Thanks for the review. Im looking at one for $50 brand new to cut stones for lapidary and jewelry making of cabochons. Due to your review Im buying it. You put it to the test. Im not using it but maybe 3 times a month for 20 minutes with a diamond blade so it should last me a while. Nice work Sir.

For the price its not bad. There 2 things i wish they did different . 1 the top needs to be bigger for 18" tile but it will work. 2 is i think it would be better with a water line running on the blade. Rather than using the water tray . the water gets to dirty fast ~ IT MAKE A NICE CLEAN FAST CUT👍
I need to make a bunch of rabbet edges in 1+1/4" fire brick for my next rocket stove (and for rebuilding my current rocket stove). Is the cut depth adjustable on this saw? If not I'll need to shim the brick on the table surface relative to the blade to get the proper cut depth. Possibly add a 2" wide aluminum bar to the blade side of the fence for the elevated bricks to ride against. Also, the rip fence seems a bit flimsy. Does it easily line up straight when locking it into place?
For something like this, maybe consider the Harbor Freight Diamondback 7" tile saw. It's cheap, works great (don't need the stand to save money) and you can re-sell it on Facebook market or Craigslist. Landberg thanks, *very nicely done* review ... based on it I just ordered up this saw (Amazon) to do some bath ceramic subway tile work needed after replacing my pedestal sink (prewar building needed to 'get in the wall' and ERGO...tile work needed ugh! Thanks for pointing out the various saw parts as well as sampling a bunch of tile/stone etc., a perfect review thx again!
@@LandbergTileTV BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any saw is dangerous, even a hand saw. This is an irresponsible statement for you to make. I bet even one rotating at 30 rpm can tear you open!
@@PootaurStuff You obviously have never used a tile saw. If you were to have a heart attack and fall on the saw or if someone was to hold your finger against the running saw blade, it would eventually cut you. It will go though the bone very quickly but very slowly through skin and flesh. Try cutting a piece of wood and you will understand what I am talking about.
@@gofasthavefun Nope never used a tile saw, but I will be tomorrow. Thanks for the info. But I will still keep my fingers back. I play many instruments that require all 10 fingers so I guard my carefully. In fact, I wish I had more fingers... If you happen to chop yours off and dont want, pack in ice, and mail to me! Hahahahaha!!!
@Landberg Tile TV Great point and one that most people who have used table saws won’t believe. I took Home Depot’s “Installing Tile” class and the instructor made a point of demonstrating how easy and safe tile saws are to work with, especially compared to table saws, which are the probably the most dangerous tool any homeowner will ever use. He even put his index finger against the running blade for a second to show us. His point was that, for detailed tile work, you’ve got to be able to make very precise cuts, which means using your fingers close to the blade. Ironically, his other hand was missing halves of two fingers, lost on, you guessed it, a table saw.
I have the same saw and put a wood blade it and actually used it more with wood blade than for tile. I didn’t have a table saw at the time. Works great. I burned out my switch tho.
Great review as I have about 200 sq ft of wall and floor to do in my bath remodel. I'll go down to Lowes and pick one up. I assume you' re using the blade that came with it.
That was the first thing I noticed and thought some day he WILL cut his fingers off, for sure, its just a matter of when. I cringed seeing him remove tiles with the blade still moving. His fingers were way to close also, one slip and there goes a finger. Then to gofasthavefun, when a dull blade is spinning that fast it does NOT matter if it is sharp or not, a finger is coming off. I do NOT get my fingers close, nor do I remove pieces between the blade and fence, and I use push sticks. When one gets sloppy on safety one will pay dearly later on, its just a matter of time.
@@gofasthavefun It does NOT matter if the blade is totally dull, if it spins it will wack a finger off, or hand, very easy! I've been wood working for 5 decades, and I use to be an EMT, and have seen table saw accidents like you would not believe! You are posting bad info to say it wont chop something of very easy. People that read this, do NOT believe this for one moment!!!

I worked the ER as an EMT twice in my life, and have seen so many injuries and missing body parts... So naturally I am very concerned when I think someone has their fingers near a spinning blade. BTY I did buy the Harbor Freight one. In fact, going to go get the blade this morning. The video was very informative! I hope this saw cuts as good as in the vid, I guess it is all in the blade... I'm tiling the laundry room next week, which I will post a video on!!! Thanks for your reply back!

not a bad saw for the cheapo but the fence lock on one side of mine is defective so had to use a piece of wood and clamp for reapeats cuts.
I’m getting some real good chips on my marble backsplash. It vibrates real bad when cutting. Might be time for a blade change.

Did you upgrade the blade or using the one came with the Skill tile saw?
The same that came with the saw.
It seemed to put out more dust. Low water or crappy blade?

I find it impossible to cut on the line with the guard down. And the guard has to be down to prevent you from getting soaking wet.
Have you checked out the one thats 20$ more? Its the same one but it has Hydrolock water containment system
I agree! And you use more water this way. Every couple of cuts I'm putting more water in.
Why would you touch the blade guard when the machine is running...

No you can't..
I have the same saw and put a wood blade it and actually used it more with wood blade than for tile. I didn’t have a table saw at the time. Works great. I burned out my switch tho.
How do you cut corners and angle cuts?
You COULD use a square to cut diagonal cuts, but this saw isn't usually used for that. Usually only straight cuts and notches. 👊

According to the specs, 1+3/8" at 90 degrees, 1" at 45 degrees.

Yes it will!
