    *Correction Update:
    1. The Roborock S7 rubber brush can be opened at both sides to remove entangled hair.
    2. The Ecovacs Deebot T9 does come with multi map support, however it is not very user friendly to get that implemented.

    • @JB-NZ
      @JB-NZ 2 роки тому

      Thanks - with the T9 multi map/level support, you pick up the robot and move it and it recognises the room, you don't need a charging station on each floor so it has a reference point, right?

    just like to point out that you can actually remove both ends of the roborock brush. the cap that is supposedly fixed (in your video) needs to be twisted so that the triangles don't align, then it'll come off. it's in the manual.

    I’ve been using a roborock s6 max for some time now. It’s a champ. I set it up for auto daily cleaning at 3am and 11am. My property is about 3000sqft. Makes my house so clean. Less work. Occasionally I just vacuum the corners, hard to reach areas. Emptying the bin is much easier than vacuuming the entire house lol. And u don’t have to do it everyday. Moping does an okay job. Ofc it will not be perfect even with daily robot moping. But guarantee u will notice the floors will be much cleaner overtime. I bought spare mopping clothes to make cleanup faster. I have two floors, so I bought two. If you want to clean the rooms, u have to open the doors lah.
    Still waiting for roborock or any company to make more significant upgrades. Before I replace my robo servants lol. Vibrating mops doesn’t do it for me. Maybe wait for next gen model.

      Thanks for sharing! 100% agree on a much cleaner house everyday especially with 0 effort. I think the robovac tech is moving quite fast which is ultimately a good time for consumers. A replacement every 3 yrs i think is gd

    From my point of view, the S7+ is the best because it navigates the house with ease, it shows the areas it mops, as well as the areas it vacuums, the app does a great job of identifying rooms and allowing you to split/merge them, as well as add "no go" or "no mop" zones, and is cleaning very well!

    Hello, after watching countless hours of vacuum robots I went for the deebot t9 plus. I was really happy to see that the main brush is now rubber and not like the one you showed in the video. For now the only concern that I have is the app, 1 out of 3 times it doesn't work correctly (doesn't open or recognise the robot immediately). Closing and reopening the app does the job but it is quite annoing.
    Owned now for more than a months and I am super happy with the results. Also corners and edges are really well cleaned too. Oh one last ting, once it did get stuck with a cable, so my suggestion is always trying to put them up.

    Hi, I will not say the item isn’t good when it works but it didn’t last more that 10 months with regular maintenance. Now after warranty has just lapsed 13 months, ecovacs could easily send one part (the water reservoir which was faulty and the screws rust, but they expect me to pay for the postage, labour, repairs and parts.
    I would not waste $1000 again if I knew it would only last the warranty period.

    My deebot t8 broke because our dog ripped up a toilet roll and it got stuck.
    So I just bought the t9.
    I find it has a much better navigation system because it's not getting stuck like the previous model would around our bed and one place near some curtains. It's also not as loud and has more power.
    I don't care about mopping though. I use a bissell mop vacuum for that.

    I would respectfully disagree about how the T9 is wasting time for what u called obstacle. These spots under the furnitures are prone to having dust and dirts under them and I'm sure anyone would appreciate the robot cleaning it up instead of ignoring it. Also, you are likely doing something else while the robot is cleaning so it doesn't matter if it takes an extra 10-20mins as long as the place gets cleaned ! 😁

    This video didn't address the issue of battery life, which is significant if you have a larger house (i.e. more than about 900 sq. feet).
    If you run a Roborock vacuum in "MAX" mode, you will actually only get a runtime of about 100 minutes (or about 900 sq. feet). Aren’t you always going to vacuum on the max setting, same as you always do with a regular vacuum? That means I can't finish my entire first floor at night in a single run. Nor can I finish my entire upstairs or basement in a single run. These robot vacuums also take a very long time to completely recharge since charging from 20% to 100% takes a Roborock about 4.2 hours.
    My big point is that battery life becomes a much bigger issue when 1) your house has more than one level, and 2) each level of your house is more than 900 sq. feet. The value of the auto-empty dock also degrades significantly with a multi-level house, unless you are willing to constantly carry the dock from floor to floor.

    • @AlexTeo
      @AlexTeo  2 роки тому

      I don't think people normally run robovac or regular vacuum always at the max setting, products aren't engineered for that as well, dyson's omni-glide on 'max' mode can only last for 4mins. Most of the robovac reviews don't focus on battery life anymore because of the auto-charge and auto-resume feature. Unless the whole house is fully carpeted else I don't find it necessary to run with higher or max setting.
      My apartment is about 1200sqft, effective cleaning area is only half of that. If I were to stay in a big house with 4 levels with each level more than 900sqft cleaning area, I will have a separate charging dock on alt levels for it to recharge, they cost very little. Or I might even go with 2 robovacs for such a big house, better than doing manual cleaning myself man

  • @TheHailstorm77
    @TheHailstorm77 2 роки тому +2

    The problem with these robot vaccums is it’s too early in the stages or how well engineered and well developed these bots are as they all still have pros and cons. That being said having a very pricey bot vaccum is not worth it. Especially, when these lithium batteries don’t last and the life expectancy is maybe 5 years and you have to buy another one.
    It’s best to get the Shark AI XL self emptying bin as it’s the cheapest and affordable. It does the job. Not perfect but it vaccums. You would think IRobot would keep up with LIDAR technology using laser mounted instead of the camera but consumers will start to take notice that LIDAR is the best for detection and mapping.
    Give it about 5 more years and the vaccums will eventually become faster, reliable and can vaccum longer.

    • @AlexTeo
      @AlexTeo  2 роки тому

      unfortunately Shark robovac don't seem to be locally distributed in singapore else I would love to try out their products. I don't think we can say that the tech is still in the early stages, but it's definitely moving pretty fast from what I see especially from China. Having said that, I think refreshing every 3 years is quite reasonable looking at the usage frequency and number of moving parts

    Hi alex that was a good comparison video. Keypoint u mentioned to get a dedicated mopping vaccum is very good idea if space and budget is ideal as these robots really keep the floors clean. My biggest problem with robot vacuums is when my dogs poop while the machine is running and I do not notice. Somehow my deebot and arbot both cannot sense the poops and create their own art pieces all over the house - total cleaning nightmare. Wonder if you have had that experience, and if any of these 3 models did a good job avoiding said poop?

    • @AlexTeo

      my dog poop timing is pretty fixed so no issue. The way robovac detects poop (if they have this feature) is using AI object recognition, AI result is never 100% accurate. Since poop also come with various shape and sizes, sometime it is just not obvious enough for the robovac to detect as a poop

My house is 1000sqft and I want to get a robo-mop so I don't have to keep mopping. I can't wait to see your next video for another thorough comparison for just robo-mops. If I were to right now, I would prefer the ecovac over the roborock - I love how the ecovac is cleaner but I hate the messy route it creates. I love the silence of the roborock but it leaves crumbs in the corners ):?! Hahaha.

      @@dr_920 Yes I know it does that, but I meant does it do it automatically at once its bin is full, same way as iRobot Roomba does. That was the question, but I've checked elsewhere and apparently it doesn't have those same sensors as iRobot, so it doesn't know when its bin (the robots) is full and will continue cleaning even when no trash can fit in it anymore, which is kinda disappointing. But hopefully newer models will have those similar features as iRobot has and it can also autoempty it once its sensors says the bin is full and then continue the job, just like with charging.

    1) most quiet, that I prefer - Roborock
    2) object dectection, important coz my house has clutter left behind by family members - Ecovacs
    3) edge cleaning, fairly important as I am currently using tineco ifloor to vacuum + mop, so if I were to get a robo vacuum, I kinda hope it can clean the edges well coz my ifloor can't get that close to the edges...
    I am yet able to decide if I will get a robo vacuum or just a stick vacuum & the Black+Decker steam mop which you recommended... Thought to just get 1 more item to complement my cleaning routine on top of using ifloor... Unless.... Maybe if ifloor breaks down then I get it's most recently released cousin which can vacuum-mop edges, then I will get Ecovacs. Lol... I should just wait la...
