Thanks for the video. Very helpful. BTW, the torque spec on the connecting rod bolts is 9 ft lbs.

Had a question but found the answer. Didn't know the crank was bent. Good video. I'll use it for mine which needs a complete overhaul.

Great video. Wish the sound had been better. At this point I have nothing to lose in trying this. Cheaper than a new mower! Thanks

I got 8/9 of these engines but have no idea what is wrong with them and no time in summer to find out, will work on them during winter when it’s slow

My grandpa ran his without oil and I got stuck with trying to fix it. Thank you for this video! I was really struggling with getting the head/cylinder to separate.

I’ve been using the Right Stuff silicone and it’s great, the Honda bond is great also

According to the shop manual, those connecting rod bolts and the crank case cover bolts should be torqued to 12Nm (9ft--lbs)

Everyone has to start somewhere. I started learning the trade in a small engine mechanic school back in 1973 and ended up became a commercial small engine mechanic overtime, and ended my career in 2022…

This would be a great time to inspect the camshaft belt for wear or cracks and replace it if its needs to be replaced?

  • @GApawpawandnana

I took the spark plug out and I found a hole completely burnt through the threads of the cylinder. Should I bother going any further?

Great video. It was a bit too quiet. Do you know the best place to buy Honda parts? Thanks!
