Some girls ask for ponies for their birthday, but when Lia Block turned 14 she got the ultimate pony car with 1,400 horses under the hood! To prepare her to be the star driver of Hoonicorn vs The World season 2, proud papa Ken Block had her train under the true masters... NHRA Top Fuel Driver Leah Pruett, Sage Thomas aka @DonkmasterTV, Hank Iroz of @IrozMotorsport, and of course the Head Hoonigan in Charge.

What an awesome father he was...tragic and unfair it was cut so short. RIP Ken your legendary impact won't be forgotten. Condolences to everyone in the Hoonigan camp, to Ken's family and friends. Especially his wife & kids.
Well said 👏👏
Hoon In Peace, Ken
it's so sad =(
Just saw that... holly heck
There are gonna be tire marks in heaven just you wait😂
It’s true
I hope she continues in her father's footsteps she had the best teacher for sure. R.I.P KEN BLOCK and condolences to your family.
The Hoonigan camp will undoubtedly keep this going if she wants. If that was my dad, I'd be clamoring to get in a car after this.
Naa, she needs to find her own path, not feel obligated to follow in his footsteps because the fan kids want her to.
@@mynameisray Racing is clearly her passion too though
@mynameisray she's got a passion for it, tho so why wouldn't she she's a badass driver don't no many that could handle that car check out the videos on here. She had the best teacher has the best car, team, and support he had all his family involved in that lifestyle she's grew up with it.
Me too
Lia will no doubt continue the Block legacy, the Hoon will rise again.
RIP Ken
I see Brian as an uncle and helping Lia continue to be the best driver and keep her dads legacy. I'm rooting for you: she has all the support.
She's got all of Team Hoonigan for "Uncles". The girl grew up in the shop. They all helped raise her and cultivate her love of racing.
“So you’re teaching me to cheat and not get caught?”
The smile of kens face said “She’s learning”
lol
Finding a competitive advantage and not get caught.
i keep explaining to my dad. if your not cheating, your not racing.
at least from the manufactureres perspective. you know?
lol
@@robmanueb. racing, as it has always been. Find an unfair advantage while not explicitly breaking the regulations.
Then maintain the facade until the competitors 1-up you, then rinse and repeat.
If bench racing/paper racing was reliable then Formula 1 wouldn't be out there still re-defining the bleeding edge of physics bending racing competition.
It's great seeing Ken and Lia's dynamic. You can definitely tell Ken is a supportive parent, and Lia is 100% related to him.
When she looks at the camera and just “oh boy…”
It's cool that Lia is really into it and its not just a _'My dad races so I should'_ thing.
Agreeded. She is such a cool kid. Dad, you'd better start working on her Top Fuel team. That girl's gonna want to "Stomp On That Loud Pedal." As Clay would say.
@@Outland9000 You don't think she was pushed into it from an extremely young age?? Ya ok..
@@dieseldabz7104 Not really, no. Seems to be keen as a bean.
Watching her face light up at the idea of racing the Hoonicorn and how dedicated she is to learning every facet of racing, it's pretty clear that even though we lost her legendary dad, Lia is heir to the throne.
Lia if you see this Im sure you've heard this before but you and your siblings all have very bright futures ahead of you, keep driving your a stone cold natural. Don't stop never stop, keep pushing to the next level. I cant wait to see your automotive journey and what you will accomplish. My deepest condolences for your family's tragic loss
watching these again will never be the same again, we will forever remember you legend ❤ what an inspiration.
Rest In Utah the real Paul Walker
We were so lucky to have a personality like Ken in the motorsports and car cultures.
No doubt his legacy will live on!
@@kpegc hopefully his daughter carries that legacy on.
this video just made me cry tbh.... her feelings must be so destroyed, that breaks my heart, r.i.paradise Ken 😢😢❤❤
How did he die?
After driving something with 10,000 horsepower for a living, I wonder if Leah ever gets in something like a Hellcat and is like, "Damn, this thing kinda slow..."
It probably feels slow and like it has no traction. Driving a Top Fuel is going to be like getting shot out of a cannon.
They ruined Kens daughters life in that aspect in my opinion, I cant wait till she comes to Ireland and does a rally like her father and gets a wake up call.
@@PaceWorks OP is referring to Leah, not Ken Block's daughter Lia.
@@PaceWorks Why? because drag racing is "easy"? just hit the peddle and go, right? lol. you turny boys and thinking playing in the mud takes more skill than forcing thousands of horsepower down a strip are HAAAlarious. They both require certain skills and drag racing requires a skill that rally drivers and anyone who turns has no concept of and has a real hard time grasping so teaching her early how to handle a car like that then let her go play in the mud is a huge benefit to her..
I'd only watch if they could turn the strip vertical - just to see if they could reach orbit. Finally, a real reason for the parachute.
As a father of a fourteen year old daughter, this brought tears in my eyes, cause it's just so cool to teach your kids something so awesome and Lia just nailed it. So freakin' awesome.
And now even more....RIP
She has so much support, I hope she know’s that this community has her back. We love you Ken and we can’t wait to see what Lia does in the future! May you rest very peacefully, Ken♥️
Ken & Lia are probably the coolest father daughter duo to exist.
Tremendously sad to see it being cut so short by Ken's tragic death.
To the entire Block family; the people involved in the production of these amazing videos; and in particular, to Lia (and her entire family)... I am so sorry about your loss...!
No one should lose a father like this, before they have matured into adulthood. I say this because I was still quite young when I lost mine to a motorcycle accident.
Lia you have been extremely lucky, not only to be your father's daughter, but also to have lived your entire life completely immersed in your father's world and greatest passion, which, as we've seen for the past few years, has influenced and shaped your very young and beautiful life. You've had the best teacher anyone could ever have dreamed of. I know you will be stronger after enduring through this tough grieving period. Now is the time to be surrounded by the people you love the most. I'm looking forward to seeing you back in the car Lia, shredding some rubber and racing through many rallies. I know you'll be as successful as your dad, not because you're his daughter, but because you share his passion. That's all you've known since you were a baby.
I thank all of you (the Hoon family), and Ken, for giving the entire world, but in particular, me and my family so many joyful moments, by making each and every single one of these incredible videos avaliable on UA-cam. It's such a beautiful, powerful and impactful legacy that will live through the ages and inspire many generations to come.
God bless you and your beautiful Hoon family.
The way Ken looks and smiles at Lia at 27:41, when she starts drifting his Cosworth ... 😭😭😭 Rest In Peace Ken, we know you'll be holding the steering wheel for her up there.
May you rest in peace Ken. You will be greatly missed! Absolute legend of a human!
Eyes from her mother and her send-it from her dad. 😂 she's literally living out all of the car communities dreams at 14 😅
It really hurts to watch these videos in the same way 😢 RIP Ken you will always remembered for what you have done within the motorsport industry and for your family. You have a amazingly talented daughter and watched majority of your videos of the hoonicorn vs! Keep making your dad proud Lia you have so much talent and a bright future ❤
Ken,This video was such a great inspiration for my daughter and I. We loved this side of you. Rest in peace man!!
This video hits different this hurts bad most importantly my condolences to his beautiful family & close friends 😢we lost a legend who inspired millions of people . Ken you will be truly missed & we will NEVER FORGET what you did thank you for your time on this earth it was an honor to have you❤
Donkmaster is such a character. Always great to watch him on the show.
Still though Lia learned so damn fast everything to get to Hoonicorn, yeah she is very lucky to have such dad !
The making of an absolute legend.
Waiting for the Lia merch line that directly funds her racing team.
Get on this pops. Perpetuate the Block legacy, Lia can clearly carry the torch with finesse.
She just needs to keep her weight down. Everybody has an issue with that until they figure out how it's done. I'm not here to give advice because this is easily learned.
I remember taking my 16 year old daughter to a snow covered parking lot and teaching her how to control a slide. One of the best and funnest days of my life to this day. I had way more fun teaching her what my dad would have never in a million years done with me.
good man!
Sliding is fine at parking lot speeds. But
In snow at freeway speeds turn- off traction control.
Thank you to the Block family for sharing Ken with the world.. We all share in your loss.. Ken will always live in my heart as one of the greatest.. Stay strong Block's...
The Hoonifriends are so nice! I can't imagine how cool it must be to have Leah Pruett, Donkmaster, and Hank Iroz as mentors.
...and last but not least friggin Ken Block as the ultimate mentor and proud father
..and Paul Walker
22:19 - She CALMLY takes her hand off the steering wheel while flatout to adjust her visor XD id be death gripping that wheel so hard it would have my fingerprints imprinted XD
Bro! I was waiting for the video to end, and hear about how the hoonicorn is out of commission!!
i noticed that and from the outside view u can hear the tires spinning through 3rd gear almost which means it wasnt gripping that hard and she just had no problem controlling it i dont get it lmfao
My thought exactly, she soo in control mentally and physically of the situation subconscious basically went hmm vision slightly impaired, still in cruise mode here adjust before it gets interesting.
the way ken said "sure" when lia asked if she could push the button is what i love most about this hole episode
in tears right now Ken was thebest father and example that Lia could have asked for. I know she'll go on to do great things too I can't believe he's gone
Ken, your girl has a bright future ahead of her. DAMN ! ♥
I freaking love Ken's family. The Hoonigan family. and most of all, freaking Donk Master! I was not expecting him to be teaching Lia the art of street racing negotiation 🤣
It was wild seeing the in car during “victory donuts” because she looked just like Ken, calm and collected, while operating chaos. As a parent myself this was a cool video to watch. She rips and will go far!
That chair Scotto was sitting on clearly was not designed for him 🤣
I'm 6'8" and as a fellow Large Lad, I can say almost nothing in this world is made for dudes our size.
@@criznash.....no kidding eh tell me about it....... I'm 6'2" and 320 pounds but my size is from bodybuilding
There just isn't any really nice looking clothes for big dudes and it's like the bigger you are the less choices there are and you either have to take out a bank loan and go to a tailor or settle for garbage like a jacket I bought and it didn't even last one day hell it didn't last an hour......dropped my car keys after coming out of the store I just bought my jacket from and when I bent over to pick them up and the jacket ripped straight down my back.....i end up just looking like a slob in a white t-shirt and shorts
This is an amazing movie.
So cool to see kids like Lia Block and Lincoln Whiddett starting their racing careers before our very eyes
Lias Gunna bring it for dad. RIP Ken Block. She's Gunna be ridiculous.
Man I couldn’t help but cry watching this again. Spent a lotta years watching ken just dominate any track he was set to be on. I truly hope his family finds peace, especially his daughter. cause the way she looks at her dad is that of a person looking at their hero. Rest in Paradise, Ken. 43 forever.❤️
I love all of the proud dad moments, you can almost hear Ken yell "Thats my girl!!!!"😁🏁
She is amazing what a talented kid right there hope to see her go on massive championship and win some races!
She puts in the work, learns the ins and outs of racing. She has a great attitude, huge smile, and those "Victory Donuts" are epic. What a great kid and Ken has to be over the moon with her... Well done Sir! You have a champion on your hands for what ever she decides to do in life.
Lia go make daddy proud! My condolences to the fam and team! Much Love to all! This is tough! R.I.P. Ken! 🥺😥
I can definitely relate to Lia. I grew up around drag racing, custom cars/trucks, raced dirt bikes and quads. When I was 14yrs old I made my very first 1/4 pass. My dad put me in the car while we were in the pits, so no one would question the kid driving a big tire car. My first pass was a 10.23@132mph. My second pass was the a new person best for the car, at that time, which was a 9.74@145mph. I’ve been addicted ever since.
“Can i press the button?”
*wait for it*
*MASSIVE NOD OF APPROVAL*
Ken seems to be a great father and a wonderful teacher to his children.
RIP Ken...Had to come watch Lia learn the ropes again. Enjoyed it the first time but it now has a more sentimental feeling. Continue the Legacy Lia. Condolences from NZ.
Same I'm watching again enjoying seeing the awesome dad daughter bond they had 😭😭😭❤❤❤
This video literally choked me up. I've got a daughter the same age and I'm teaching her to drive. Definitely not to this extent, but some mild snow drifting. It's been fun. Scary, but fun! It's great to see great men and fathers still exist! Keep hooning!
I can't stop crying for Ken. May he rest in Utah his last resting place
Leah is like the most professional person Lia could hope to meet and hope to imitate. she’s a full on professional in the pitt, around her crew, around drivers, around the fans... that’s what sets her apart she brings it every single race she brings it hard every single time… rain or shin.. that’s a lesson young women need to learn treat others with respect and expect to be treated with respect in return. Leah is the Boss!
As someone who grew up without a dad. It’s fantastic to see Ken and Lia’s relationship. You can see the respect Lia has for the craft and the support Ken has for her as a driver. Fantastic series and hope to see more of Lia absolutely shredding!!
I could cry...seeing this. RIP Ken. Germany leaves black Stripes on Street for you!
2:52 rare footage of Ken with no hat.... great vid BTW
Legitimately one of my favorite videos. Y'all have given her the best family one could ask for. Well done Ken and crew!!
what a legend, these moments are priceless. She is going to be a beast no fear just like her father sad that his life ended😢he’s a legendary Man🙏🏽 rest in peace gone, but never forgotten🏁43VER💨💨💪🏼🫶🏼🙏🏽
My condolences lia to you, your family and your extended hoonigan family.
He will be forever remember as one of the greats and is now ripping it along with the greats. Ayrton Senna, Colin McRae, William Dunlop, Marco Simoncelli, Dale Earnherdt to name a few who will keep him on his toes till the day you are both reunited.
Rest in peace Ken, you are the goat
God, those Top Fuellers hit hard.
I know! They did a good job catching the audio, most cameras are not up to the task.
I feel like it was only yesterday Lia was crunching the gears in the mk.2 ... This girl is so bright and will do great things! :D
Cant just help but get tears watching Ken so proud of seeing his daughter learn the ways and watch him enjoy every single moment #KB43 #ProudFather
Please tell me Lia can take the Hoonicorn when she gets her car driving license, can you imagine the tester's face LOL.
Pin this
The hoonicorn is street legal?
@@bryanribey absolutely not lmao, as much as I wish it was
The tester would just hand over the license to Lia Block and say "I am of no use here, I'm going home. Maybe I will drink."
Honestly, the tester might just see the name and go "wait a minute " and just hand it over
That Dunkmaster segment was amazing Lol
R.i.p to legend ken you will be missed dearly and your spirit will live on in all of those you inspired and your daughter will keep the block legacy alive
He's the real one that inspired and not Paul Walker. Ironically he died in Utah where Paul Walker's family has ties to
rip ken block you will be missed you are a legend, she looks a lot like her dad, i have a feeling that if she continues racing she will be a very good and and successful racer, and she might be as good if not better than him, only time will tell, i know we as a community of car enthusiast are sadden from the loss of an icon and i hope his family knows they have our support in their grieving process.
He was such a happy easygoing guy, always laughing and positive. Sad for his family and friends and fans.
Lia is just amazing! Great to see a younger generation getting into car stuff and racing in general
*_Such a tragedy at the worst time… The fast that Ken helped his daughter become an automotive enthusiast and inspired all of us with his Gymkhana series… Even the series where they just built the car for his daughter 🥹_* Condolences to everyone…
Man these are hard to watch now.......such an amazing man and father.....my heart aches for his family. RIP Ken
Ken knew his luck was running out, so he needed Lia to take over. She’s gonna do extremely well. Rip Ken! You got this Lia!
I love how Lia is smiling the entire time. But she's so quiet like she's just taking everything in. It's so awesome. Plus she can DRIVE.
Yea man, shes a badass kid. Its gonna be exciting to see what she achieves in the next couple of years considering she just started rally recently. Ken’s a great dad it seems.
Amazing! She has a super bright future in the sport! An Ken is all kids dream dad ! ❤
I can't imagine her pain right now.
Love how Ken still prompts Lia to say “thank you to your teacher” cute.
I just hope and pray this young woman can keep her father's name up and strong as well as making a huge name for herself! Hats off to you sweet lady!
Lia is the superstar the next generation deserves, and regardless of the legacy complainers, SHES EARNED HER STRIPES
Seeing a man like Ken reach for the cage as a 'Ow sh1t handle' is something I thought I would never see 😂
Lia, much love to you and your family right now. I seen all your races for this season but i never seen this content on how you got ready. I am super happy i ran into this content. The making of another Block legend. Your one bass ass chick. I cant wait to see all your future endeavors. Again, my deepest condolences to you and your family. I always loved watching your dad race and now its time for you to carry the torch further. my heart goes out to the Block Family and Hoonigan. Peace be with you.
Lunchmeat.
One of the best videos you guys have done. Great to see the whole story. Can't wait to see the new season 2.
this was really fun. nice to see that Lia isn't a total savage and that she does scare, even if it takes a 170mph spin-out. Victory donuts, indeed!
R.i.p Ken Block, I cannot express my grief but... something I can express is that we will all miss you greatly... In fact I have looked up to you for a while now and you were the main reason I got into drift. I pray that you have found peace and that your family will be alright... I'm beyond sorry and I feel like there is a hole in my heart, again we will all miss you thank you for changing the lives of us who knew you for the better. My condolences.-Ian Schmidt 😢
Send love to Lia from France
It’s amazing to see how effortlessly she drove in all the races. Definitely a chip off the old Block Thanks for the content
She's got a lot of talent. Definitely Ken Block's prodigy 👍
Hearing Ken laughing seeing Lea’s excitement as she said yes gets me emotional! Love Lea
Rest In Peace you king! We love you and we are going to miss u
Always love Hanks energy
Amazing, you did a great job there Dad!
imagine how proud Ken43 would be to learn his daughter is entering Williams f1 academy respect to Lia
Lia your father was my hero. Flex on the DC family because we have your back. In 35 yrs ive only shed a tear over your dad. He was an absolute inspiration.
Lia's friend: So what did you get for your birthday?
Lia: 1400 ponies......
You're the only person that should ever drive that car again Lia.
RIP Ken you legend 🙏
Race in paradise 43 you will be missed dearly
He really was the only reason leading to me loving cars. And now I'm welding and fabricating for a trucking company hoping to get into a niche for roll cages and race fabrication.. That would be so sweet.... One day. Thank you Hoons and Ken for the inspiration and an outlet to enjoy one of my favorite subjects " How Explosions Create Smiles"
My dad raised me and my brother and sister on motocross, love him for it. You are the second best dad ever!
Been waiting on this video! Love that donk master was apart of it too lol
What a Trip! Most awesome video! Taming that Mustang like a BOSS! What a Legend!
the "rage donuts" just so amazing lmaoooooo
Man he was a great father. Their relationship is awesome. Poor girl I bet she is in some serious pain right now. She is awesome. Got her dads veins. Same ice. You know he is watching her from above. Miss ya Ken 43
Amazing I didn’t realize how long the video was and thought this would be a series but it’s the whole thing 👌🏻
Hert is full dad vibes and yes...we feel you bro! Some day ima do that to!!!
You can really see so much of the elder Block's spirit and child-like joy in young Lia. She must be absolutely torn up right now. Hope she keeps on hooning. RIP Ken Block
This is by far the most interesting and captivating videos on UA-cam for me ever.
Watching the Block family going thru the motions is fantastic fun and just makes me anxious to see what’s next.
Watching her focus and the desire she has to go fast is just pure enjoyment to watch.
Thank you for sharing with us. 🤟
this shouldve been on the main channel, really good stuff :D
Did I just watch a 14 year old launch a 1400 hp car with one hand on the steering wheel at one point in the video 😂😅
Like father like daughter! May he rest in peace and may she make him proud! Thank you sweetheart
This girl is a legend.. just like her dad🤙🤙 love it you go girl
Ken is got a future killer in training. Can't wait to see the progression and where she ends up in Motorsports. She has it in her blood. Ain't care at that age is what's up.
