I just love how whoever was doing anything within fifty yards of that shop stopped what they were doing stood there and watched the first kick over and then the smile on everybody's face priceless
Gotta love these old machines. Blood, sweat, tears and then.....smiles. I wish this fella a safe, enjoyable Cannonball.
Fifty yards?
I was on the other side of the Atlantic and I stopped what I was doing!! 👍
I just noticed the lack of sunglasses. Hope he’s feeling okay.
That is one cool bike. My Dad rode a WLA as a courier on a temporary assignment during the Normandy invasion.
He makes it look so easy but the amount of knowledge and experience it must take is mind blowing to me😵
My friends and I were in the background and were absolutely amazed and lucky to be part of this experience. Matt and the museum are one of a kind. Can't wait to come back and visit. Thanks to Matt and everyone at the museum for having us.
Lucky
On today's episode, we see how many times Mat's sunglasses fall off his head onto his nose
Matt has truly mastered his craft. I don't think there is another family on earth as dialed on these pieces of history
So cool to see a bike almost a hundred years old up and running
Thanks Matt and Co. I appreciate your efforts.
Love, love, love it. Wish I was the one taking that bike for its 3000 ride.
Brought tears of nostalgia a couple times. Thanks for the memories ❤❤👍
At 20:20 Matt's voice cracks when his Dad is mentioned. We all miss our Dads when they are no longer with us. ❤️ Awesome video.
That was the best 22 minutes of my day! Thanks to Matt and your team for doing what you do! Planning a trip down, hope to see ya this summer!
You know it's serious stuff when Matt takes his shades off 😎 to work on the bike.
haha, your right !! he wasnt messing around, what a bike
@@TroubadourJuggernaut yeah. I wish my 80 shovelhead started that easily
Beautiful old classic.....
When l visit the USA, you guys are a must see .
Great passion for American Motorcycles .
I have a 2003 1200 Sportster...it keeps me young . Driving around Warwickshire England l feel like loner, just love the US keeping the dream alive .
You're a great historian. So much pertinent data regarding the bike's past history. You're a walking encyclopedia of motorcycle knowledge⭐
Killer video!! Killer Machine!! We are looking forward to having this bike and Gary on the next event!!!
They will be ready!
Have a picture of my great grandpa in 1929 on his 1928 Harley. Same bike I’ve been looking at a picture of my whole life too cool seeing one run. Need to own one someday
Everyone’s face in the back when she fired up. Brilliant 👏
Matt is a great guy. I'm so glad this guy is going to ride this bike all those miles. Never cared for trailer queens.
WOW!! Gotta love it!! Go Chuck.

Only just stumbled across this channel . Love it . If I'm ever able to get to the USA I'll definitely visit this museum
AWESOME STUNNING BIKE
These are my favorite videos! Showing a little bit of the process behind getting these bikes going! Thank you Matt and WTT for the great videos and the wealth of knowledge!
Superb bike, thank you for sharing. I'm from the old continent with fascination for brit, french and italian motorcycle of the pre war era but it's a pleasure to see your passion for americans marvels of the era.
Good luck on your ride man!
Huge smile when that baby sparked up.
amazing bikes - amazing content
I love how you have these bikes in a “museum” but you don’t keep them behind glass that no one can touch…you take them out drive them and use them how they where intended to be used
Makes my heart skip a beat when they fire up...kewl machine.
Thanks Matt, Very helpful to watch this. Live 100 years. Thailand Paul
i went up to wheels thru time years back such an amazing place. I also got a picture of me and your dad and i will cherish that photo forever. Dale is a legend

Great video. Thanks for sharing with us.
Amazing Matt,,,,,
As a galesburg resident, familer with the family, 1 kick after gas is no surprise.
Great episode i can apply some of these tips even on my 83 yamaha!
Thank you for the video. Great as usual.
Fabulous guys. Just Fabulous. 😎

Great bike! Good luck in the Cannonball!
First kick?! Are you shitting me?! Wow! That's so amazing! Your expertise with these old dogs (no disrespect!) is just incredible. No matter the model, year, make, whatever, you know how to tweak 'em and bring them back to life. Great, great episode, y'all! I wanna see the Cannonball footage now! ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
Very Nice !! Matt!!
( I'm From Brasil
It would be revolutionary if HD, went back in their own timeline and started manufacturing and selling new old mc's from the first bike.
LOL if you ever ride these vintage bikes the brakes and top speed will get most people in trouble on the roads today
Man I love your channel
Beautiful
Good luck in the Cannonball. Thanks for the video.
Very cool...
Awesome bike
So cool
Awesome
The bike I aways wanted to own
Smiles all around when she fires!
My kind Machine,,,😎
Love the vids
Hope he pulls a perfect score, the bike sure seems up to task.
Awsom ride! Are Y'all open this monday?
Circuit breaker, never heard it called timer, guess I learnt something new...no spark plug wire, so no distributor. According to my original HD books...
Wow, can I borrow one🙏🏻
Does anyone know the route they are taking ? Would love to go see these go across the Country When they pass through !
As long as ya use correct but modern rubber tires from Coker, and modern material chains and valve springs (notorious for breaking), you should have no problems.
What a cool bike. Long ass trip though lol
Anyone know why pre-1932 was the cutoff? Is that year significant in some way in motorcycle evolutionary history?
what is the distinct thup you can hear? is it misfire
Very, very cool. I just bought 2 vintage (not so vintage as that Harley), 1969 R60/2 and 1973 R75/5 BMW's - I ride BMW Adventure bikes around the world. I collect air cooled Porsches and love the idea of a real mechanical engine. Something to be lost by this new generation of battery kids. I do own a battery powered Porsche Taycan -- and I can say -- its sad to see the mechanical engine get sidelined by politicians so fast -- they are absolutely not the same feeling for the soul.
What is the value of that engine in that condition?
What does the repetitive starting while hot at the end help with?
Hey Joe, doesn’t help with anything. Just demonstrates it starts easy. Thanks for watching.
@@mattwalksler Thanks Matt, I couldn't tell what was said and thought I might be missing a helpful tip.
There is a reason it is called a heel shift, heel to shift, toe to go...(I learned that here!)
😍....
That black thing on top right of the fuel tank - what is it?
Amazing how old fuel can screw up everything!!
I'm after a 28/29 JD in about this same condition of anyone knows of anything available. I'm located in Central California.
watch out breathing in all those exhaust fumes; y'all get sophisticated 8/
I'm confused about what is happening, did the guy buy the bike, or is he borrowing it?
Maybe 40 feet.
Looks like the bike will make it. Not sure about the rider. I'm a lot younger and have been riding almost just as long.
If I had an antique bike I would probably end up blowing it up by going too fast
Instead of sandpaper I use a woman’s emery board. Works great. You get a even file
Check tyre pressure? It needs new tyres. 4,000 miles on decades old rubber? Not wise. Is it even legal? Here in the UK there was talk a while back about introducing an age limit for tyres. Don't know what happened about that... Gorgeous bike, and don't forget, you can always find another rider, but old iron is irreplaceable...
I agree, but assumed new rubber was planned before real riding. I wonder how hard those tyres have become.
@@stan5513 That must be their intention. That bike is worth a fortune and only a fool would risk it and the rider for old but period incorrect tyres.
he said you have a lot of work before the race - many of the participants use modern rims and tires and re vamp the oil systems just for starters...
