Your strategy worked to get the (accumulator) drier dessicant filter out but the new one wouldn't quite fit so I had to use sandpaper to grind down the round edges so it could slide in. And for my expansion valve, I ended up stripping 1 of the Torx bolts... great video sir
07 ford edge 3.5l, my system is full on a fresh charge and oil. no leaks within the system. fans come on compressor comes on everything acts as it should but no cold air. could the valve and dryer be the cause of this? if so which should i replace or just do them both anyways? thank you. i do not know hardly anything on diagnosing HVAC
It's the Expansion valve. You can get away with just changing the expansion valve? If there's a lot of trash in it. Though your compressor's not gonna last long and it's the o's black. It's called black death. You need to just change the compressor and flush the system. I'm just seeing your comment and commenting on it. This is not my thread. Been doing it twenty six years full time
when I got the snap ring off I screwed a bolt in the thread hole on bottom of round metal part & used pliers to grab the bolt & pull down to work it out .
Thank you. This helps me work on my own vehicle. There are a pretty limited amount of mkz videos out there
You've helped me out so much 🫡

Good point about back flushing the system.

Having a hard time with my receiver drier, wish he showed the replacement. Stuck at the snap ring and push up on the metal part
I had to tap that round metal part up into the housing , " lightly tap it " . I used a socket & small hammer .
@@heartlandmechanic thanks I appreciate the quick response too. I'll try that
One more thing, do I need a removal tool or just a needle nose pliers to pull out the filter part?

Alright, great idea too
