How do you rate your two speaker cables the Mogomi 4132 VS the w 3082? I made both of them and can tell much difference. Today, which do you think is the best one?
Thar, I had to stop and write this directly to you. Thank you!! Your content with cables is so refreshing and educational. Cabling is extremely important and yes there are those that say simply using a strand of wire is enough, but the reality is that cabling is a crucial part of an audio system. With that said, your series showing how to make the cables to me is invaluable and puts quality cabling available to those of us that live in reality and can’t spend hundreds of dollars for a single cable. I will purchase from you affiliated link as I want to support your content and just to let you know, I did follow through on building a set of speaker cables for my mains and the difference was noticeable and the cost was much much more bearable. Good job and once again thank you.
Fantastic work! Those look fantastic! I bought these assembled from Worlds Best Cables on Amazon. They do make a difference in overall sound quality. I went and swapped these W3082 wires out to try out those Mica OFC Steve Huff was saying are fantastic. Steve needs to clean his ears. The sound went from lively and dynamic, to a wet blanket. Mom was here, and asked what did I do to the speakers? I told her, and she snapped at me to put the Mogami wires back in. The Mogamis are the real deal.
Excellent speaker cable indeed. Thank you for the tutorial, please bear in mind the longer you make the split ends, the worse the cable becomes as a whole. They should be ad short as possible 😊

No colouration, tight separation and coherency, very reference / studio like sound. I can understand some people may find it boring or flat, but it clicks with me and my system atm.
I went for this cable after watching your video. Wow! The resolution and detail are amazing. I had some basic QED cables before, and I was okay with the sound until I heard my friend's ESS AMT 1. Hi! Thank you for the video, I have been watching them for a long time. It seems to me that a cross -section of 2x2mm2 is quite low. As far as I can judge, the cross -section is of greatest importance. Nice day! Jrd
OK, got some. Hooked up two 7 foot cables. I hated them right away. I played my test songs for an hour. Then two, three. If someone says the cables need to burn in, I'm gonna grab them by the thro..... they do sound better. Shielded cables, suddenly it's clear, very clear. I'm missing something, maybe it's bad cables. These may very well be worth the money. Interesting, transparent is the only way I can describe them. 9 out of 10, they are getting better, the longer I listen.
Can you use one W3082 wire for Red and another for Black with the same results? I understand you would be using twice as much speaker wire. Would this work and if so, would the shielding float on both ends or would you combine with the center strand to make a larger gauge wire? Thank you! and GO GIANTS!!
Back in June 2019, you did a video "Making the best Speaker cable......" but using Mogami W3104 cable. Four 12 gauge conductors in one cable. This is what I use in my system. How does this new cable compare? Thanks again.
Hi Tharbamar, much obliged if you do a video explaining the nuanced sonic differences you hear between your DIY Mogami W3084 and Canare 4S11 speaker cables.
Hi, I did in comment in one of my cable video but don't remember which video, so W3804 is slightly more transparent, 4S11 is a bit better midrange in my system, the rest is pretty much comparable, thanks
Since I based my decision to buy this cable mostly on this video (and other forum threads), I thought i'll warn people who listen to classical music. I have to total different high quality systems (chord qutest, dynnaudio and van medevoorts Mit interlinks). On both systems the sound was clear and detailed. BUT, violins and flutes were impossible to listen to: harsh, not a natural sound. my previous MIT Shotgun speaker cable sounded much better. however, rock and sounded quite good: quick solid bass, bodied tone's from guitars etc this explains why people are enthusiastic about this cable, but they just don't happen to listen to handel:) So I'd warn those who listen to classical music, really, don't buy this cable.
Thank you for great videos. Which amplifiers speakers switch box (2 amps into 2 sets of speakers) can support A /B testing without deteriorating or changing the sound?
Interesting and educational. But my colleagues and I did a blind test several times between different quality cables. According to the results, we could not deny or confirm that higher quality cables are better than cheap ones and vice versa.
@@kennethz3366 Of course, atoll IN100 signature amplifier with dac module, rotel cd 14 mkII player / shanling EC3 cd player and focal aria 906 speakers.
@@incredifunk Maybe, but the differences are insignificant, the sound profit is small compared to the price of high-quality (read expensive) cables. Of course, even very small changes are important to an audiophile, and money is not important here.
Thank you for the great video. I am kind of confused about which cable to choose the one in this video or the Mogami W3104 that you made in the previous one. Which one do you recommend most from your experience?
Hi Tharbamar, Big fan here. I really like your work. I made several pairs of speaker cables with CANARE 4S11, after watching your video last year. I really like them. In your opinion would Mogami W3082 be a step up from C4S11?
I wonder if you could do two pairs of these to increase the gauge for higher current situations. Obviously leave the out pieces together and inner pieces together
I'll try again. In the video, to connect you use 1 cable divided into 2 pins "+" and "-" (central and screen). I want to use 2 separate cables (1 pair of a whole cable) for each acoustic unit when connecting. Therefore, I asked for advice if I put together the central core and the screen (by increasing the cross-section) in each separate cable, will it be normal for sound?!
That won’t be great idea if you want most clear sound, according to Mogami having coaxial conductors is main benefit of it but if you’re worried about the size, this cable is highly capable of handling high current bridge monoblocks driving to maximum load without any problems, I’ve seen it many times.
Love your informational videos, can't wait to build me a home theater setup. But I have a question I hope you could give me your opinion on, do you think these cables along with the likes of the 4S11 or W3102 would work well for car audio as well? I've been into the car audio for some time and although its not an ideal listening space I was curious if it would have any benefits. I also recently got a house so now I can start piecing a home setup in time as well. Hope to get some input, keep up the informative videos.👍
Great video, thanks for sharing. I was thinking of building a AQ Rocket 44 as I had some AQ 500 Bananas. Would your opinion be that Mogami 3082 is better than Rocket 44? Does soldering them make a difference? Also have you tried the Mogami 2804 speaker cable? I found these very transparent and revealing.
Thanks for the video! I noticed that in an older video you preferred Canare (4s11) over Mogami (W3104). In this more recent video, Mogami (W3082) is your preferred option. I'm trying to learn a bit about these cables. Could you explain why your preference changed? I imagine these Mogami models (W3104 x W3082) have some differences and now you find the latter even better than the Canare (4s11)?
Hi, I use them all in the different systems and also change the cables depending on what I’m paring then with, it’s all about synergy for me, so I have like 8 different pairs of cables, thanks
@@Tharbamari would like to follow up on what Felipencl asked you. I would like to build one pair on my own. Money in the price range doesn't matter that much, they are all ok. I have the Wharfedale Evo 4.4 speaker and indeal would be a bi-wiring cable.
1) The 3 "probably" references in the final half minute of the video may (or may not) have impacted on viewer perception. 2) If the cable links the amp at location "A" and speakers at locations "B" and "C", are the environments between A⇉B and A⇉C relevant? For example, room lighting, modem, television, PC, HVAC, refrigerator behind adjacent wall? If so, is speaker cable construction capable of mitigating issues? 3) If in a non-scientific, subjective listening test, a listener identifies a enormous difference in performance between cheap and expensive cables, is that perception capable of justifying the additiinal expenditure? Cheers.
I very like my sound of my system with Mogami W3104 cables especially the bass is perfect. How is the bass of your system with the W3082 compared to the W3104? Thanks!
I add a question, I read and see renowned reviewers recommending cable thickness tables which, to avoid the blanket or thick veil phenomenon, the cable sections are quite small and instead if I look at the section of the most expensive and noble cables they are always important sections. The question is which is the right section? clear that it also depends on the length but are the tables that are always equivalent to all the professionals in the sector who recommend cables with a smaller section or those important sections of the Top cables reliable? many thanks to anyone who can help me. good continuation
Thickness is nothing to do open sound, thickness and veil sound is more to do with geometry of cables, resistance and capacitance. This cable is open and realistic than anything, I think I clearly commented on that regard. There is no right or wrong you have to try to see if that is suitable for your setup.
Hello I Just Ordered The Mogami 3082 On Amazon .. Going To Try Them Out This Friday .. I Have Kimber Kable Connected To My Left And Right. What Will Be The Difference In Sound In Your Opinion? 🤔 The Kimbers Sound Good But What Ive Heard The Mogamis Will Sound Even Better ... Thanks For Your Answer 🙏
I can buy ready made 3m. 3082's direct from Mogami for quite a bit cheaper than these -- but their construction is somewhat different from yours in that the outermost coating seems to be just the black plastic material rather than the grey sheath on yours. DId you add that sheath? And in your opinion would adding the sheath plus the other items you add make them sound better?
Hi, here's a question from those of us that lack the time or skill to build the cable. Recently, I purchased a set of the World's Best Cables made with Mogami 3082 Wire & Eminence Gold Plated Banana Plugs. They come in equal-length pairs, but for my use, equal-length worked for my need. If you've tried them, do you think their sound quality approximates what you've built?
Thanks for this video but I fail to see how you've utilized the "shield" for its intended purpose. You've simply made a pair of two different gauge wires with no shield. If it were a proper shielded cable, there would be a twin core in the middle and metal wrap around them. The outer metal wrap would be connected to an earth (so that any noise induced into the cable is grounded). If you ran this cable next to any noisy power supplies you would have a noisy cable.
Seems like you don’t know how coaxial speaker cables cable works, first and foremost signal and shield is same gauge and It can go through most noisy environments without getting any interference, Shield and return is the same while shielding signal cable from noises. AND this is the most quiet speaker cable you’ll ever get.
Hi Tharbamar. I have FocalAria 906 . I was thinking to use mogami 3103 or canare 4s11 before this video. Do you think 3082 would be better for Aria ? Wich one has better bass and calm highs?
I’m using Canare 4s11 with my 906’s and they sound amazing! I was using Amazon 12 gauge stuff before.. I will be trying the Mogami 3082 for fun but very happy with my Canare wires. It’s more for fun at this point. In my area both Canare and mogami are a few dollars per foot so why not try both!
Thanks for this info comparing to other Mogami w3104. Would the w3104 provide a more extended treble, larger sweeter upper soundstage (Synergy with a warmish tilted high current class a amp) Pls let me know your thoughts!
Ordered W3082. Tell me in your opinion if you use when connecting not 2 as you have in the video, but 4 separate wires and, for example, to increase the cross-section, you can increase it simply by connecting the central + screen?! Or be sure to do a twist of the central with the central and the screen with the screen in each pair, respectively. Thanks.
Hi, thanks for the video. Searhing for this Mogami cable, I came across Mogami 2804 - almost 10 times more expensive, claiming to use PCOCC coper! Do you have any experience with this cable? Is it worth of price?
Hello Tharbarmar, can you recommend decent XLR cables for the price? You mentioned that XLR sounds better than RCAs and I am in search of good XLR cables. Thank you!
Thicker cables are pointless unless you are using drawing massive amounts of current, which in the case of a speaker you aren't, the voice coil in your biggest speaker is about the thickness of cable you can get away with, unless you are running the system flat out for hours on end. Please don't reply with filters on speakers, caps etc requiring more current as the amount they use is small.. Look at the mains cable on the back of your amp, it's designed to be able to handle a hell of a lot more current than it can draw. Amps are about 50% efficient so they use twice what they put out. So that's half the thickness of the mains cable, but 2 channels a quarter the thickness cable for each side. That's way more than enough for running 24/7 full blast without getting warm
After watching one of your videos about 2 years ago, I made a set of cables using Canare 4s11, and have been pretty happy with them. I'm about to change listening rooms, and now will need longer cables. Would you recommend using Mogami W3082 rather than Canare 4s11? Thanks for posting all of your videos; they've been really helpful as I've begun getting back into hifi audio after about a 20 year hiatus.
Did you also try to make jumpers using 3082 with shield as negative conductor? Using just the core conductor negates the effect of draining noise but maybe it doesn’t matter with such a short cable. Thanks
You make nice cables! but 14awg seems very small for my Magnat 1109 speakers (4Ohm). I want to make cables for bi-amping connection. Can you recommend cables with your experience?
How good is this cable in EMI rejection compared to Star-quad cables? Consider Mogami W3082 or 2972 star-quad. My speakers are near the TV and wifi router so it's important for me...Thank you
Do you think could also make RCA interconnect with this 3802 cable or only recommend for speaker use? Maybe you recommend different cable for RCA interconnects? Thank you for this video and all of your other ones 😁👍
Thank you for your videos! I built a Mogami a 5 foot 3103 cable from your 3104 video. Now I'd love to make W3082 cables. What is the maximum run you'd recommend for the W3082 since they're only 14 gauge? Or is that not something to worry about?
I have 15 foot W3082 cables in my rig, no issues that I can hear or tell. I'm running both Magnepan and Zu's, so both spectrums in regards to sensitivity.
Hi Thar, always love your videos. After i watch first video with W3104 (and i almost order it), now comes the second one with W3082 :) Now i am little confused and want to hear your opinion. Wich cables do you recommend for my system: EVERSOLO DMP-A6 Master Edition DAC/streamer paired with KEF Q950 speakers 3104 or 3082 ? And for interconnect do you like more mogami 2549 or 2803 ? I will also use cables for home teather KEF Q series paired with DENON AVR-X4700H receiver. I have kimber's 8VS at the moment and they are not so clear in mids and highs, sound is muffled a little. Thank you in advance for helping me.
When finding to your excellent site I built speaker cable using Mogadishu 3104. Are these new cable better, with all the subjective included. Thx in advance.
Saludos cordiales

Another great video. Thanks. Quick question, I'm undecided which speaker cables to go with w3104, w3802 and carnare 4s11. Do you have any recommendations. Thanks
How do you compare your Mogomi w3104 cable to this Mogomi w3082 cable? I followed both of your videos and made both of them, and I’m now sure I can tell the difference. What do you heard differently in them? Which do you now think is the best one?
Anyone in here read the article about an older asain guy that builds his own cabling/wiring & builds his own crossovers to reveal the sound the studios actually recorded & is meant to be heard????
Resolution has got to be one the silliest marketing terms i have ever heard for stranded copper conductors. Are you gaining "ear pixels" by spending more money? Theres snr and attentuation for sure, but what the hell does resolution even mean if not referring to bitrate or sampling frequency?
A connector on the wire can't be more revealing them bare wire is that what you're saying? Just make the wire into a banana plug, if you get a plastic q-tip and cut it about 14mm its the right size, make sure the wires are a little bit longer spread the wires evenly apart push the q-tip into the wire casing wrap the wires around the q-tip twist at the top and just solder at the top and cut any excess off. Clean the wires with a bit of acetone on a lint free rag

It's the combination of al equipment, cables and room acoustics.
Mogami recommends 175 hrs of burn in! 😉😃
W3104 is great, this design is a bit more better in noise control, resolution and accuracy.
Douk Audio VU3 will be very useful for your needs.
@Tharbamar could you share how you created the jumper cables? Are those also Mogami W3082? 9:51
Interesting and educational. But my colleagues and I did a blind test several times between different quality cables. According to the results, we could not deny or confirm that higher quality cables are better than cheap ones and vice versa.
May I ask speaker, dac and amplifier models was use to test it?
@@kennethz3366 Of course, atoll IN100 signature amplifier with dac module, rotel cd 14 mkII player / shanling EC3 cd player and focal aria 906 speakers.
Exactly. I sold my kimber kable monocle XL because there was a no difference with 10 times cheaper Atlas equator 2.0
The only reason one wouldn't hear a difference is existence of an already capable cable or lack of high enough quality components
Hi Tharbamar,
Big fan here. I really like your work. I made several pairs of speaker cables with CANARE 4S11, after watching your video last year. I really like them. In your opinion would Mogami W3082 be a step up from C4S11?
Hi Aleks, W3082 will brings out a bit more clarity and micro details, thank you
I wonder if you could do two pairs of these to increase the gauge for higher current situations. Obviously leave the out pieces together and inner pieces together
Yes it should work great that way too.
Auvio, with a V not “audio” but “AuVio” branded speaker wire when you can find it is pretty amazing stuff. Great video!!
Hi. If use rhodium coated Banana plug will it sound good? Or gold coated?
Hi, wanted to know your opinion on attaching ferrite rings on speaker cables.
Hi, it should help to reduce interference if that is you’re experiencing but you have to attach it at one side only either - or + side by the speaker.
@@Tharbamar Thanks!
Hi Tharbamar, are the AudioQuest banana plugs you used made of pure copper or brass? Do brass banana plugs affect sound?
Hi, AQ plugs are made of beryllium copper alloy, yes brass can make quite different in my system.
@@Tharbamarcan you please share your observed sound difference/s between canare 4s11 vs mogami?
Cheers.
Very interesting comments... How does the W3082 compare to the Belden 9497?
More open and better bass quality in my system.
I very like my sound of my system with Mogami W3104 cables especially the bass is perfect. How is the bass of your system with the W3082 compared to the W3104?
Thanks!
I'll give it a try. I ordered the w3082 cable.
I've finished the cable. First impression: I agree with you it's very good cable. Thanks for the recommendation.
prefer mogami 3104 or w3082?
W3082 for me, thanks
Sound is subjective but must try back to back to hear which one you like better.
Hi Tharmabar, do you recommend doing the speakers jumpers with the same w3082 wire? do you have any video on how to make speaker jumpers? thank you
Yes W3082 is what I use, I do not have how to video for it thou, thanks
Another great video thanx!! Are these 2x2mm cables good for a 4 ohm(Dynaudio x32) speaker? Thanx 🙏🏻
Yes definitely.
@@Tharbamar thanx for your reply. Do you know the X32 speaker and if so what do you think of them?..
Hi, It should be the same sound quality.
Coaxial speaker cable? What’s the ohm rating
Which one you choose? I have focal aria 906 too
I’m using Canare 4s11 with my 906’s and they sound amazing! I was using Amazon 12 gauge stuff before.. I will be trying the Mogami 3082 for fun but very happy with my Canare wires. It’s more for fun at this point. In my area both Canare and mogami are a few dollars per foot so why not try both!
Thank you !
What jacks do you use??
Thanks for this info comparing to other Mogami w3104.
Would the w3104 provide a more extended treble, larger sweeter upper soundstage (Synergy with a warmish tilted high current class a amp)
Pls let me know your thoughts!
Thanks.
Sorry I do not understand the question.
If you are a live performer , tone characteristics take a backseat to RELIABLY !
Hi, thanks for the video. Searhing for this Mogami cable, I came across Mogami 2804 - almost 10 times more expensive, claiming to use PCOCC coper! Do you have any experience with this cable? Is it worth of price?
Yes, it is very good cable but don’t let the price fool you, W3082 is better cable in performance.
Hello Tharbarmar, can you recommend decent XLR cables for the price? You mentioned that XLR sounds better than RCAs and I am in search of good XLR cables. Thank you!
Try Mogami W2549 or Canare L-E6S based XLR cables are great buy for the price and quality.
@@Tharbamar just purchased Mogami @2539 to connect the DAC and I'm loving it. Thank you Tharbamar!
Out of curiosity, which power cable do you use on your electronics? What are your favourites?
Thank you
PS Audio, Oyaide, iFi.
My favorite is my own shielded design, I have tutorials videos for that.
Thanks for the tutoriel. I bought the same Mogami cable and will try to make own.
What is the reason using the teflon tape over electrical tape ?
Just to have more insulation.
I think I asked you this question before. Do you make the cables for sale? If yes, how can I purchase them?
I do not sell them, thanks
After watching one of your videos about 2 years ago, I made a set of cables using Canare 4s11, and have been pretty happy with them. I'm about to change listening rooms, and now will need longer cables. Would you recommend using Mogami W3082 rather than Canare 4s11? Thanks for posting all of your videos; they've been really helpful as I've begun getting back into hifi audio after about a 20 year hiatus.
Hi, thanks for sharing, W3082 is great If you like more resolution and noise control but 4S11 is great choice because I use both of them.
The Canare digital cable has been recommended by Stereophile as the value leader, for many years and I use one myself.
Did you also try to make jumpers using 3082 with shield as negative conductor? Using just the core conductor negates the effect of draining noise but maybe it doesn’t matter with such a short cable.
Thanks
Yes I’m using 3082 as shielded jumper wires for my speakers, it’s great improvement over any other type of cable including OCC cables.
Hi Tharbamar what do you think if I use these w3082 as a double barrel shoutgun speaker cable, will it sound better?
I have not tried it yet to give you the right information.
You make nice cables! but 14awg seems very small for my Magnat 1109 speakers (4Ohm). I want to make cables for bi-amping connection. Can you recommend cables with your experience?
14awg would be fine for 40hm, especially bi-wire. I assume you don't have your speakers 20meter apart.
Best plugs are NO plugs, bare wire for connection is the best, thank you for the video.
A little silver solder to hold it together and you’re set. I ditched my banana plugs a while back and don’t miss them.
Yea this is not true
Bare copper will corrode; it has to be coated with gold or rhodium or completely sealed from oxygen.
@@mikeeygauthier2959 It won t corrode a lot in your house, where it is kept nicely warm and dry.... But a soldered connection would be best anyway
@@thepuma2012 Just wipe any of ur plugs/connectors with a paper towel or cloth and u will see black, which corrosion!

I’m currently using very same W3082 cable, thanks
Quick question on the joint protection, I see them on eBay thx. Does the blue casing screw away from the chrome part or do you break it off some how?
You can twist it to remove the chrome part.
