i wish my dad was alive ,HE WOULD LOVE YOUR STUFF, he used to tell me stories of board racing, he really got excited about Harley at 21 yrs old and bought a new for 1927 street Harleys,
when i was around 16/18 yrs(i'm an old fart now) early 1950s, he was proud to explain the bike he bought, describing it had 74 disp. had a BARREL carb(no butter fly), and said 1st one with DOW METAL pistons hi compression!, said it would go over 110 MPH in second gear!
how times change 1950s,, i was around that time , used to deliver news papers to a scrape metal place , and seen and old engine layin on the ground , payed $2. dollars for it and dragged it home, in a cart, dad said it was date 1916 Harley!
A warehouse full of legends.....created and showcased by a legend ....and now.....a future legend......takes us further......
Matt....you have some shoes to fill....and you are doing it....take hold of those bars and ride...we will follow
Man Duran really was a incredible racer
I would love make a few passes on that one! Thank you for saving the history of these bikes.
Your passion and knowledge really comes through, I always look forward to your videos, thank you.
Soon as this covid crap is over I am coming down. Thanks for keeping us sane.Keep them coming.
Actually, "thanks" to Covid I found so many museums I still want to visit, since a lot of them offer virtual tours and got me interested. But no other museum offers so many detailed videos with that much background knowledge. I really want to visit now. Trouble is, I'm from Germany.
To keep the ball rolling, something like this, from the Hamburg Maritime Museum in my city, is what I ment in my first sentence: ua-cam.com/video/R6KtZYyjtUY/v-deo.html ("Heavy Metal" theme tour)
screw covid! go see it!
Que hermosa moto
La misma pasión que tenía tu padre!
No paro de ver tus videos! Cuántas máquinas maravillosas
Saludos desde Córdoba Argentina
props to all of you guys for keeping this history alive. it always great to see where we started and to hear history alive again
Love this series! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Such unique machines & history.
i wasn't expecting it to sound so good.
What a treat to see and *hear* that!
This thing just existing is amazing!
That's an amazing machine! Sweet! Thanks for another great video!
I love listening to your videos. I’m a women of 60 and love learning. Nothing like Harley Davidson. Definitely the sound and the Men and of course women who ride them. Nothing like a real man on a Harley.
Tina 805 bless you for your dedication but men make machines
Machines don't make men.......
When HD turned their back on the bikers who made them I turned my back on HD
I didn’t know that. Knowledge is power. Thank you.
@@TINA-xu2bc I've got you by 5 years dear . Been riding since I was 8. Nobody loved HD like I did ( still have the ink ) They were American made.
Now 70 percent Japanese Australian wheels some assembly still done in USA ( Enough to avoid import taxes) won't bore you any more I could fill volumes with what is now worthless information. The worst lesson I learned was the women (maybe excluding you) did not have the heart that they professed. Last year I put 10 k miles on other brands of motorcycles solo
Just sayin
I’m glad you let me know these things. These details they do leave out. I’m glad you still enjoy riding. Stay safe. And thank you again.
What a great looking bike! I hope to visit the museum sometime!
Too Friggin Cool!... Your Pop even Raced on it!... Thanks for Sharing. Keep Up the Great Work Brother
Love the JD I was 17 me and my Dad restored 1922 JD with a sidecar been in love with JD's for 39 years
I learn a little every video I watch.😮
Great history and beautiful motorcycle. I wish my old 1974 XLCH had been that easy to start. LOL
Once I travel to the USA, one of my first destinations is your museum! That's for sure!
Very cool that you start up all the bikes you show! Keep it up.!
Greetings from Germany👋
Man i love this channel! I love the brand and the history. Good stuff!👍
Your dad would have loved this video, thank you for sharing it
Thanks Matt!!!
Would love it if you guys did a video on what it would take to build a vintage style engine, I know nothing about putting together vintage motors.
What a beautiful old girl!!! 🤘😎🤘
Love this channel.... Hoping for a THOR Showcase someday..... Thanks from tacoma, Washington.
Beautiful.....Thanks
The vintage fotos were icing on the cake. But that sound is American meat and potatoes. I love the smell of blue flame from my exhaust.
God I love these videos!!!! @wheels through time, I noticed your museum is currently “temporarily closed” on your website. Are you guys going to open up any time soon? I would make a vacation out of coming to see you guys in a heartbeat.
Awesome race bike Matt
DAMN! About all I can say.
74 cubic inch on a fancy ole time bicycle frame = sweet
Great video
It sounds like it is cold blooded with all the popping. The rear cylinder was blowing flames.
Awesome ❤
Thank you 😎👍👌
Obviously your focus is on the magnificent motorcycles and history. What is the "Experimental" airplane in the background?
sweet Are those clincher tyres? when did tyre security bolts start being used? dang ! motorcycles.
We would love to see the vintage race bike bike you ride in a video and the history on it
Damn I want to climb on that at a 1/2 flat track. Nice piece, thank you.
How wild! A Chicano was the top racer, and my last name is Weston!
Your dad was a fuc@ing legend.
Super cool really bitchin listening and learning this information on our history of motorcycle 🏍
Love it
the real old harley sound
I had a 48 FL that didn't sound that hot. Same size engine.
I want you to review the red airplane in the back ground
Thanks
Looks like a folker D-7 !!
Does the Wheels Through Time Museum have a sprinkler or fire suppression system? See the Top Motorcycle Museum burning down.
Hi Matt,what's with the handlebars?

It must be hard not to be corrupt with all that gold around
Where is dale ? ?

🏍🖖🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🍺🍺🏍👌
This is confusing. How could he have won all those championships on an "outlaw" machine? Were they some kind of non-AMA championships or what? Because outlaw means non-AMA racing. Please explain.
I believe the state championships were not AMA events
@@robkoons2100
That's possible, but if a guy raced in a non-AMA ("outlaw") event, then he would be banned from participating in AMA events. Most guys weren't willing to do that.
Yea got me on this one. Not sure exactly he did it. I’m going to do some research on this and try to find out
EV motorcycle tech started with bicycles much like the early bikes. Up to about 80-90mph too now on similar tires not the road legal ev motorcycles but garage built like this.
W/no clutch how did they start the races ? Did they start on the stand and someone just kicked them off ?i Way cool though !
It was a rolling start, the bike was push started by the mechanics. Then the competitors drove around the track and when they reached the start straight, they got the "go" signal with a flag.
@@asdfghjkl48929 WOW! Sounds like Nascar .
Yup, like that. It looks cool when the riders come rolling, gathering together, waiting for the start - and them, boooom!
@@asdfghjkl48929 Fifty years ago, I lived on the edge of Chicago, used to go to "Santa Fe speedway", a quarter mile and half mile clay track. It was faster than the asphalt tracks back then, cheap and exciting. The EPA shut that track down back in the eighties or nineties. They always did flying starts, bikes and stock cars.
That's Bitching.
Harley's really do not seem to have changed over the years.
cool not another thing to be said.
Don the CON is GONE
