The truss rod hole and tuners give it away immediately. Fender has never used the little set screw on back and almost every USA made guitar has a well placed walnut plug in the truss rod hole.
My many non-fake Chinese guitars are excellent overall...Indonesian even better....Korean, amazing, Japanese, exceptional, Mex very decent, USA, tops. Pups make all the difference.
If you really want to buy or investigate Chinese counterfeit fakes on eBay, this seller is happy to oblige as eBay is still letting him do so: www.ebay.com/str/woshigoudan Seller always hides the headstock in listings but you will find fake serial numbers on headstock rear that will never match the fake guitar in Fender serial number database description.
Really just comes down to price. I just ordered a reliced fake Tele but knowing full well it's not gonna be a real fender, and that's fine with me. I only paid $228 with free shipping. That's half of what you'd pay for a used Mexican fender

Unfortunately, my android phone only records audio in mono. My chosen method via Cubase DAW provided stereo which worked better for providing the sound test.

I paid 800 dollars for a real strat that i could have got for 200 on ebay and it would have been a better guitar . I don’t know why people buy counterfeit guitars when for a couple hundred dollars more you can buy a quality used made in Mexico Fender guitar.
