    I used to use the Blue Jeans but now switched over to QED Performance Audio 40i. The difference was obvious enough on my Adam Tensor Delta Speakers using hegel hd30 dac to micromega as-400 amp. The QED is more open & detailed on top end and it was obvious enough for me. Although I think lot of ppl might prefer the smoother sound of Blue Jeans.

    The 590s and now this. You are my brother from another mother! I bought a used Evergreen USB and jitterbug from AQ and once my system was assembled I called BS in that stuff. The BJC interconnects totally floored me compared to my "good" cheap RCAs. Then Mogami Studio Gold XLR. I had 30yo Monster speaker cables that I replaced because my buddy gave me grief, the BJC white ten was no better, except for the connector, but I'm already regretting not getting spades at one end.

    I changed the RCA plugs of my Cardas 33AWG tonearm cable from Neutrik NYS373(gold plated brass) to Furutech FP126(G) (gold plated pure copper center plong/gold plated brass ground). FP126(G) sounds more transparent than the NYS373. Then, from FP126(G) to AQ king cobra RCA plugs (silver ("hanging") plated pure copper). The AQ king cobra RCA plugs give best transparent sound I ever tried. I also tried Blue Jean LC-1 cables with AQ king cobra RCA jacks and they sound so good and well balanced but not as transparent as AQ Water. As per your advice, I will try the Mogami later.

    What is rarely mentioned is SYNERGY, source-cable--amp-cable-speakers
    Cheap cables can have better synergy than expensive ones, the only question is whether you will pay 50 times the price for only 5% improvement
    Start with cheap cables and go step by step towards better cable, if you can borrow better cables, borrow and try, until you get a sound you like, don't waste money on something you haven't heard in your system, "NICE CABLE" is NOT better cable

    I upgraded my "new" Oehlbach cables which were good with the Magami cables based on this review and testing.It was expensive for me, but totally worth it. • @gerard3797
    @gerard3797 2 роки тому +2

    After trying some more expensive cables (RCA and speaker) mostly TQ Ultra Black line up, I have the exact same experience. Pro cables are genuinely neutral in their delivery they portray how your components sound. The more expensive cables use different allows and constructions, multi strands or different exotic materials that increase conductivity etc and different isolators to just give some additional colour in detail, or more pronounced bass etc. I actually like that in my desktop system because you are sitting very close to the speakers and you benefit from every bit of extra soundstage, because there is limited room interactions. In my living room (main system), however I prefer the “Pro” cables because otherwise it imbalances my already balanced system. So with everything it really depends. Put your money in components and clean power supply components first. Upgraded power supply in my experience reduces noise and not so much sound. It is a well upgrade of the system. I use also pro for that, Furutech The Empire.

    Falcon Cables - my favourite. It is a non-fancy pro audio cable. In just a glance you will notice that it is way ahead in quality than Belden. The copper looks very clean and pure in Falcon. The insulation is also highly durable. The dealer said it is made to withstand tramps of the entire crowd if laid through the ground.

    I saw something on another channel and I think he boiled it down to 2 key points. A cable can't add anything to the signal (unless it causes equipment to start oscillating). A cable can only take something away be it highs or lows.
    In y opinion you want reasonably low inductance and capacitance. You want low resistance and that requires very good quality copper. The connectors should grip the equipment very well and the material should be tarnish free.

    The "change in sound" of each of these cables is related to their impedance. The end result between cable A and cable B depends on the impedance of the send / receive interfaces + the cable. Buying an expensive cable doesn't necessarily translates into a better sound. In the HiFi world, there is often placebo effect... So trust your ears and choose what you like, not necessarily what the seller/dealer wants to sell you! Don't be fooled by "High Speed", "3D" and all other meaningless words!

    Which cables come at mostly less than 10 bucks a meter on a roll.
    Now if you wish to pay a bit extra for a bit more fancy connectors, thats all fine.
    I do this occationally aswell, but paying say 50 bucks or more for connectors

    I think i need better ears than cables - I’m not Wi-curious much but I like to watch.

    I'm using Blue Jeans cables from USA, very solid made, though I have to give opinion that their RCA male to male cable that connect my Fostex HP-A3 DAC/preamp and NAD M22 V2 power amplifier does cause a larger buzz on the speakers when in idle, so I switch to use normal RCA which was gave when I bought Audinst HUD-MX2, in short it's really not recommended to buy too expensive cables, choose the right and affordable for your sound system. One thing merits discussion, regarding the buzz causing by the RCA, I suspect is due to the extra metal near the output point, instead the normal RCA is more plastic instead of metal, so it does not cause problem, more premium metal does not mean better in this case, it may cause more problems, depend which signal chain state and gears used I think. The buzz does not happen that much when connected to a Class D Audio SDS-470C power amplifier.

    Mogami and Blue Jeans work for me. $40 interconnects. That's all I need. Yep. Pretty sure.

    Nice and informative video. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
    Question about the interconnect cabels:
    Do they work in car audio, too? Or would you choose other cables?

    everyone should ask themselves why there are no measurements ever when it comes to outlandish statements involving audio cables... I mean great measuring tools are quite accessible these days. if a cable makes such tremendous difference in sound over a different cable, i'm sure an oscilloscope or a spectrometer would pick that right up. :}

    Hi. I'm trying to find the cable that is your favorite. The 3rd cable on the video, but when I hit the links, they don't look the same. I believe you said Mogami, but the cable on the link has a different connecter. How good is the connecter on the amazon link for Mogami?

    Back in the day... I followed the same principle of just trying/buying studio/pro grade belden cables and interconnects...and although ...like all curious hifi people I have tried, explored, borrowed and listened to other much more expensive hifi brands..and while I will say they did subtly influence and change the sound signature and tone etc, etc, but I always felt the beldens were always just right for me and my systems.
    After all it's all personal and subjective really....and luckily it seems I have cheaper tastes LOL...as even speaker cable I prefer ofc cables than these silver or silvered hybrids.
    That said.... I would have still bought the more expensive cables...if they had sounded better!

      I’m still using them even though I have much more expensive newer cables from different brands.

    My experience: From DIY shop red-black speaker cable to Cable Talk was a huge improvement. From Cable Talk to Nordost no noticeable improvement. Same for interconnect; hear huge improvement when switch to Monster. Ungraded to Silteach can't hear any difference . Guess that was my equipment's limit
