Man , love how you did this vid. Do you have a e30 custom map? I had my gti doing 11.5@122 with same mods e30 on radials. I now have a gli , being debating of doing e30 is38 on my gli. Was this done full weight?
I had the ots eqt e30’ map. All these runs are with the trunk empty and the back seat out. I’ve talked to you on Facebook before. That GTi was a monster. 122 with is20 is insane.
Love this man. I just got my GLI a couple of weeks ago and love it a lot. Once the warranty is up, I’m gonna mod it. Do you prefer EQT or IE? Not looking to squeeze out every last ounce of power. More just staying pretty conservative since it’s my daily
Hey bro any reason you switched from eqt to sneeky? Debating between the two on my FBO stage 2 mk7.5. I’ve had the stage 1 and now stage 2 by IE since I got the car but ready to get an accessport for sure
I switched to Sneeky because the price for the IS38 tune was a lot cheaper then getting a custom eqt tune. Best thing i ever did was switch over to the AP. You’d be happy with either Sneeky or eqt.
What made the most impact getting the power down on the ground? I have a 034 dog bone insert and still spend a good bit. Should i just get the mount as well?
A quality billet dogbone insert from APR, and upgraded front control arms/bushings do wonders. We have a 2017 Mk7 GTI SE for our shop car that we’ve done a ton of R&D on. People sleep on the front LCAs (usually due to ignorance), and that’s one of the two biggest weak links that absolutely kills traction and induces wheel hop. RS3 front LCAs if you’re on a budget ($200-ish USS) and a $80 billet steel insert from APR and your car/traction will be completely transformed. After that it’s onto lighter wheels and stickier rubber. 😎
As an aside, our shop car hooks in 1st-3rd on a 245/40 200TW tire with just a dogbone insert, stock motor mounts, and upgraded suspension. 12.80s at 110-112mph depending on the DA. It’s all about the combo. No more getting railed by RWD cars. 💪 🤗 🏎️
Hey boss I'm is38 now still with Unitronic which is great for daily use but I'm getting an AP with EQT E30 tune for when I wanna go fast. Were you on the stock HPFP?
My MK7 GTI on Unitronic 91 octane tunes went 104 mph stage 1 and 107 mph stage 2 with IC and DP. Maybe just because I'm only on 91 octane? It was like 60° out and 1,500 ft elevation so not that bad conditions.
I got the ARM fmic. I’ve been very happy with it. Install is easier though you have to cut the lower crash bar (it’s not doing much anyways). My IATs are beautiful. Even with the IS38 I’m like 8-10 over ambient on a pull. Highly recommend. For this price it can’t be beat
What beh no stock is 14 flat this the stage 1 was a verry bad run look at his 60 foot 3.0 But his other runs was amazing his stage do dojng 12.8 is suberbe.
Hehe it will pull a bit on a stock m340i. But you’re talking about e30 with a swapped turbo to put a car maybe on an m340i. To what end? As someone who owned many FBO and tuned VW (MK4 GTi, MK7 GTi, B8.5 S4) I still enjoy looking at the VAG stuff but the B58 is a different animal. I know because I own a RWD ‘18 340i MPPSK… and with just a 93 tune (e18 mix) it’s trapping 118mph at 1500DA. And the M340i has a hair more sauce in on them too. When I get my DP and HPFP installed in the spring and mix in e30 the f30 versions are usually trapping about 124-125mph in full weight street setup. Thats before touching the turbo. Just two parts and a tune in street form, vs a car with thousands in upgrades and drag radials with the rear interior stripped out. Don’t get me wrong, this is a cool and impressive GLi. I guess I’m curious why the comparison was made… they’re two different levels of car. My number one piece of advice for people is its way cheaper to upgrade the base you’re working with than try super hard and spend a lot of money making your car into something it’s not. It’s why I change cars every 3-4 years… upgrades past a certain point become about chasing the “next level” and you’re much better off financially and in terms of reliability to just change the car you’re modding for a higher tier. If I said my modded 340i is as fast as a stock f80 m3 that’s correct… but damn am I in trouble if they flash a tune. Same is true here. Yes a fairly moderate amount of mods later it could catch a stock m340i out. But also that m340i spends 15 mins flash tuning and you’re back looking at tail lights. Without the m340i opening the hood even. Is my car as fast as a stock f80? Yes. But is it the same? No… not at all.
I could be wrong but I'm sure tires are different on a lot of these runs. Might want to add that into the edit. Make a video of reviewing all of this stuff!!
I’m a little over 3k miles in with the Shuenk. Over 55 1/4 mile runs 😂😂 So far it’s taken everything I’ve thrown at it like a champ. I hear a lot of people have issues with them but so far so good for me. Fingers crossed it stays that way
Only for stage 1 his stage 2 was perfect you can tell look at his 60 foot for stage 1 3.0 is bad driver but for stage 2 was 2.4nwich is amazing great run 12.8
I don't much about modding vws but I like how you progressed in the vid. Wish I had better vids of my earlier stuff. Nice job on it!
Thanks man!
Grats! Those 0-60 times were so damn impressive!

@@TheTexican05thank you so much for this, I’m legit probably gonna be looking these up cause the main killer is putting the power down
Have any tips on how you launch the car? Did you use launch control or brake boost without LC? Sounds like you shift early to 2nd to avoid wheel spin?
Probably 7 speed dsg they do that

From what I’ve seen the Unitronic times on these mk7s aren’t as stout as say IE, EQT or sneeky.
Did you have to do any mods to do e30? Someone said the stock fueling system can handle it no problem?
It can run e30 on is20 with no fueling mods but i had to get a hpfp to run the e48 on the is38
What FMIC did you go with? I’m unsure whether to go with a stock location one from IE or a FMIC

What tires did you have for that IS38 run?
245/45r17 Mickey Thompson ET street R. Highly recommend
Crazy to get close to 3s to 60mph on the stock turbo for a FWD car
