It's honestly sad that this is a joke you can make. The standards have fallen just so low we accept and cope with bad launches because they aren't as bad as the others :(
It is such good fun but yeah they had day one issues. Crashed twice, got booted from server once, but it got pretty stable. Just unfortunate that it's getting absolutely railed by people with anger management issues.
No anger issues here, years of multiple bad launches from many many games and devs have made the bar really high to overcome, in my brief 2 hour time with the game I have had 10 crashes, no ability to play with random ppl as most of my friends do not play horde shooters, so i rely on randoms to find ppl to connect with.
This is the second game in 15 years on steam that I refunded, I will admit one thing as being my fault and that's, that I should of stuck with my usual way I buy games which is,
wait 3 months to 1 year for all bugs to be smoothed out wait for reviews and never buy day 1 or pre order, it is my fault for breaking my own rules.
The game wont even launch on PC because of the anti-cheat. People have a right to be annoyed when something they paid for doesnt work.

I love this game the only gripe I had with this is the matchmaking when I don’t have anyone who plays this game I relayed on the matchmaking but no one joins which I assume it’s a bug right now.

To anyone having matchmaking issues try turning crossplay off and clicking into the robot controlled sector before trying to quickplay.
Worked for me, been playing with teams for 2 hours now.

Played it last night with a friends, we had 1 crash and 1 disconnect. And that was it, and we had a absolute blast most fun we had onlone together in a long time

Been playing since launch, incredible ride so far. A couple of matchmaking issues on day 1 but no disconnects.
But this is a relatively small studio with around 100 employees, and the fact they fixed it up so fast should show people they care
A sequel to a mostly unheard of twin stick shooter became a must have game of this year, with a million copies sold and hundreds of thousands of active players. They did not expect it to be this big and they’re working around the clock to fix this up
The thing that they have going for it is that the gameplay is 10/10 spectacular. It's just technical issues, and those will be fixed soon.
Hope they get rid of that timer while they're at it. Whoever thought that timer was a good idea needs a smack

Also the same, since then games been fine on PS5 except for matchmaking, which has steadily improved.
@@GrimwindGD13 I started playing literally an hours after pc launched, couldn’t play with friends for an hour or two. Was gonna think if I should refund or not after I ate breakfast but soon as I came back 20 minutes late multiplayer was doable and then I no longer had issues or crashes for the next 8 hours
Had 8 CTDs so far with a few of them locking my PC up so I had to hard restart. Gameplay loop is so much fun when it works, hope they fix it soon.
I just want to say I played for about 16 hours yesterday, and I crashed once myself, had two connection failures between my group, and actually accrued about 2000 super credits in game, though I don't know how much luck I had with it. So compared to other games with "battle passes" this is super fair imo.
Surprisingly enough, I only had one crash and was able to run it with my 6 year old PC. Plus was able to play crossplay with my friend and it's been just as fun as Helldivers 1. Definitely going to grind this game.
It crashes every 35 mins or so on my ~10yo rig 😂 it's quite rough playing on like 25 fps but,, it's playable! Even with settings all the way down you can have a blast
As launches go this is by far one of the best in recent years, yes I’ve experienced crashes but netted probably 10 hrs of playing yesterday a couple crashes isn’t gonna deter me when games have been legit unplayable upon release.
For everyone experiencing matchmaking issues, just turn off crossplay find a planet you like and press matchmaking. It might give you an error the first 10 times but keep doing it you'll eventually find at the first 10 tries max. It will take 1-2 minutes.
Character Design look like Halo Reach meets those dudes from Star Wars, very cool looking Star ship Trooper vibes
The games are heavily inspired by starship troopers, that's where the whole managed democracy/ dystopian society vibes come from

Other then the Matchmaking not working I have had no issues.

This ganme is phenomenal. I think if it had a full story campaign and more interesting levels and maps, (in my fantasy mind) cities and big towns would be really cool to see. Also it would be fun to get a decent amount of vehicle call ins.
Put about 10 hours in yesterday, my takes:
Pros:
- There is a game here, right now it offers some level of replayability (see cons)
- The core gameplay is fun, be it running solo or as a team there are fun dynamics, stratagems feel fun, although a little clunky at times to activate, but when you hit one correctly, and you see an entire wave of bugs gets blown to bits it's a great feeling and is visually excellent.
- Gun play is excellent, all guns have their own feel, strengths, and weaknesses, keeps it fresh and fun, although access to new guns is a pain due to scaling / tiers in microtransaction (see cons)
Cons:
- As noted above, the game currently has some replayability, but even in a short period yesterday I found myself repeating the same quests, missions, and events pretty often, the game has just released so gets a pass from me, but as they're pushing live service they're going to have to find a way to keep things fresh in the long run and maybe bulk out some type of storyline for longer engagement.
- During team play it would be better for teammate indicators to have their PSN/Online name rather than a Designation of T1, L2, P1 etc, would just make call-outs and team work much easier knowing who is where and doing what.
- The game needs a basic jump mechanic, yes I'm aware you can get a jump pack later in the game (Level 8) but just the basic ability to jump would help, I've lost track of the amount of times I've been caught in terrain or even stuck, and I've had to button bash/dive to get free, just the ability to jump would have prevented this.
- An in game option for auto-reload on mag empty, for me this hasn't been an issue, but I was playing with friends yesterday, and they constantly got caught out and died due to this.
- Lack of overall weapon customisation, yes I'm aware you can hold down square to bring up a weapons option while in game (not for all weapons) and change scopes, fire rate, flashlight etc, but been able to build your own loadout even at a basic level would be helpful - Would also be nice to have even a small amount of weapon upgrades available, bigger mags, new ammo etc.
- Microtransactions, showing my age here, but I'm not a fan, hate the tiered progress, you're forced to spend medals on crap you don't want to just unlock the next tier to then be able to get the gun or armour you're actually after.
- Ship / Stratagem upgrades, for me the in game currency cost for some of these need reducing, you simply don't get enough credits to progress at a reasonable pace, a game like this should not have this level of a "grind" mechanic
- Single player gamers, I know that this game is predominately focused on team play mechanics, but there are gamers who can't adjust life around their own or others people's schedules so can't always get on with a team, and then you also have people who don't want to play with randoms, Arrowhead are going to have to find a way to allow these players to same freedoms and access as team players, I've seen myself when I've jumped in solo that areas in the map are literally locked away and inaccessible (even down to basic things like re-stock / weapon bunkers) which require a minimum of two people to open / activate.
- Servers, look OK it's Day 1, they'll have bugs in the system (pardon the pun), but the old excuse of "We didn't expect this level of demand" doesn't cut it for me, Sony and the Devs have gone on a total hype-train with this game, and it's live service, lost track how many times myself and the full team, got kicked mid-gameplay due to servers going up / down.
My only real concern with the game is the people posting about how the anti cheat is poorly made, and it goes through all of your files and isn’t removed just by uninstalling the game, meaning it could easily be used as a form of spyware
Sounds like they should have had a public beta to help iron out or identify problems that could arise at launch. Not to mention give the game more publicity.
I love how in the first day tho they’ve responded to the issues and released a patch already and have made the matchmaking more consistent. It’s a great game and I feel like it’s just going to get better
This game is being ridiculed by ppl for PC issues and anti cheat. Ps5 still has some crashes and matchmaking issues too. Still the most solid launch I've seen in a while since most games are way worse. In my opinion its great. Love it. Want ppl to play it. But thats MY opinion so dont listen to me as a buy guide.

I feel the same way. I was hoping the launch would be smooth but I knew it would likely have issues. I've had a ton of crashes personally and after my last one I'm thinking of just leaving it for like a week before coming back because my gpu drivers just didnt even restart themselves after this last crash, and i had to restart my pc by pressing the power button lmao
I csn t even think about going higher difficulties rn with this running like 20 fps on my machine and crashing back to back xD
@@MysticLukaoh. Thats weird. I have an old ass gpu but those werent like a system crash when the proccess exits because drivers fail or gpu can't keep up or whaever, but like internal game memory management errors that were resulting in it getting terminated. Theres no entrance in event viewer and I got few times the error "cannot write to memory at 0xSOMERANDOMVALUE". They prolly got some pointers wrong, but it should be getting fixed soon.
@@mr.rabbit5642 I turned all my settings down to medium with motion blur/antialiasing/screen space reflections all turned to off, and textures specifically turned to low, and just had a nice long 5 ish hour play session tonight without a single crash. I think something is entirely fucked for AMD gpus when the settings are increased. Very weird.
The game itself is an absolute blast. Love it when it works as it should. Only problem is that the game has crashed on me well over 6 times, maybe closer to 10, booting me from games, connectivity issues, quick play breaking.
I hope to god they get them sorted soon because they have a true gem on their hands, honestly
I hate how they dont balance it for 1 player because I got so much distractions I would be a horribld teammate! Every 10 minutes I have to do something around the house.
Only got 1 crash since 4 am this morning. I get stuck in walls when joining others but man the game is crisp! I’m loving it so far and the 40$ price tag I think will help the game soar for a hot minute
Im having an absolute blast, had a mission with 3 randoms where we were barely able to make out with constant swarms attacking from our rear and front as we had to make our way through the frozen lake in the last t-15 minutes left, cutting through a nest to the exfill too just to use all of our bazookas, sentries, calling big booms from the sky, and getting thrown off the cliff by the shockwave while defending ourselfs from big bugs 😂
I’ve been in a four man on ps5, had minimal issues all day, couple funny visual bugs.
I’m just concerned about the community order percentage going backwards
Not including the launch issues, the game still has some big problems to address. There is almost no real progression to be made in the game right now. There are only a handful of weapons, just one or two for each category assault rifle, marksman, shotgun, smg, pistol, and laser. None of them have any upgrades available.
Stratagems you can upgrade with samples, but it is legitimately the lazyiest upgrade skill tree I've ever seen in a game. Each category of stratgem has only 3 upgrades available, and almost all of them are EXACTLY the same... a 10% cooldown reduction. The few exceptions that are different have even less impact. You can buy every strategem upgrade available and might not even notice a difference in game.
The only real progression we have is leveling up, and using requisition to buy new stratagems.. but that list is very short and your level is a huge wall to get over while having to use the same few loadouts for 50+ hours.
If you’re a ps5 user the only issues I’ve experienced is matchmaking but that should resolve shortly I was able to get into a game with people a couple of times this morning. No crashes and everything works pretty fluently across the board as far as performance goes.

There is no excuse for a game to launch like this, crashes, server issues, getting kicked to desktop. Arrowhead should have run a Beta to stress test their servers.

No problems on my end but sadly it's not Arrowheads choice, as they partnered with Sony, and Sony only does internal testing.

When is someone going to point out that every single game that’s coop or always online that comes out for pc day one, will always have server issues. But once they are stabilized game play becomes more smooth. I’m so use to hearing this it doesn’t move me one way or the other
Matchmaking is still having issues. Mainly the only consistent issue I have. Matchmaking seems to work 80% of the time on that red-ish planet at the Automatons sector, but fails all the time at the Termininds sector where I mainly want to matchmake. One crash so far on PS5. Luckily the game boots up really quick to where you were last.

Me and my mates had a couple hard crashes at the start of the night but overall, we played roughly two hours max settings. Ran like butter and was very fun. Even someone with a 6 yesr old computer had decent 1080p performance

I'm playing on PS5 and the game itself is phenomenal. Unfortunately I get disconnected from about half of my games due to the server issues. Hope they fix it soon.
Think my wife and i have been really lucky. Almost 0 issues since launch. One crash at cape selection on both systems that never repated after that (a 3080 era system and a 4090 era system). But, a mate couldn't get past game guard on his 5 yr old pc, despite meeting the listed minimum specs.

Completed 2 extracts with a full team otherwise mainly solo, besides that it's pretty sick, loving it so far.
For the medals they seem to be easy to accumulate at higher difficulties from where I’m at so far, the currency isn’t terrible hard to get for super credits as well as paid content not being OP or p2W. The game has a lot of issues but the base potential is deff there, I couldn’t launch it on my pc and I ended up getting it on ps5 and haven’t had too much issues. The next week or 2 will be crucial for them to get everything working as it should..also crossplay does work as I played with pc friends but quick play matching is broken so if you don’t have friends it’s could be annoying to party
I think my biggest issue so far is how it looks we will be unlocking weapons. Weapons I want to use are far down the unlock track or locked exclusively in the premium things (if I’m seeing it right). Like I want the revolver but I’m not paying the cash right now just to have it in my hands.
Personally the text on my UI bugs out every single match to be entirely illegible and useless. Maybe this is an issue with having an ultra wide monitor so I can’t be too harsh on them, it’s annoying though.
That said for a “battle pass” looking implementation it’s the best I’ve ever seen. So much opportunity to earn things in game including premium currencies over time
Yeah. Numerous other titles have had these issues on launch and they didn't face this much backlash, if you really enjoy the game you'll push through and/or wait instead of taking a tantrum and losing your s**t. I'm sure those players have games in their library that have had problems... what game doesn't? At least it's getting fixed unlike some games that have bugs or issues that devs leave in the game after moving on from it because they couldn't be bothered fixing it.
Game ran welll on my pc , crashed twice initially then after that smooth as butter. Hopefully they get matchmaking fixed

Only issue I’ve seen is that I’ve crashed twice but that’s no real issue cause I’ve never crashed during a mission oddly enough. My friend and I grinded it out for about 3 hours and had an absolute blast. Was surprised to see the mixed reviews on steam. The only thing I’d hate on it for is that I don’t see any mechs or vehicles like the first game had. To me that is the largest problem with the game as these made up nearly 1/5th of the strategems in the first game so they were a pretty large chunk of the gameplay, and it’s just not here.

Game is amazing but cant stay connected long enough to finish a match.
Very similar build to me.
Playing on PS5 and i did not have too much of an issue. In the first few hours of launch i could not join any SOS but other than that I had a single crash when some servers went down. After that it has been flawless. Been playing with a friend in some duo's action and it has been an absolute blast.
We need vehicles badly. The bigger maps are a chore to run around in
I never even knew this game existed til two before launch when ign did a final preview I saw the gameplay and was immediately intrigued and preordered it I’m having a blast they just need to fix the servers issues!!!
Solo is ok but it’s meant to be a team game and then turns out you can’t play as a team .. 2 hours in and finally got a quick match after loads of failed to connect to lobby messages , then added the others as friends then was easy joining their matches and had loads of fun .. like any game these days though, never expect everything to be working as it should on release

Yeah mines crashed once and server kicked once but no big deal. Still had fun with 6 completed missions. Like with the amount of people crowding servers there's going to be issues but it definitely has big potential to be even bigger. I love it so far!
I will say damn i was not expecting how quickly we would be getting medals already getting some fun new weapons am looking forward to testing this weekend
My only gripe with the game is the pay to win system. The only guns you can really get going forward will be paid for. I think they should have only made cosmetics for $$$, especially given that the game costs $40. I wish the weapons could be upgraded at least. The liberator is fun but after difficulty 4 there's no point in bringing it.
I can’t play with other people for some reason. I’m on ps5 and I tried to turn off cross play. i’ve saw that it helps but it hasn’t for me. Is anyone else having this problem?

You might be on to something, I’ve seen people give bad reviews because it’s the only way they can clickbait people and get views don’t listen to other people in this games case make an opinion of your own
there is no issues once they fix the servers this games insane!!!
Everything I press ESC key just crashes so I can not even access any settings so no videos settings or sensitivity or keybinds also pressing O for social pa el crashes. I don't even think I'm on right resolution game looks off but I can not check because game crashes

I get frustration, I got lucky and added a guy I was able to play a match with so once we were able to connect with each other we had no issues

I'm using RX 7800 XT and I couldn't get past tutorial, crashing 3 times and also closing Discord in the process, which was interesting.
I'm suspicious that the problematic anti-cheat is maybe looking at discord as a cheat.
Regarding performance, I manage to get past tutorial by lowering graphics settings and turning off Discord... After that I returned everything on very high, started using Discord and in 6h of my playtime got only one crash with game running and looking great in the meantime.
Definitely wish them to sort technical issues ASAP because this game is hella fun.
Weird thing is, I'm in a RTX 3060TI high settings and the FPS stays stuck 97. I really ain't complaining but it's weird
So is there no gear customization stat wise? Everyone can be using the same exact guns and the same exact armor? The grind seems like its only for levels and cosmetics.
I'm sure it feels great to shoot and kill enemies but I'm seeing the same issues Anthem had.
It's fun at first, and then you get bored real quick doing the same thing over and over. The fun gameplay loop no longer becomes fun and is just a thing you do in the game.
Only two factions (for now), no vehicles, microtransactions and a grindy system for unlockables that don't seem all that interesting and are too few and far between. That's not including the broken matchmaking, crashes and the usual anticheat program that causes more harm than good.
Standards for games have dropped pretty considerably. They have a good concept and potentially fun gameplay loop, but the glaring issues and lack of content (which takes forever to unlock anyway) is going to stop me from buying it for now.
Only crashed once so far but that’s not my issue. The problem I’m having is failing to join other players through quick play.
Rough launch day touched this one too I see. Well at least the game seems to be fun so far. That in game store makes me very nervous though.
I havent been checking around but how id the sound in the game? Is it the case that you can hear good directional sound? Enough to be able to hear encroaching enemies behind you through the chaos?

Very nice review brother. You mention everything a real gamer expects. Looks good in first person as a shooter, and fun in third person. Decent customization, teamwork based, good graphics. Yeah im gonna try it , definitely for 40$

I was having connectivity issues with a mate of mine and kept disconnecting back to my Destroyer. Has anyone else had this issue with private matches, and if so, anyone know a fix?
BF4 launch was the worse for me. This launch, I had 1 crash and that was it for 10 hours game today. so 9.5/10 kind of day for sure.
This is exactly why I'm still team green 😂 amd software support is garbage no matter how good they claim the hardware is they always have software issues supporting it and are so slow to react to those issues

What about the anti-cheat engine being unsafe? Seems like a major problem according to the steam reviews and you haven't mentioned that.
I don't know enough to be an authority on this so I'm not confident to comment on it. I know it's a contentious point but I'm not that technical!
Thats a reasonable stance to take, but you should at least mention that it is a point of contention. People will go from here to the steam reviews and wonder why youtubers haven't been covering this. I get not wanting to weigh in, but i am a bit baffled at how there is a major controversy brewing away that no one seems to be talking about away from steam reviews and reddit

and I can't get into solo mission without online connection, that is super bad
Been playing coop all night long. I had no idea there were any issues. But I was on PS5, launches tent be a bit smoother on consoles in general I feel.
I got 220 super credits without paying I’m level 5 it’s not difficult to get them I found some in a world on my second mission solo and if you save them you can use them to purchase the next premium war bond

I will say. There is a poster in the tutorial that tells you that you aren't meant to swin with the suit. So easy to miss but I really like the world of helldivers
