I was so confused with the beginning where you said you were fed up after the lecture and saw loads of people walking?? But just wanted to say - with note taking, if it makes you feel better, do it. You're paying the fees and you know best how you learn. I think some lecturers have such an ego, they want all eyes on them, and there's no study that says not taking notes is conclusively better than taking notes, we all have different brains, we all learn in different ways. Another option is using a digital recorder that allows you to upload straight on to your computer, or record the lecture on your phone and go back over it to make notes later. But if you want to save time, go ahead and make those notes in the lecture! Also - I think it's SO nice you're becoming a mentor just because you had a good experience of being mentored. Such a great way to give someone else the positive experience you had. x
Oh haha I just meant in the sense that uni was so packed and full of people 😭 and yeahh that’s very true! I’m gonna try the way my lecturer suggested for a bit to see what works best for me! And aw thank you 💕

Hey Selina, I'm starting at Durham to do Philosophy soon, what folders would you recommend? I don't know whether to get 1 inch binders for each of my 6 modules or get lever arch files

Hi, would really appreciate a reply, just wondering what the parking situation is like at Exeter uni (Streatham campus), is there like a parking permit for the year you can buy, if so how much? Do people usually park in the uni car parks or are there better cheaper places? Is it worth bringing my car at all to Exeter uni or leaving it at home/ selling it(in your opinion) thanks very much :)
Hi, not whom you asked but also studying at exeter^^ parking spaces on campus are super, super limited, i don't believe there is any space around halls really and it's not easy to find parking when you live in a house either. Leave it at home I'd say! Your halls/house, campus and town will almost always be in walking distance:)

Cathryn Rosalie Also, I know it depends, but does your maintenance loan (if you have one) cover your cost of living for a year? Or do many get jobs
@@cryz3856 Probably not the best to answer that because I don't have a maintenance loan but I have heard that it really depends - your maintenance loan depends usually on your parents' income (unless you lived alone for more than 3yrs in which case you can claim full) so I suppose your parents are expected to cover the rest... A lot of people have jobs though! There's jobs all around town in cafés, bars, supermarkets etc, jobs on campus, online tutoring - usually I'd say if you're serious about getting a job, you will be able to. Living expenses vary a lot here I'd say - you may know that quite a few Exeter students are well off so their budget tends to not be as tight. Hope this helps a little:)
There aren’t really car parks but there are roads to park on which is pay and display! Most first year halls don’t have parking facilities but when you live in a house you can get a parking permit for the year which I think is £30 x
