Nice video, I learned a few things. I rebound my strategem call in keys to the arrow keys, and this lets me run around while calling them in. When you start reloading a weapon (Static animation), cancel the animation because, for example a big a** crusher is charging at you , the reload animation start where you left it
A super important thing the game doesn't tell you at all is how eagle stratagems work which is terrible because they are super OP. The way it works is all your eagle stratagems are lumped together on a fighter plane and the "uses" is not a limit per mission like helldivers 1, it is how many times it can be used before you send your eagle on a rearming trip. So effectively you can burn these on the super short cooldown (15 seconds or 7 with the upgrade) and when you have downtime send your eagle to rearm. The only downside is all the stratagems share a cooldown and rearm but it's 7 seconds oh no what ever will I do, and the rearm is about 2-3 minutes so it's less than a lot of the orbital strikes.
Another tip with the Artillery setup, lets say you have 3 yellow next to eachother and yellow was what you would call next when using it, it will fire all 3 yellow together, same with any other colors. I personally find it best to stagger the colors, but I could see it being fun to drop 5 nukes in a single spot in 1 call as well.....
I'm on PC and won't be using macros. That's try-hard shit, not in the spirit of the game. "War isn't fair" you say? Then get out of your chair and join the army.
I’d like to also point out there are planet modifiers that can scramble/swap your stratagem inputs so that resupply macro could turn into an air strike if you aren’t careful
I've actually made enough super credits to buy the premium pack and one armor set no real cash needrd. Very generous if you play hard to get the credits.
Im praying they're able to add content regularly enough to keep the game afloat. The core gameplay and bones are so good and ripe for expansion. I really dont want this to end up on the huge pile of live service games that die in their first year
If you didn't play the first game. It had a whole other faction to fight. By the end they also had 3 additional difficulties, nearly doubled the base game's weapons and strategies, added a new enemies to each faction including a super boss for each faction. And that was with waaaaay less funding and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less eyes on the game.
@@judesemo Yeah but you know how game companies go nowadays once they make it big they're not obligated to keep going. Sometimes they just take the money/fame and run, like palworld. That or they just aren't prepared for it and don't know how to keep people interested.
I'm just imagining a mode with dozens of players taking on a full horde of enemies across a massive battlefield. Probably won't happen but is was a nice thought.
Worth mentioning with the ping system you can ping a teammates ping to 'confirm' it, with a voiceline indicating you're going towards it. You can also un-ping your own ping by re-pinging it in case you did it by accident or something.
I believe that everything that they don't teach you in the game Helldivers 2 is part of the game's satire. It sends players into a total war scenario with minimal training, which encourages cooperation amongst team members. This also makes veteran players train newbies based on their experience. The knowledge of the game is mostly passed on through word of mouth. This is one of the great things about Helldivers 2 - it forces players to learn by doing, putting their knowledge into practice, and teaching others on their team.
A very important tip I see no one mention: USE YOUR BOOSTERS! These are permanent bonuses that can really help your squad complete the mission. To equip it, select the hexagon on the right when you're picking your strategems. Do note: only one type of booster can be active at a time but this doesn't mean you can only have one booster active. Be sure to talk to the others so you can get the full benefits.
A secondary tip for supporting. If you aren't really supporting, then be on the look out for someone who is. They probably have heals or ammo for you. Heck, they're probably looking for you too. Link up with them and let them support you.
ProTip!!! Aim mode toggle (FPV/3PV) can be done (only if you use hold mouse aim, which is default) can be set so tapping RMB uses FPV, and holding uses 3PV. This is FAR preferable to using MMB to toggle into FPV.
On PS5 you can use the touchpad to navigate the map and place markers, quick tip, when you loose everything from dieing and you get back on the field, navigate the map with the touchpad and mark your lost weapons and samples so you can easily find them.
I'm diving into Helldivers 2 with zero experience so each of these tips will be useful and it's nice to know you can build a support build as I love to help fellow gamers in general.
Tip shoot the charger with a recoiless in one of the legs the armor will come off and then just shoot the leg with your primary and boom its dead makes them seem like nothing now
some tips from my group, disposable anti tank are over looked, they are SOOOO much better than the recoilless it's not even funny, faster follow up shots and in the time it takes to reload and use all you're shots, you can have like.. .4 disposable AT shots that can be picked up by anyone fired and forgotten. tesla coils great for area denial along with the orbital shotgun, 500kg is bunker buster, it destroys all that is armoured...as long as it hits. the auto cannons is great, but the rail gun is better. and with a back pack of ammo it's WAY more versatile. two man battle buddy teams using both of those weapons with orbital lasers and 500kg bombs make short work of just about anything. we have been cruising the higher difficulties with that setup. theres also an anti air emplacement you can get that drops all drop pods for the clankers basically automatically. napalm is fantastic for the bugs and the fire grenades work similarly well when paired with the auto shotgun the breaker. after you orient satellite dishes they show where everything is on the map. there are nukes that can be found un-exploded on the map, they are great when in a shit situation and you want everything dead. bile titans CAN be killed with rail guns if the placement's correct and they are over charged. the robots are susceptible to suppressive fire and thus can be pushed back and have their aim fucked with.
For the love of Liberty please don't respawn me in the middle of a group of opps. I can't tell you how many times I've been respawned just to get instantly rekilled 😅
If you can, try to throw the the backup request up on high ground. That way when your teammate(s) land, they'll already have high ground advantage, which also benefits you 🫵
I think I discovered something by accident last night and I haven't had the time to try it again today, but I was able to stick an orbital strike marker onto bugs instead of just tossing it on the ground and hoping they'd still be there when the strike landed. I threw the marker out in a dust storm and couldn't see much, but I saw the light moving around and come toward me with the rest of the swarm before they got hit. Could be useful when you want to make sure an elite unit gets hit instead of moving out of range.
Dude a gun range on the ship before you drop. That way you can tweak your settings and then actually use it, instead of just a Hail Mary against a charger 😂
I've been wanting a shooting range and mod station on the ship once I unlocked all the weapons. I walked into every mission experimenting with every gun.
You missed the 2 person vaults but maybe that's more obvious than blowing up the metal containers 😊 Thanks for the video! I got a lot of little tips I didn't know. My favorite was healing another party member
This game is dope! I should've bought this game on release because I didn't know how good it was going to be. Crazy hours is going to be put in Hell Divers 2 👊🏿
You saved yourself a bit of headache with early issues. Unless you had friends to fill out a squad and a fairly new and powerful machine, you would have been in for a bad time.
i would like to say i am thankful someone made this but also remember to mention that the team who made the game intended for you to drop in with the same training the helldivers get which means barely any so you have to learn by yourself its good someone is willing to teach i had a great friend teaching me first time too but i learnt most of the controls on my own just going around clicking bottoms because i was bored walking or accidentally doing it when intense combat was happening around me great vid tho definetly helpful
One thing I hope they do with the weapons or future ones is the addition for load out customization and Sight swaps or stuff that improves basically anything regarding weapon handling Basically have a gunsmith I know it cuts into the fact that they won't be able to market guns as their own weapons but they could just make it so buying those or earning those unlocks those attachments as well
One thing I wish I knew sooner was the premium tree is all garbage except for the explosive assult rifle. The last one that is 80 medals is pure garbage.
Number one “things I wish I knew sooner” … the fact that HellDivers existed!! I was a month late to the party and never knew of the first game. 😅 GOAT of Games
Never thought about using Macros for the Stratigems (mostly because I've never bothered using Macros before), but honestly, typing it out mid battle is part of the fun. maybe after a ton of gameplay I'll consider it, but for now, it adds to the enjoyment.
I dunno if others have experienced this as well, but I have a lot of my “teammates” kill me multiple times in a game to steal the samples you drop, not everyone is trying to help you, be cautious
This game deserves GoTY for me. Me and my hubby and friends have been looking for a game to play together, as we are tired of current options (*cough cough* Diablo 4), and this game popped up. SO FRICKING FUN! Thanks for your tips, I learned a lot! My favorite one is the keyboard macro program! Definitely going to be taking advantage of that!
thanks for the tips! mostly the support tips. i wasn't aware there's more team oriented gameplay to it, if only quick match teammates didn't scatter around the map 😅, itll come in handy for people aiming for roles to play in a squad or a team packed w/ firepower already.
There are weapons that work in duo formations, and the game can really start feeling tactical in a squad of gamers who are also friends and on Comms. Random matches are really for efficiency in farming. Just scatter and close asap.
i think it'd be a cool idea for the game to implement an in-game voting system or something like that. npcs talk about how theres a vote coming up. maybe we can choose a certain leader that gives different month or so long buffs like shorter cool downs or more reinforcements
As someone who grew up watching starship troopers i never thought i'd get to play a game based off of it wild times, also im glad i looked up this video because i went in blind for an hour reminds me of dark souls but im not dying 24/7.
We point them out for people who need them with much lower dexterity or disabilities. We've run into hundreds of players at higher difficulties very clearly using them. It's a PvE game with no competitive aspect.
Love the laser rover because it catches those sudden random attacks from the rear! That we all know can be extremely overwhelming when input is delayed when getting attacked, But really wish they would update the rover and allow it to only activate when you aim at an object, can’t blame them, it can be annoying getting caught in the beam as well inflicting damage on yourself as well as your team. Looking forward to future updates and patches. Lastly also would be nice if we had the option to turn on/off friendly fire to prevent these issues, including a close game/ save option as well!
I’d like to officially coin the phrase “Bop” for Bot Drops. Had that little epiphany the other night. lol But seriously, some new tips and tricks in here I hadn’t figured out yet. Thanks!!!
This is a really good video. The tips aren't obvious and they are extremely helpful. I'm a new player, and I feel like I, too, can be a True Hero and spread Managed Democracy across the galaxy!
Autocannons and pretty much any explosive weapon barring the explosive Liberator can close bug holes. The AC is just best at it It can also knock out Spore Spewers, destroy radio towers for the Terminate Broadcast optional objective and Automaton communications system POIs
I agree with every point. Especially the battle tactics. Always keep moving. In this game it's not always best to shoot everything that moves. Like when you're abt to enter a nest, and then a teammate shoot the herd behind you. A herd that, if everyone laied down, they would go past you. Instead now, you're surrounded. Stealth in this game is no sin, actually going slower can mean you're going faster sometimes (more time left = more XP). I find Stealth especially effective when going solo. Hah, that artillery tip. I think moat thought of that. See so many doing it. No wonder. We have all been do the same acadmeies - "FOR DEMOCRACY!!"
1 tip I would add is when running trying to call in a stratagem place your camera to the left/right or even behind to keep sprinting instead of standing still
I love the fact that there was a commercial with Arnold Schwarzenegger before the video and I just thought how amazing it is to have Arnold Schwarzenegger in Helldivers
Not gonna lie i thought this was an ODST game but it honesty took me a few missions and some youtube research to figure out whats going on to fall in love with it
I know it's stupid but you didn't explain what what missile launches first but you provide awesome information that I didn't know keep it up helldivers 👌
This indeed is a great game and I strongly encourage everyone to unlock the following items. If you like the machine gun work toward to get the Stalwart gun since it is superior to the machine gun and you could reloaded as you move. The guard dog is also another good device to unlock since it is a flying drone that will target those pesky little bots and bugs as well as assist you with other problematic targets. Another important thing to remember is that this is a team base game and true team effort you can have more fun. But if you happen to be one of those who prefer to run solo then please set your mission parameters to private. Since it is damn annoying to join into someone's match only to find that you get kicked out because they didn't want you there and they weren't aware of the private match setting.
As an old Vet of HD1, I think people should learn about the ping on the map. It can help you know where are the enemies location which pretty much tell one to be wary about. On HD2, fighting from elevated area is pretty helpful where enemies that attack you face to face cannot reach you. Combo strategem affect. These I tested and it's good to do what i want. HD1 and HD2 required speed and maneuver. I would not recommended heavy armor because its a slow crawl versus too many fast moving enemies. HD1 and HD2, not all weapons are effective. Majority of weapons suck. Wait for later DLC weapons. In HD1, 5 to 6 weapons out of 23 primary weapons are affective. The rest sucks. Be proficient with pistols. I recommended using the pistol on small fries. Some weapons work better than others. If 1 weapon takes out a medium size armor enemy with 6-8 shot, try a different weapon to take the enemy out quicker. Don't bother shooting a heavily armor enemy with a pistol or primary gun, use a better weapon and or strategem to take it out. It's like shooting a tank with a pistol and rifle. Use an rpg, mines, detonate bomb and call in supplies to take it out. As an old Vet of HD1 on ps3/ps4/ps5, learn the quick recall in by heart. It would be 2nd nature. Out of 10 tries, i can pretty much call in 8.
They should ad stim buffs. You can unlock new ones and have one buff added to the stim. Things like increasing movement speed, damage resistance for a the length of time the stim is active, highlighting enemies or enemy types, maybe increased fire rate? I dunno. Stuff like that.
one tip i learned is that if your going to try to take out alot of outposts especially the blitz ones i think, use a grenade launcher cause you can take out those outposts in seconds with that thing

I personally find it best to stagger the colors, but I could see it being fun to drop 5 nukes in a single spot in 1 call as well.....
Using macros feels cheap. A very important part of the game's moment to moment gameplay is the stress and skill of using strategems mid firefight.
Yeah, true chads memorize their stratagems. Macros are automaton propaganda.
True.. I’d rather panic-fail-die than run a macro..
The rush is part of the game, even when combos are not remembered by heart
Get good, stop being a scrub
I'm on PC and won't be using macros. That's try-hard shit, not in the spirit of the game. "War isn't fair" you say? Then get out of your chair and join the army.
I’d like to also point out there are planet modifiers that can scramble/swap your stratagem inputs so that resupply macro could turn into an air strike if you aren’t careful
I've actually made enough super credits to buy the premium pack and one armor set no real cash needrd. Very generous if you play hard to get the credits.
Absolutely. In just 2-3 days, we managed to do the same.
Im praying they're able to add content regularly enough to keep the game afloat. The core gameplay and bones are so good and ripe for expansion. I really dont want this to end up on the huge pile of live service games that die in their first year
new planets and new monsters... paid dlc even would be great
If you didn't play the first game.
I propose event called
Resources Contingency:
Where we can equip only 2 stratagems per mission, and some stratagems are locked.
I'm just imagining a mode with dozens of players taking on a full horde of enemies across a massive battlefield. Probably won't happen but is was a nice thought.
Right, wave based survival would be nice
The devs have said they've talked about this kind of thing. A multi squad based campaign, but the way multi-player is set up makes it difficult to do.
starship troopers extermination is 16 player co-op vs a swarm of bugs :)
Sounds like boss raid to me. Definitely doable and i can actually see it happening. Maybe like 2 teams of 4 or something
this comment crashed my game
On PS5, I didn't know you could bind a button to "instant grenade." That was an instant game changer.
How do you do that
@@hekidayo Just read the keybinds
ProTip!!!
Aim mode toggle (FPV/3PV) can be done (only if you use hold mouse aim, which is default) can be set so tapping RMB uses FPV, and holding uses 3PV. This is FAR preferable to using MMB to toggle into FPV.
Thats huge. Ty, fellow Helldiver!
On PS5 you can use the touchpad to navigate the map and place markers, quick tip, when you loose everything from dieing and you get back on the field, navigate the map with the touchpad and mark your lost weapons and samples so you can easily find them.
my favorite is changing dive prone from ALT to double pressing spacebar
I'm diving into Helldivers 2 with zero experience so each of these tips will be useful and it's nice to know you can build a support build as I love to help fellow gamers in general.
If you use macros for the key codes then you are not a super citizen
That would be so incredibly lame...
It's actually cringe. It's a pve game and the codes add fun to it. Some people are ridiculous
Code for I can't so you also shouldn't be able to, aka peasant citizen
EAT user here, I like EAT better than recoilless because if I die, I can just call another EAT because its cooldown is faster
For the love of Liberty please don't respawn me in the middle of a group of opps. I can't tell you how many times I've been respawned just to get instantly rekilled 😅
If you can, try to throw the the backup request up on high ground. That way when your teammate(s) land, they'll already have high ground advantage, which also benefits you 🫵
@@skittlznt2611 Anakin begs to defer lol
Nonsense, soldier! You are but a round in the chamber of the glorious gun of freedom!
Worse is when they spawn u 1000m away from you support weapon 😤😤
I think I discovered something by accident last night and I haven't had the time to try it again today, but I was able to stick an orbital strike marker onto bugs instead of just tossing it on the ground and hoping they'd still be there when the strike landed. I threw the marker out in a dust storm and couldn't see much, but I saw the light moving around and come toward me with the rest of the swarm before they got hit. Could be useful when you want to make sure an elite unit gets hit instead of moving out of range.
You definitely can, but it's pretty hard to do consistently...especially if you don't want to be near it when it goes off.
Those soft spots on spitters and chargers take full explosive damage but only ten percent of bullet damage
Well, it's +100% and +10%, so explosive does double damage, but regular ammo does 110%, or +10% damage, whatever is easier to understand
Dude a gun range on the ship before you drop. That way you can tweak your settings and then actually use it, instead of just a Hail Mary against a charger 😂
I've been wanting a shooting range and mod station on the ship once I unlocked all the weapons. I walked into every mission experimenting with every gun.
For a good laugh try crouching as you carry the artillery shells. My dude has amazing core strength 😂
You can bind strata gem controls to arrow keys so you can call in strata gems while moving.
9:38 you can also use a weapon like the sniper or an auto cannon to crack the containers
Thank you for calling them Mags and Rounds
You don't like clips? :P
@@LegacyGamingUS 😉
You missed the 2 person vaults but maybe that's more obvious than blowing up the metal containers 😊 Thanks for the video! I got a lot of little tips I didn't know. My favorite was healing another party member
This game is dope! I should've bought this game on release because I didn't know how good it was going to be. Crazy hours is going to be put in Hell Divers 2 👊🏿
You saved yourself a bit of headache with early issues. Unless you had friends to fill out a squad and a fairly new and powerful machine, you would have been in for a bad time.
i would like to say i am thankful someone made this but also remember to mention that the team who made the game intended for you to drop in with the same training the helldivers get which means barely any so you have to learn by yourself its good someone is willing to teach i had a great friend teaching me first time too but i learnt most of the controls on my own just going around clicking bottoms because i was bored walking or accidentally doing it when intense combat was happening around me great vid tho definetly helpful
reloading is faster when there is a round in the chamber, not necessarily in the magazine.
One thing I hope they do with the weapons or future ones is the addition for load out customization and Sight swaps or stuff that improves basically anything regarding weapon handling
Basically have a gunsmith
I know it cuts into the fact that they won't be able to market guns as their own weapons but they could just make it so buying those or earning those unlocks those attachments as well
Supply pack isn’t only ammo. It’s grenades and stims and it’s hella clutch and the only pack I use
Yep, was just a suggestion for those that need it.
I dunno if others have experienced this as well, but I have a lot of my “teammates” kill me multiple times in a game to steal the samples you drop, not everyone is trying to help you, be cautious
People are just dumb and don't realize samples are shared (along with everything else).
Awesome to see Legacy Gaming covering Helldivers 2! Thank you, Team!
Fun fact : if you pick grenade with already a grenade in you hand you get a fre grenade
Just scatter and close asap.
i recently got into helldivers 2 and this video is really helpful. thank you!
I did not know about the crates, scope and fire rate mode. Thank you soo much for these awesome tips
i think it'd be a cool idea for the game to implement an in-game voting system or something like that. npcs talk about how theres a vote coming up. maybe we can choose a certain leader that gives different month or so long buffs like shorter cool downs or more reinforcements
Amazing tips in here, specifically the macros and the supply backpack
As someone who grew up watching starship troopers i never thought i'd get to play a game based off of it wild times, also im glad i looked up this video because i went in blind for an hour reminds me of dark souls but im not dying 24/7.
thanks for this man I play a lot of division 2 as my main game and so some of these tips are key I just copped this last night
using macros to do strats takes the fun out of it
We point them out for people who need them with much lower dexterity or disabilities.
Lastly also would be nice if we had the option to turn on/off friendly fire to prevent these issues, including a close game/ save option as well!
started this game today, and broo what an amazing super funny game, and now with this tips I can play better, thanks
I’d like to officially coin the phrase “Bop” for Bot Drops. Had that little epiphany the other night. lol
But seriously, some new tips and tricks in here I hadn’t figured out yet. Thanks!!!
This is a really good video. The tips aren't obvious and they are extremely helpful. I'm a new player, and I feel like I, too, can be a True Hero and spread Managed Democracy across the galaxy!
There are broken, unused Hellbombs scattered throught the field. They can be shot and detonated. Super useful in a pinch against Bile Titans.
Just started today and loving it
Autocannons and pretty much any explosive weapon barring the explosive Liberator can close bug holes. The AC is just best at it
It can also knock out Spore Spewers, destroy radio towers for the Terminate Broadcast optional objective and Automaton communications system POIs
With some luck and slight elevation, AC can also destroy the automaton factory buildings, like a grenade can.
This game brought back my love for gaming
First perspective? I thought it's called Scope View. The Marker feature was helpfully explained.
No wonder. We have all been do the same acadmeies
- "FOR DEMOCRACY!!"
1 tip I would add is when running trying to call in a stratagem place your camera to the left/right or even behind to keep sprinting instead of standing still
“There is an equivalent button on the PlayStation controller, you can look it up”
Yeah, great. Thanks for your effort.
WIld tip: on PC, you can set it up your mouse to go to 1st person with a tap of the right click, or 3rd person with a hold of the right click
your production quality is legit :D
I love the fact that there was a commercial with Arnold Schwarzenegger before the video and I just thought how amazing it is to have Arnold Schwarzenegger in Helldivers
Pretty useful tips & tricks. Thanks mate!
You can also zoom out on the mini map, very helpful to see the whole map.
Man, I can’t believe your including navigating the mini map, something your taught in the tutorial…as a map hack.
The autocannon reloads in two stripper clips of 5. Always reload when at half or below half to significantly reduce the reload time.
I've been playing so much and only just now realised you can use the supply pack on yourself. N e a t ! (Thank you for making this video)
Not gonna lie i thought this was an ODST game but it honesty took me a few missions and some youtube research to figure out whats going on to fall in love with it
Good lord there's a lot they forgot or neglected to explain. Thanks for the info.
Favorite tip, light armor and keep moving as a group.
If you are going to talk about controls, you should mention both the keyboard and controller inputs. You dont need a playstation. You can look it up.
So can you, it's in your menu
Very well explained. I will buy the game tomorrow.
They should ad stim buffs. You can unlock new ones and have one buff added to the stim. Things like increasing movement speed, damage resistance for a the length of time the stim is active, highlighting enemies or enemy types, maybe increased fire rate? I dunno. Stuff like that.
For PS5, I swapped all my button related to the D-Pad across to the Shape pad and vise-versa. This makes it either to call stratagems on the run
So do you pick anywhere on the touch pad and it counts as the right direction?
@@netero3233 yes. Just be aware, you have to swap everything. This include the interact button and crouch commands.
That's gameplay looks incredible!!! Damn i need this!
W video dude. I'm subbing!
one tip i learned is that if your going to try to take out alot of outposts especially the blitz ones i think, use a grenade launcher cause you can take out those outposts in seconds with that thing
Had no idea those containers could be opened
