Other than lacking vitamins/nutrients and losing weight, there's not many complications in regards to fasting. I currently follow a ADF(Alternate day fasting) alternating with OMAD(one meal a day) eating schedule and works very well for me and one of the only reasons I can maintain good health due to dietary restrictions; although it's not something for everyone, especially ADF. phew, because i was watching this coincidentally after i had not eaten for 2 days ( i was too sick) and had just eaten a fat burger and fries. i was like oh am i gonna die now LOL
So as someone who was almost starved to death (long story) the hunger tiredness just goes UP. My record was I think 17hrs, and after awhile you WILL stop being hungry. All you’ll feel is tired. You can only sleep. After the four day mark you just stop feeling hunger for the most part. Also as everyone else is saying- yes. It’s 3 days for water. 3 weeks for hunger. For fasting like you’ve done, you should’ve eased yourself into it mostly because it was your first time. Light foods like fruit or vegetables throughout the day, easily digestible and easy to burn. Also- THANK you for drinking water throughout this. That is the most important part- also. I would’ve recommended sugary drinks but NOT soda- juices, drink mixes, to keep your glucose up for your blood sugar. Great vid! Very well done, mad lad! ❤
I feel the part about not knowing where the next meal is coming from. I'm currently in that situation, scraping just enough to buy rice and eggs. But when I do get to have something like chicken or other proteins, it feels extra special
I’ve struggled with a eating disorder for along time and it’s some how refreshing to see you eat with ease but also confusing how to was so hard so yah
3 years ago I didn’t eat for a week whilst travelling, I had run out money but been reading about fasting anyway so tested myself until I got paid. Wasn’t working that week and was ridiculously hard, my sleep was disrupted my body was full of stress the first few days. After 3 days I didn’t get hunger pans, just found a new baseline of sitting around all day and started to stay very calm. I weighed my lowest in years after that period and when i started eating again it felt like my body had been reset. Very interesting experience, wouldn’t do 7 days again but would definitely consider 4 days, after that amount the benefits showed.
I haven’t gone that long, but I have done 4 days. It helps if you get used to intermittent fasting first. Your body really adjusts to fasting in a pretty incredible way. For me it was: Day 1 lifted weights, felt great, no hunger. Day 2 rest day, felt good, some hunger. I did 2-day fasts pretty often, so my body expected food this day and I felt hungrier. Not bad though. Day 3 lifted again, felt great, a little bit of hunger. Day 4 no hunger at the start and felt great. Then I went on a super intense hike. After that I was absolutely starving and ate as soon as I could. Disclaimer for anyone who hasn’t tried fasting, talk to your doctor first, be careful, etc. Won’t feel good or be healthy for everyone. Intermittent fasting is safe for most, but going over 2 days without eating can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. Salt is your friend during long fasts.
I love that you take the time & space to be greatful for what you have outside of the jokiness of the video. As someone who grew up in a situation where meals were never guarenteed its really nice to see honestly

You kind of experienced what a purge of food from an eating disorder might feel like, being hit with exhaustion, sudden periods of not being hungry at all, etc. When I saw this video, my first thought is: starving yourself isn't going to allow you to eat more. In fact, it's going to probably make you eat less. (at least, personally.) Your appetite kind of disappears and your stomach shrinks all together. The first time i properly starved myself, I couldn't even finish half a bag of popcorn. Perhaps this applies differently since you only starved for 2days and not more. Eating a lot immediately will probably make you feel like shit and throw up majority of it, so it's good that you eased yourself in after starving. One thing that may help you get your money's worth is: Slowly adding more and more food to your daily meals, and also burning a lot more calories to maintain your physique, until it's buffet day. Avoid carbs and anything with a high water content such as soups or drinks, and you'll get your money's worth. (this is just a theory though, never tried by me).
Hey dude, I haven't done any research, but for the past couple months I've started fasting 24 hours a week (for religious reasons, not health reasons). I usually stuff myself at the end of it. Should I not be doing that or is 24 hrs not enough to cause problems?
@@wokekoala3888 24 hours should he fine just don’t eat super fast. Had to do this essentially for a colonoscopy. To make it more fun I got to drink a yucky thick serum that made me poop out EVERYTHING inside of my entire body. Water, bodily liquids and ofc food. I had no food for ab 1.5 days and when I was able to eat I got a bunch of food was so excited to eat it all, I think it was McDonald’s, then I had about like 1/5 of what I planned to eat before feeling completely full. I did not get refeeding syndrome and was fine.
1.5 days (even in the context of heavy use of laxatives + diuretics) isn’t generally long enough to get refeeding syndrome. Depending on your body fat composition, your electrolytic levels going into the fast, and your activity levels during the fast - refeeding syndrome sets in around 3-7+ days. I know I got it at 7-8 days.

During my army service at the end of our basic we had a "soldiers test" where we were tasked with marching long distances with no food and doing regular tasks you might get during wartime. This took about 50 hours. And well you definately felt the same things. Some people feel very nauseus for bursts, some people don't feel anything and just get really tired and some get incredibly agitated. But what I can say is that going without food for 1-2 days is something that can be a great learning experience as most people here in the west don't understand true hunger and what they will feel like if they have to go without food unwillingly. Nice video! edit: after 2 days of fasting though refeeding was not a problem for me as we got to eat burgers right after finnishing and we inhaled those fuckers with zero issues.
Yeah you're not gonna get refeeding syndrome from 2 days of not eating, that's not quite long enough to be properly malnourished and starving. Nice he tried to take some precautions and warn people that might try this though I guess.
2 friends and I used to go to an all you can eat buffet every weekend. After a long night of drinking, We'd wake up and get really high, then go eat. We'd take turns going out to the car to smoke more and come back in with a refreshed appetite. We always got more than our money's worth😂
To be fair you dont have to go that far Like daily schedule is: No breakfast Small lunch Some snacks and 2L of sweet drink at dinner and sometimes i dont even take snacks
@@arturjogi2667 Can you explain to me how you came to that unrealistic conclusion? There surely has to be data to back up your statement. Btw. I'm currently eating once a day. I tested the 2 day fasting for a year to see if it fits me.
its so interesting to watch this and I agree about the stomach stretching, cause when I don't eat for about 24 hours I tend to eat a lot less than I do when I'm eating normally as I can usually eat more food (I don't purposefully not eat btw, I sometimes forget or I have stomach problems in which case I usually fast for 24 hours to relieve it)
If you want to eat a lot it isn’t at all about your “stomach stretching” just eat low calorie food like apples and watermelons. You can eat 10 whole watermelons before 1 whole chicken
The bursts of not feeling hungry are when your body used some of your stored glucose. Usually stored glucose lasts about two days, after which point your body enter ketosis, a state where it burns your bodyfat directly for food. It's not recommended to fast for long periods of time, but two days is totally safe for most people (not a doctor). Also I'm so glad you knew to ease in to eating again, that's the most dangerous part!
Honestly this is so funny because it reminds me of my uncle who went to an all you can eat asian restaurant and he literally got kicked out because he ate so many portions.
Fun fact: the longest known fast achieved is 382 days. Extended fasting is an interesting experiment: I am used to doing 3 day fasts once a month. Turns out hunger is pretty much a mental amd hormone construct. Just be mindful of your electrolytes and vitamins/minerals (no fat-soluble supplements, of course). And yes, refeeding syndrome is a thing; a cup of good quality beef broth is perfect for breaking an extended fast.

phew, because i was watching this coincidentally after i had not eaten for 2 days ( i was too sick) and had just eaten a fat burger and fries. i was like oh am i gonna die now LOL

“I don’t know why I’m hungry… maybe it’s because I’m not eating😐”
😂😂😂
Was any of the weight loss long term or did your body bounce back to its set point pretty quick
I haven’t gone that long, but I have done 4 days. It helps if you get used to intermittent fasting first. Your body really adjusts to fasting in a pretty incredible way. For me it was:
Day 1 lifted weights, felt great, no hunger.

Also as someone who regularly fasts, my opinion, you should’ve waited an extra day before eating a lot of food like you did at 5:25
Hey dude, I haven't done any research, but for the past couple months I've started fasting 24 hours a week (for religious reasons, not health reasons). I usually stuff myself at the end of it. Should I not be doing that or is 24 hrs not enough to cause problems?
@@wokekoala3888 24 hours should he fine just don’t eat super fast. If you aren’t doing it for health reasons you shouldn’t worry about it but looking at it from a health standpoint, just eat slowly but when you fast for more then 36 hours and immediately stuff yourself. like he said, your stomach has to wake up.

My man is growing so fucking fast last time I checked
He did this for fun, I did it to cut weight in high school for wrestling to make weight. Hats off to this absolute dude.
@@bambi9609 yea I know, I didn’t think I’d get it. I was moreso saying it….actually I’m not sure, I posted this a few days ago but have the brain the size of a wallnut.
This is so old school youtube vibes i love it

its so interesting to watch this and I agree about the stomach stretching, cause when I don't eat for about 24 hours I tend to eat a lot less than I do when I'm eating normally as I can usually eat more food (I don't purposefully not eat btw, I sometimes forget or I have stomach problems in which case I usually fast for 24 hours to relieve it)
LETS GOOO KODEKAI UPLOADED
If you want to eat a lot it isn’t at all about your “stomach stretching” just eat low calorie food like apples and watermelons. You can eat 10 whole watermelons before 1 whole chicken
You can actually go without food for weeks, but you can only go for like 3 days without water.
Did he drive around until 3am looking for another all you can eat resturant and when he couldnt find one, he went fishing?

Fun fact: the longest known fast achieved is 382 days. Extended fasting is an interesting experiment: I am used to doing 3 day fasts once a month. Turns out hunger is pretty much a mental amd hormone construct. Just be mindful of your electrolytes and vitamins/minerals (no fat-soluble supplements, of course). And yes, refeeding syndrome is a thing; a cup of good quality beef broth is perfect for breaking an extended fast.
