Can you use a compound turbo setup on a gasoline engine?

Yes you can. Just not done as often.

What type of hp #'s are you seeing with this kit? I'm building a 24V (08) Fummins (2000) and am looking for 600hp with 1000+ ft lbs, daily driver without smoke. Is this a good place to start? I tow a 30' gooseneck trailer with about 20,000 lbs several times a year.

DPS lists compound kits on their website for anywhere from 300 hp up. From that info I’m guessing they would recommend a stage 2 or 3 kit. What kind of transmission you’re running may also play into it. But I’m a year late replying so you probably got this sorted already

Has anyone ever put a compound system on a Chevy 6.5l diesel? Possible or not just curious

Yea it’s possible but why would you waste any kind of money on a 6.5?

@@chrishansen7004 because I love them. I own 2 and they are my workhorses. I know them inside and out and are pretty simple and easy to maintain if you know how they work.

The stock turbos that ended up on the 6.5's are sized with immediate spool in mind (fast to spool, fast to choke) and the exhaust routing is an absolute joke.
Considering IDI's can't take as much boost do to their compression ratio, and that 6.5's like to run hot, I would sort out the exhaust routing first. There's a guy on youtube that built parallel turbos (one per manifold) to solve those issues.
I own a 7.3 PSD and know there are tons of options to swap wheels and housings with. If you got some non-turbo manifolds, and piped to that turbo, you could remote mount it via pedestal, and v band. If you didn't like the way it worked, pop it off and mod it.
