I LOVE how the Freelancer looks on the outside. But the inside is exceptionally bad shape. First off, the ship only needs two seats and two beds as, like Cutty and Spirit, it's a two person ship. Second, create a small airlock between the cockpit and hab to place both the side entrance and docking collar. Then a revamped hab with two beds, a small kitchen, and a shoilet with a proper door. And then finally a single long cargo section that's not split into two. Afterwards, adjust its speed and maneuverability so it's just shy of the Cutlass, and boom, good ship once more.
Couldn't agree more. I am happy with the outside, but boy do we need a interior renovation. It's awful in there. I really hope the gold pass allows the team to bring it up to the same standard as other ships. The Freelancer deserves love too XD
the supplementary seats where at the beginning supposed to be for passenger, like it's not a spaceliner, but you could make some bucks by taking some randoms for a ride. don't think it's really useful now, SC has basicaly inflated into something waaaay bigger than it was supposed to at the origin, so make it only two, seat, pilot and copilot/turret operator would be anough, or maybe just a third for an onboard engineer, but that's honestly optionnal also the back turret should be a remote one, because the system to lower the seat kinda obstruct the cargo bay which is already difficult to navigate in when it's loaded at full capacity
Actually like the fact that it has four seats, makes it alot more fun for any group larger than two ppl, other than that yeah the interior needs a bit if a rework. OH and when do we get the rotating wings and Guns on our freelancers from the ship commercial CIG?
What I love about the Freelancer, even though it's hated by so many, is the cockpit. I just love the van-feeling like cockpit with your four friends sitting close next to each other while having a huge desk before your pilot and co-pilot seat. Personally I don't mind the lack of visibility at all. If I would fire those missiles against a target, it would probably be some like a Spirit or a cutlass, because those to a hard contenders for the Freelancer
Freelancer is by far my favourite ship and my main pledge is a MAX, recently tried the MISsle Boat and feels good slamming all those missiles into nasty Redeemers.
When I started playing the base FL was given to everyone as a free loaner. That ship sold me on SC far more than the Aurora and will always have a special place in my heart.

The Max is still one of my favorite ships for most things I do in game. Cargo, delivery missions, bunkers, especially since it can carry an Ursa. The current update letting us respawn in the Nursa gives it a pretty big buff as well.

I like the idea of missiles chasing down ships that are in travel mode while you're stuck in SCM mode. It seems like it will give these types of missile boats a real niche in the game. As far as what ship would be the coolest to see this with, I think it would be something bigger, like a Caterpillar or C2 trying to escape. Something about the visuals of a cluster of missiles chasing down and hitting these bigger ships would look cool!
I flew a MIS for a while as a loaner. I liked it a lot better than I thought I would. It's long profile made it surprisingly easy to land places and exceeded my expectations in PVE. The cargo area was useful for transporting a STV or loading up drugs...er unclaimed cargo :) I'd like to see a missile barrage against the F8C personally.
Love the MIS - it's my main, so pick someone else to get lucky on the giveaway. Just love flying this thing. It's so versatile. Pro Tip - convert your wing racks to 431's and that let's you run 32 Task Force dogfight missiles. Save the Thunderbolts for long range shots. Dump the TaskForces in 4 shot volleys when something gets close. They are fast, agile, and have high hit probabilities even against fighters. That's 8 volleys of 4 and you still have Thunderbolts left over. When the Freelancers get an upgrade pass they should become more durable, get some armor, hopefully the turret will get revised so it can fire forward, and hopefully the internal launch rack will get upgraded to fast volley capability (like the FireBird).
I own the freelancer max. The lancer base was my first stand alone ship back when I pledged in 2016. Upgraded to the max when it came out. I flipping love it. Great cargo. I replaced the guns with CF-337 Panther repeaters. Great fire rate and recharge. The max as of 3.23 has 3 shield generators. I use the fr-76's. The manned current needs to be updated to a remote turret though
Shockingly good editing for a small channel, I foresee your sub number blowing up soon! Personally, I would love to see the missiles tested on a Corsair, would be great to know just how much punishment my daily driver can take
I love how you referenced Firefly to this ship. I also thought the same. Especially in the cinematic when they made the boosters move around 360 in supposedly VTOL mode. There should be a gold pass on all Freelancers and fix the cockpit view. That view is what actually made me move away from it. I would love to also see a full barrage of missiles from the Freelancer MIS on the soon to be released Polaris. Or against a bunch of medium fighters!!
I always advise people looking for their second ship in game, which invariably is their first in game major purchase following their pledge entry into the game, to be either the Drake Cutlass Black, or one of the Freelancers. The comparisons are drawn because of their incredibly similar in game purchase price, and the expansion from basics to light trading, co-op combat and vehicle transport, specifically a Roc! The MIS's stack of missiles needs to be hurled at something you can definitely blow up to really enjoy it as appose to just annoy. So I'd have to choose a low HULL HP but large ship which means the Valkyrie is probably the most fun target! Click click boom.
I also pledged first with a Freelancer game pack and immediately upgraded to the DUR. Still have it, and it's brother the MIS in my expanded fleet over the past 9 or so years. At least it's getting the components and power system updated.
I have ignored the freelancer MIS for years, and then I tried it yesterday as a rental and was blown away by how fun it is in MasterModes. I'd love to test the missile barrage on a pack of Mirai pulses running away planetside. Start with one for every missile and see how many survive!
The Freelancers are some of my favorite ships in game. The MIS and Max are great at their roles, and the base is such a good all around starter. They've always been baby Connies to me. Old, iconic, big teeth, and based around hauling. Classic ship!
I do like the Freelancers but as you said they are very tired and in need of a good overhaul. The Mis at one time made apart of my ingame fleet along with the Reliant Tana and Connie Andromeda (the full missile boat path) and it was always fun. I did love using the Missile barrage against most PvE enemies, maybe it should make up part of my modern ingame fleet again.
Yeah it no doubt could do with a nice update as I say. I love that line up you mentioned though! I feel like it's a solid all round fleet :) We need to see the Freelances come back with a vengeance haha
The Freelancer was for me the first impression of a Millennium Falcon. After the Star Runner was announced, the Freelancer reminded me more of the Falcon5 from Space Balls. 😅 This is why i love this ship.
The Freelancer was my OG pledge. I've since upgraded it to the MAX, but I may go back and get another of the base model at some point. I just hope they give it some love...someday. As to the contest...I'd love to see a MIS missile barrage peppering through the cutlass black. Damn dirty pirates.
The Freelancer MIS was my first upgrade in SC many years ago. But as time moved on, CIG gave us ships with more cargo and more firepower. The Freelancer definitely deserves a rework, cause I still think it's a unique looking shop. For the missile barrage. You should test it against a Valkyrie.
Freelancer was my first pledge back in May of '14. First she became a Max, then a MIS, and i still love her. Id love to see a true forward facing turret. Maybe with S3s. Fighting a constellation
The Freelancer has respectable turreted quad S3s. The MIS version is also very deadly as I mostly discovered by fighting them for bounties. I want to try a full volley of missiles at a Valkyrie. I still remember when two jumped me during a routine delivery mission in my tiny Tana. I'm sure a bigger Misc missile boat would fare much better.
Freelancer is like that classic truck nobody likes anymore because everyone prefers the new launch, but remains the best one, and just imagine its missile against the Hull-C
With every shiny new toy that arrives in the 'verse, I somehow always find myself returning to my beloved Freemax for most of my adventures. I fell in love with the Freelancer line as soon as I saw the famous "Space Trucker" commercial so many years ago and have been a fan ever since! In the MIS, I would test against my own FreeMax.because, well, why not? It's a MISC ship so should be just fine! :P
I like that the freelancer cockpit looks like a mix of a 1990-2000's and civil airliner give me nostalgia for some reason maybe because i got inside both when i was kid Maybe try a hammerhead ERT with missiles and the new mastermode system
personally, I've always loved the look of the freelancer. Its always felt more like a worksmans ship as opposed to say the spirit series. Plus having a ton of missiles to unload into a bounty is a definite plus
I love the MIS. I've got far too many ships now but I still find myself using the MIS more than any others. It can hold its own in PvE (or, it could pre 3.23), and it is small enough to be a brilliant bunker-runner. Would love to fire volleys of missiles from it at those pesky Cutlass Blacks that keep popping up at POI's.
I want my ships to feel like home. You know, cozy beds, a dining area and citchenette, in general less of a tunnel like internal. And I think with a little bit of love, the freelancer platform could really do this. Maybe not the military variant but then at least you still have these missile racks against pesky and quick fighters.
I own only one single seat ship and like to do missions with my friend on board. It would be so much fun just blasting the smaller more agile ships with missiles like hornets or reliants while doing space missions together. Since they aren't that easy to do with my avenger titan anymore because of the AI buffs and combat/flight overhaul it would be really nice to finally own a combat oriented ship.
I've owned a Freelancer since the first came out and fought against just about every ship in the game in all the variants of it. All are solid ships, even with their present issues. Before changes were brought to it, the MIS was one of the best ships to go into combat with or as a daily driver as they were cheap to run and fairly tough, as were the rest of the model range to varying degrees. It is my hope they can be again with the latest changes to the flight model. What ship to use a missile barrage against? Well, in the up-and-coming last Overdrive mission, the Idris makes a big fat target! 😁
Freelancer was my first ship in 2019 besides Aurora starter, we got one free for months, then I decided to get one. Loved it. Now, the ship is far from being a bad one, but sadly, it has very little visibility window in front, very low HP for a dual shield ship, is pricey on pledge store and Cutlass Black is cheaper, has tractor beam and better in every aspect (more hitpoints, better view, more agile in atmo, real VTOL), except the size of missiles it carries (S2 vs S3). Unless CIG does something with 3 aspects of Freelancer MIS, it will never be used : 1. Enlarge front view, 2. fix turret coverage, right now it can't shoot in front., 3. Add more hitpoints, for it's size, it needs about 60000 hitpoints. I mean if CIG added double HP on Prowler, quadrupled for 600i out of their magical dev pencil, surely they can make MIS more survivable. Pilot guns need to stay S3, because otherwise it would be overpowered and it's a missileboat mostly, not a smaller Redeemer. Freelancers have VTOL but not animated. I used to do circles around some people :D VTOL were very strong until 3.23. Well they are still good but right now speed kinda dictates player engagements.
The freelancer could be a very good daily driver but I don't think I'll get one before it has a big rework. I would love to see the missiles to be used against an arrow though. I think it could be fun to see how many missiles a friend can evade before being destroyed.
The MIS variant was my favorite green phallic daily, it just does what I needed it to do whether running bunkers or VHRTs. I'd love to missile barrage those pesky Cutlasses to settle the true mid size king, which is the mean green phallic machine.
Avenger Titan. It was my first ship back in 2014. It was always quite useful and my daily driver for a long time. But now it rips and out manevurs lots of ships.
Back in the day when I pledged just before 2.0 it was between a Freelancer and the Cutlass Black. I got myself the Cuttie but always had a softspot for the Freelancer just because its trailer commercial and that it is one of the OG Star Citizen ships. And let's be real here...who does not want to release all the MIS' missiles onto one of those pesky Caterpillars? I'd certainly try that ;)
Freelancer reminds me of the Planet Express from Futurama. Which is why we sometimes RP as the crew. AND, much like the crew, we tend to fail at everything we do xD Also Freelancer vs Constellation Taurus? Missile boat vs missile boat?
Freelancer max is one of my favorite ships. I just want them to make the rear turret have better depression and add a bottom one, then make both remote turrets from the copilot seats up front... its so nice of a ship I just needs some love.

For the longest time the Freelancer and Cutless were the only ships in their size bracket and were always compared against each other. The Freelancer was always my favourite of the two, so I'd like to see the missile barrage tested against a Cutless.

I don't have a particular ship I'd want to test a missile barrage on, but rather I just want to play around with missiles more in Master Modes. Since the slower, closer combat means getting in the right spot to fire missiles off is a bit of a challenge.
Freelancer was also my first Pledge in 2015. I remember that i wanted something else at that time. But on my way upgrading there, i got the Freelancer. When she was sitting in my Hangar i fell in love and kept her. She changed alot since then but she is still my number one.
The MIS is genuinely one of, if not my absolute favorite ships in the game. I've owned it a couple times, but I always end up eventually moving on from it because the ship's age -- specifically its lack of desperately-needed updates -- means that it just doesn't give the overall versatility of other ships. It's still held back by 2014 standards despite it being 2024. The entire line could stand to have a significant interior rework, and I think once it's brought up to today's standards, we'll start seeing a bunch more space peckers out in the verse. Especially ones blowing up C1s (and eventually Zeuses once they're in game) to show the wannabes how it's done!
Want to see the MISC missiles against Mirai Furies! Need that cinematic, 'Star Wars' style fight dang it! I always felt like the Freelancer, and many other ships, suffer from Star Citizen's 'MTX Meta'. You can buy your way past it easy and, in some cases cheaper, and never need to bother again. But in the when the game finally has all the working parts, the game goes public, and players now have to purchase ships in game using what they earn doing career jobs in the 'Verse, a LOT of these niche' or forgotten ships will start to see use. I believe they'll start spreading out what systems offer what ships and packages. Careers will be less or more likely to be successful in different systems than others and the general gameplay loops are going to inform a lot of players on what ships will serve their current situation. Insurance is going to be much different and varied; even within similar 'classes'. Those factors are what I think will get people using things like the Freelancer and the like. You won't buy it because it's the best. You'll buy it because you've only got a fist full of credits, a dream, and that Aurora isn't holding up anymore, lol.
I'd love to unload a stream of white missile smoke from that giant MIS onto the Corsair. Two heavyweights but one looks like a massive... "Dong! Dong Ba Vietnamese Restaurant is one of my favorites!"

Oh, Freelancer was always my love. It handles very smoothly and looks like a predator reptile :) I used to hunt with it a lot of ships, preferably Cutlasses :D
I’d love to see how a Freelancer MIS fares in a 1v1 against the new Firebird. The Firebird has a short burst of a dozen missiles, but not a whole lot of firepower afterwords. Meanwhile the MIS has more than double the missile capacity, at a slower fire rate, but also has double the firepower after it has exhausted its large complement of missiles.
One of the ships I'd like to barrage on the Freelancer Mis is the Drake Caterpillar. I like the idea of selecting specific sections of the ship the missiles would strike similar to new gimbaled gun system. This would not only provide a tactical advantage against my opponent, but it'd also make for a lovely fireworks show. ^^
To me the Freelancer is meant to be the Middle of the road, the hard normal in armor, agility and ability balance. "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one." Had a DUR for a long time but CCU'd it to a Zues ES. Never had a look at the MIS though, but it does look nice.

IIRC A few years ago I had fun in a Freelancer MIS until I needed to turn the ship in its first fight. It felt more like a missile support ship than a dogfighter. On top of that, whatever I wanted to use the MIS for the Taurus was better at it.
One ship that the Freelancer's missile barrage should do some damage to is the Hammer Head, then just finish it off with a few shots from the Ballistic Canons
in the most recent patch I need more missiles to dump on smaller fighters like the Gladius. Master modes have made missiles more important for medium ships than ever
My Max is my favorite ship! Today I added the Ursa Nursa in the back for bunker/mission running. (Nursa Max) Cargo hauls get decent profit. Buddy of mine and I go out with the vulture and fill it up for salvage gameplay, hauls my ore, it’s pretty Fast, not so nimble, but you’re right, needs a little bit more love. Hasn’t prevented me from melting it though. Would nice to add the mis to the mix. The cutlass blue for the missile barrage🙌🏼

When i first started out in SC i was rather sceptical about the freelancer. Now however, i enjoy it quite a lot and i love the cockpit. Missiles would surely do good work in helping against pirate Constellations :D
Freelancer max was the first ship I pledged for although it is no longer in my hanger. The Cutty black is the Freelancer's biggest rival so unleashing some missiles on that would create some schadenfreude
Man I miss my Freelancer. Loved the old version with the entrance from below. Exchanged it for a MSR because it gives you more options but sometimes I just want to go back to the old lady.
I'd love to test those missiles against the Spirit, or new Zeus on release. I feel like too many people think they'll have replaced the Freelancer, but this old dog will always have a place for me.

I'm so glad I found this video today. I'm here with a temperature after my house has been flooded 2 nights ago. My initial pledge was a freelancer back in 2017 and I was planning to upgrade it to the MIS version this invictus because I really thought the devs didnt gave her the justice she needed but I guess main priority now is finding another car. I'd love to try that missile barrage basically on everything.
Testing missiles on a Redeemer would be great. Redeemer has been on a high horse for so long and the only thing I can really take it out with would be missiles so this is a great addition !
I definitely want to test those missiles against an Idris! The side cannons also look as a great lot of fun! And i can surely use the Freelancer to transport my refined minerals and metals to the TDD. Great allround ship.

Would be dope to use it as an artillery support in a fight. Like swoop in after a fight breaks out and just lob misses from afar. Be cool to see it unload into the top of a hammerhead.
I would love to test the missile barrage against a hammerhead. The freelancer DUR was my first pledge. I have since changed it and expanded my hangar, but I have a soft spot in my heart for the freelancer ships as well.
You are right, not enough talk about freelancers due to the huge amount of ship released these years, but meta is changing everytime so, who knows? I hate the corsair so, why not blow it up in a salvo? :D

MAX forever, but MIS is not only tougher, she's also got a 10% maneuvering speed boost! Did you guys notice they've just added a second power generator and a third shield? Across the board! I'm looking forward to taking a MIS out on the Xenothreat missions an softening up the baddies (if not taking them out BEFORE the gunners can!)
I like the Freelancer because of the overall package, good weapons, plenty of space to fly with friends, a hold for cargo or vehicles and it is relatively compact compared to a C2 / I would like to see it fire on an Eclipse

The comparisons are drawn because of their incredibly similar in game purchase price, and the expansion from basics to light trading, co-op combat and vehicle transport, specifically a Roc!
The MIS's stack of missiles needs to be hurled at something you can definitely blow up to really enjoy it as appose to just annoy. So I'd have to choose a low HULL HP but large ship which means the Valkyrie is probably the most fun target! Click click boom.
was also my first "bigger" ship back in the day. missiles need some love but I still love to see it peppering bounty targets
I also pledged first with a Freelancer game pack and immediately upgraded to the DUR. Still have it, and it's brother the MIS in my expanded fleet over the past 9 or so years.
At least it's getting the components and power system updated.
I have ignored the freelancer MIS for years, and then I tried it yesterday as a rental and was blown away by how fun it is in MasterModes. I'd love to test the missile barrage on a pack of Mirai pulses running away planetside. Start with one for every missile and see how many survive!
The Freelancers are some of my favorite ships in game. The MIS and Max are great at their roles, and the base is such a good all around starter. They've always been baby Connies to me. Old, iconic, big teeth, and based around hauling. Classic ship!
Oh man, I would love to put the Freelancer up against the new upcoming Blockade Runner missions. Bet it could hold its own!
I do like the Freelancers but as you said they are very tired and in need of a good overhaul. The Mis at one time made apart of my ingame fleet along with the Reliant Tana and Connie Andromeda (the full missile boat path) and it was always fun. I did love using the Missile barrage against most PvE enemies, maybe it should make up part of my modern ingame fleet again.
Yeah it no doubt could do with a nice update as I say. I love that line up you mentioned though! I feel like it's a solid all round fleet :) We need to see the Freelances come back with a vengeance haha
I CCUed my SRV to a freelancer MIS, as a missile boat guy this thing always settled right with me, certainly underlooked
The Freelancer was for me the first impression of a Millennium Falcon. After the Star Runner was announced, the Freelancer reminded me more of the Falcon5 from Space Balls. 😅 This is why i love this ship.
The Freelancer was my OG pledge. I've since upgraded it to the MAX, but I may go back and get another of the base model at some point. I just hope they give it some love...someday.
As to the contest...I'd love to see a MIS missile barrage peppering through the cutlass black. Damn dirty pirates.
The Freelancer MIS was my first upgrade in SC many years ago. But as time moved on, CIG gave us ships with more cargo and more firepower. The Freelancer definitely deserves a rework, cause I still think it's a unique looking shop.
For the missile barrage. You should test it against a Valkyrie.
Freelancer was my first pledge back in May of '14. First she became a Max, then a MIS, and i still love her.
Id love to see a true forward facing turret. Maybe with S3s. Fighting a constellation

The Freelancer has respectable turreted quad S3s. The MIS version is also very deadly as I mostly discovered by fighting them for bounties. I want to try a full volley of missiles at a Valkyrie. I still remember when two jumped me during a routine delivery mission in my tiny Tana. I'm sure a bigger Misc missile boat would fare much better.
Freelancer is like that classic truck nobody likes anymore because everyone prefers the new launch, but remains the best one, and just imagine its missile against the Hull-C

Spirit, Cutless, Constellation are now all far more Agile then Freelancer.
With every shiny new toy that arrives in the 'verse, I somehow always find myself returning to my beloved Freemax for most of my adventures. I fell in love with the Freelancer line as soon as I saw the famous "Space Trucker" commercial so many years ago and have been a fan ever since! In the MIS, I would test against my own FreeMax.because, well, why not? It's a MISC ship so should be just fine! :P
I like that the freelancer cockpit looks like a mix of a 1990-2000's and civil airliner give me nostalgia for some reason maybe because i got inside both when i was kid

personally, I've always loved the look of the freelancer. Its always felt more like a worksmans ship as opposed to say the spirit series. Plus having a ton of missiles to unload into a bounty is a definite plus
I love the MIS. I've got far too many ships now but I still find myself using the MIS more than any others. It can hold its own in PvE (or, it could pre 3.23), and it is small enough to be a brilliant bunker-runner. Would love to fire volleys of missiles from it at those pesky Cutlass Blacks that keep popping up at POI's.
I want my ships to feel like home. You know, cozy beds, a dining area and citchenette, in general less of a tunnel like internal. And I think with a little bit of love, the freelancer platform could really do this. Maybe not the military variant but then at least you still have these missile racks against pesky and quick fighters.
I own only one single seat ship and like to do missions with my friend on board. It would be so much fun just blasting the smaller more agile ships with missiles like hornets or reliants while doing space missions together. Since they aren't that easy to do with my avenger titan anymore because of the AI buffs and combat/flight overhaul it would be really nice to finally own a combat oriented ship.
I've owned a Freelancer since the first came out and fought against just about every ship in the game in all the variants of it. All are solid ships, even with their present issues. Before changes were brought to it, the MIS was one of the best ships to go into combat with or as a daily driver as they were cheap to run and fairly tough, as were the rest of the model range to varying degrees. It is my hope they can be again with the latest changes to the flight model. What ship to use a missile barrage against? Well, in the up-and-coming last Overdrive mission, the Idris makes a big fat target! 😁
Freelancer was my first ship in 2019 besides Aurora starter, we got one free for months, then I decided to get one. Loved it.
Now, the ship is far from being a bad one, but sadly, it has very little visibility window in front, very low HP for a dual shield ship, is pricey on pledge store and Cutlass Black is cheaper, has tractor beam and better in every aspect (more hitpoints, better view, more agile in atmo, real VTOL), except the size of missiles it carries (S2 vs S3).
Unless CIG does something with 3 aspects of Freelancer MIS, it will never be used : 1. Enlarge front view, 2. fix turret coverage, right now it can't shoot in front., 3. Add more hitpoints, for it's size, it needs about 60000 hitpoints. I mean if CIG added double HP on Prowler, quadrupled for 600i out of their magical dev pencil, surely they can make MIS more survivable.
Pilot guns need to stay S3, because otherwise it would be overpowered and it's a missileboat mostly, not a smaller Redeemer.
Freelancers have VTOL but not animated. I used to do circles around some people :D VTOL were very strong until 3.23. Well they are still good but right now speed kinda dictates player engagements.
The freelancer could be a very good daily driver but I don't think I'll get one before it has a big rework.
I would love to see the missiles to be used against an arrow though. I think it could be fun to see how many missiles a friend can evade before being destroyed.

Misc Freelancer was the ship that got me through Pirate swarm back in the day. I would love to see this against the new Firebird. Its a beast.
The MIS variant was my favorite green phallic daily, it just does what I needed it to do whether running bunkers or VHRTs. I'd love to missile barrage those pesky Cutlasses to settle the true mid size king, which is the mean green phallic machine.
Freelancer is really a breath of fresh air in the world of wedges in space, all of the missiles go to the Drake Cutlass x)

Avenger Titan. It was my first ship back in 2014. It was always quite useful and my daily driver for a long time. But now it rips and out manevurs lots of ships.
I actually pledged for the Spirit A1 and got this as the loaner ship, and tbh this MIS stuck on me more than the A1 did on its release
Back in the day when I pledged just before 2.0 it was between a Freelancer and the Cutlass Black.
I got myself the Cuttie but always had a softspot for the Freelancer just because its trailer commercial and that it is one of the OG Star Citizen ships.
And let's be real here...who does not want to release all the MIS' missiles onto one of those pesky Caterpillars? I'd certainly try that ;)
Freelancer reminds me of the Planet Express from Futurama. Which is why we sometimes RP as the crew. AND, much like the crew, we tend to fail at everything we do xD

Freelancer max is one of my favorite ships. I just want them to make the rear turret have better depression and add a bottom one, then make both remote turrets from the copilot seats up front... its so nice of a ship I just needs some love.
The freelancer was also my Pledge, have subsequently upgraded it to the Vulture, may go back to it after the gold pass.
Nice video. I agree that theMmis and freelancer series need some love. It would be great when the guns swivel to the sides to take shots. I'd love to use the missile barrage againt a connie to see if it can blow it up.

For the longest time the Freelancer and Cutless were the only ships in their size bracket and were always compared against each other. The Freelancer was always my favourite of the two, so I'd like to see the missile barrage tested against a Cutless.
I would love to see a missile barrage against a Retaliator, one off the most durable ships in SC today, and see if she would stand a chance against the size 3 missiles of the freelancer MIS.😊 Beautifull ship bdw. Love the usability and design of MISC🥰.

I don't have a particular ship I'd want to test a missile barrage on, but rather I just want to play around with missiles more in Master Modes. Since the slower, closer combat means getting in the right spot to fire missiles off is a bit of a challenge.

When she was sitting in my Hangar i fell in love and kept her. She changed alot since then but she is still my number one.

The MIS is genuinely one of, if not my absolute favorite ships in the game. I've owned it a couple times, but I always end up eventually moving on from it because the ship's age -- specifically its lack of desperately-needed updates -- means that it just doesn't give the overall versatility of other ships. It's still held back by 2014 standards despite it being 2024. The entire line could stand to have a significant interior rework, and I think once it's brought up to today's standards, we'll start seeing a bunch more space peckers out in the verse. Especially ones blowing up C1s (and eventually Zeuses once they're in game) to show the wannabes how it's done!
Want to see the MISC missiles against Mirai Furies! Need that cinematic, 'Star Wars' style fight dang it!
I always felt like the Freelancer, and many other ships, suffer from Star Citizen's 'MTX Meta'. You can buy your way past it easy and, in some cases cheaper, and never need to bother again. But in the when the game finally has all the working parts, the game goes public, and players now have to purchase ships in game using what they earn doing career jobs in the 'Verse, a LOT of these niche' or forgotten ships will start to see use. I believe they'll start spreading out what systems offer what ships and packages. Careers will be less or more likely to be successful in different systems than others and the general gameplay loops are going to inform a lot of players on what ships will serve their current situation. Insurance is going to be much different and varied; even within similar 'classes'. Those factors are what I think will get people using things like the Freelancer and the like.
You won't buy it because it's the best. You'll buy it because you've only got a fist full of credits, a dream, and that Aurora isn't holding up anymore, lol.

Oh, Freelancer was always my love. It handles very smoothly and looks like a predator reptile :) I used to hunt with it a lot of ships, preferably Cutlasses :D
I do really love the freelancer, it has such a cool cockpit. I like being restricted in my view a bit if it means I have an awesome dashboard.
I’d love to see how a Freelancer MIS fares in a 1v1 against the new Firebird.
The Firebird has a short burst of a dozen missiles, but not a whole lot of firepower afterwords. Meanwhile the MIS has more than double the missile capacity, at a slower fire rate, but also has double the firepower after it has exhausted its large complement of missiles.
One of the ships I'd like to barrage on the Freelancer Mis is the Drake Caterpillar. I like the idea of selecting specific sections of the ship the missiles would strike similar to new gimbaled gun system. This would not only provide a tactical advantage against my opponent, but it'd also make for a lovely fireworks show. ^^
To me the Freelancer is meant to be the Middle of the road, the hard normal in armor, agility and ability balance. "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one."
Had a DUR for a long time but CCU'd it to a Zues ES. Never had a look at the MIS though, but it does look nice.

IIRC A few years ago I had fun in a Freelancer MIS until I needed to turn the ship in its first fight. It felt more like a missile support ship than a dogfighter. On top of that, whatever I wanted to use the MIS for the Taurus was better at it.
One ship that the Freelancer's missile barrage should do some damage to is the Hammer Head, then just finish it off with a few shots from the Ballistic Canons
I like to go volleys of four misses at a time on largerbounty targets. Very satisfying.
I'd test it against the cutlass and see how many missiles it would take before the pirates get a fiery introduction to cold space.
in the most recent patch I need more missiles to dump on smaller fighters like the Gladius. Master modes have made missiles more important for medium ships than ever
My Max is my favorite ship! Today I added the Ursa Nursa in the back for bunker/mission running. (Nursa Max) Cargo hauls get decent profit. Buddy of mine and I go out with the vulture and fill it up for salvage gameplay, hauls my ore, it’s pretty Fast, not so nimble, but you’re right, needs a little bit more love. Hasn’t prevented me from melting it though. Would nice to add the mis to the mix. The cutlass blue for the missile barrage🙌🏼

When i first started out in SC i was rather sceptical about the freelancer. Now however, i enjoy it quite a lot and i love the cockpit. Missiles would surely do good work in helping against pirate Constellations :D
Freelancer max was the first ship I pledged for although it is no longer in my hanger. The Cutty black is the Freelancer's biggest rival so unleashing some missiles on that would create some schadenfreude
Man I miss my Freelancer. Loved the old version with the entrance from below. Exchanged it for a MSR because it gives you more options but sometimes I just want to go back to the old lady.

My initial pledge was a freelancer back in 2017 and I was planning to upgrade it to the MIS version this invictus because I really thought the devs didnt gave her the justice she needed but I guess main priority now is finding another car.

I always loved the explosion of the Valkyrie so it would definitely be the first target for the mighty MIS missiles for me.
Testing missiles on a Redeemer would be great. Redeemer has been on a high horse for so long and the only thing I can really take it out with would be missiles so this is a great addition !
I definitely want to test those missiles against an Idris! The side cannons also look as a great lot of fun! And i can surely use the Freelancer to transport my refined minerals and metals to the TDD. Great allround ship.

I would love to test the missile barrage against a hammerhead. The freelancer DUR was my first pledge. I have since changed it and expanded my hangar, but I have a soft spot in my heart for the freelancer ships as well.
You are right, not enough talk about freelancers due to the huge amount of ship released these years, but meta is changing everytime so, who knows? I hate the corsair so, why not blow it up in a salvo? :D

MAX forever, but MIS is not only tougher, she's also got a 10% maneuvering speed boost! Did you guys notice they've just added a second power generator and a third shield? Across the board!

I like the Freelancer because of the overall package, good weapons, plenty of space to fly with friends, a hold for cargo or vehicles and it is relatively compact compared to a C2 / I would like to see it fire on an Eclipse
