Draining the fuel for a few seconds got mine going. Thanks!

Just picked one up the guy down the street was cleaning out his garage before moving and set it out by the street with some other stuff , I asked him he said it ran but he hadn’t used it for a year, took it home put a little bit of mixed in it but it didn’t start so I put in on the list to fix stuff , well it’s been another six months setting , so I figured why not look on UA-cam , here I am , so I’ll go through it and see we’re the problem is 🤔🤷🏽

The reason you had a hard time starting it is because you closed the choke and then primed it. With the choke close when you prime these little to no fuel is going into the carb.

Check for plugged exhaust if it will not rev

We’re can I find the replacement parts for the same generator ? Push Rods, or the whole valve kit ?

Im at the end of my diagnosis. Has good spark, carb has been thoroughly flushed, taken apart and degreased, ignition module is still working per the spark, etc. the piston ring is worn. With the 2018 26cc model, there is no way to take the piston out. Ive had it completely stripped to just the block, and there is a small flat faced torque screw that locks the end of the piston to the crank rod. If you have this model, and have this issue, just save yourself time, and buy another one.

how many hours was on it?

Would this be causing my HRX217hya to not cut all the grass while mowing? Or is that cuased by the belt? I have just started to have this issue with it not staying on in FAST mode as well. But, the blades constantly being missed is driving me up the wall!!!!! Nobody's got answer yet. Funny cuz ive tired mowing slower, nope.had carb replaved last fall, nope. Bern running REC fuel last 2 season too. This year the lawn blade problem just seems to be getting worse n worse!!

You need a new carb , fuel hose and filter plus a new tank valve if you are using gasoline 😢 Sorry but it’s the truth 😊😊😊

Is the voltage regulator typically the problem?

I put a little extra oil in my mix but I was told it wont hurt anything. Maybe fowl a plug. I mix mine in old gallon jugs so its not exact and I just want a margin for safety. I better check my info. Thanks 👍

Any ideas you might be able to offer would be amazing, sorry it’s kinda a longer read than I wanted to post but I wanted to be thorough about the issue and what’s been done so far. my Durostar 12000Eh has some bs going on with it. It won’t start with gas but it will with propane. Long story kinda short. the generator has good gas, the fuel line on, choke and oil are good the manufacturer specs, hasn’t set up and only 3 months old with 20 hours or so. After the break in period. So I thought maybe cloth in the carb or bad gas. So I drained fuel from both the fuel valve like the manufacturer wants and I also drained some from the bolt on the bottom of the carb, not at the same time. Both flowed evenly and steady. Tested the gas is was in great shape good color, smell, also got it from a shop that offers no ethanol in their gas. Then I figured maybe something dirty in the carb. After using carb cleaner and waiting 13-15 minutes. I try to start it, it turns over but no start. I give it 5 or some minutes. Then squirt a little gas into the carb. It starts right up but dies out pretty quick. Then I connect the propane hose to and a it starts right up. After I make the adjustments needed from the manufacturer. So I remove the spark plug and it had plenty of spark, coils are good , and customer service or tech support can’t tell me a damn thing about it. I haven’t test the solenoid with a volt but I am about to and yes I know these units can gum up quick with trash. However, Being the units, only three months old and regular oil changes high octane, gas with no ethanol, Low hours, I can’t seem to find any solution to this problem. Other than someone saying “yes it’s got trash in”, “bad gas”, or “take it to a mechanic”. I’m all about teach a man to fish vs give a man a fish. Plus I’m far more invested in it now to turn it over to someone else that’s is just going to swap parts out till it starts. I like swapping parts isn’t fixing parts.

Did all of that and nothing. The i realized screw for fuel control knob was loose. Runs great now. Wtf

and now gouging the crap out of the aluminum case with a razor knife to clean off gasket. good thing you use a premium sealant!

please torque things to spec that is way too tight and will cause parts to wear out prematurely

They are two different sizes you can’t mess them up because the exhaust has the decompression on it you dork

brutal it’s a key way with a woodruff key not a shear pin and it’s a flywheel nut not a bolt and snug up the bolts and nuts on your puller and it wouldn’t flop around like that and go so much easier. i’m not sure if i can watch the entire down you need some learning before you teach your hacks!

Where did you get the part? Craftsman has zero parts or schematics to offer anyone, and there are NO service repair options. I had to fix mine myself after they sent me an email telling me to recycle my mower and buy a new one. WORST customer service ever!!!

Mine does this…no burnt wires. But my mother accidently unplugged the 24/7 battery charger, somthe battery was completely dead. I pull started it, and itmwould run for three seconds and quit….not having power to keep the fuel valve open could be the culprit. I charged the battery overnight and itmruns fine now.

Great video. I need help. Pull start cord rips out of my hand when i attempt to pull / start it. I think its not releasing pressure and the timing is always off everytime i align it and start. Fires up but stops 10 seconds afterwards Does anyone know why and the fix? Its been a year and I'm still at a dead end. Ryobi GCV 190 3100psi 2.5 GPM

I absolutely hate this power washer. Getting it to run without it stopping is a real pain. I saw you held the washer trigger in while starting it. I'll do that too the next time I use it. Getting it started was always a real issue with pressure building up and it dying and you wouldn't be able to pull the starter cord until you pulled the trigger to release pressure. Then when you finally get it started it dies as soon as you want to start using it. I HATE THIS THING!

I don't understand because the fuses you did before was 0 so what is the difference in the fuza ultinator or what ever you think it is. Makes no sense. Explain yourself better

I tried everything, but what worked for me was simply squeezing the rubber fuel line a couple of times and then it started right up

Glad to share a similar experience with my friends 14.5 MTD garden tractor. His was having a very hard time cranking to the point even with a fresh battery it wouldn't turn over. We thought it was that combustion chamber relief gizmo. Pulled the plug out and like yours, gas flowed out and it was the wtf moment? Thought all the gas was out...put the plug back in and started it..MISTAKE ! Like yours as well gas was in the muffler.....it exploded and we went slightly deaf for 10-15 minutes ! Watched your video on rebuilding the carb and everything went smoothly after that..oh ya...changed the oil too ! Thanks for the video btw !

nice video, this was exactly my problem. the fuel was old, orange, and smelled bad just as you described. once i took apart the carb and cleaned it, it started on the first pull.

I replace the carburetor and still sounds like your engine after you clean the carburetor do you know what is causing that problem?
