1. The Roborock S7 rubber brush can be opened at both sides to remove entangled hair.
2. The Ecovacs Deebot T9 does come with multi map support, however it is not very user friendly to get that implemented.

Thanks - with the T9 multi map/level support, you pick up the robot and move it and it recognises the room, you don't need a charging station on each floor so it has a reference point, right?
Also the first robot vacuum with auto empty station was Ecovac's. Not the iRobot.
@@Avucoda irobot has it back at 2018, when is ecovacs'?
@@AlexTeo To talk about on this link: ua-cam.com/video/mU8-qi0jcU4/v-deo.html
It was 2012. And also i did my research more detailed and found out it was way back than. A company named Karscher did it in 2009 i guess. But it was so expensive like the first commercial robot vacuum electrolux which introduced in 2001.
@@Avucoda feels like we are not even comparing at the same level of products. If you want to go such extend then who knows one can find some prototype in the 90s or 80s
Really appreciate the work you put into testing these vacuums. Very impressive work!
Wow you definitely put in alot of effort putting all this together for your viewers! Thank you very much for the honest opinions.
This is why I'm watching this too. Vacuum wars hasn't covered this, yet, and the others appear to be clearly paid off by different manufacturers.
The uploader is upfront that they got all three for free too, which is nice to know
O
The best robot-review I have ever seen. Very systematically covers everything you need to know, and translate pro/cons of features very well. Thank You Alex !!!
thanks! glad you find my robovac videos useful
Merry xmas Alex! Thats hell lot of effort for robot comparison!👍🏻👍🏻
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2022!
Merry Christmas Alex.
Merry christmas alex
MERRY Christmas!
Excellent comparison and reviews! Plenty of detail and I like how you gave a qualitative assessment versus numeric score. Thank you very much! When will you do the comparison of dedicated mopping robots?
thanks for the comment! I am humbled. My next video is on the ecovacs x1 omni, then followed by a mopping robot soon after. Not a comparison video though since they are not positioned the same
What a lucky neighbour! I also want to stay near Alex 😂
just like to point out that you can actually remove both ends of the roborock brush. the cap that is supposedly fixed (in your video) needs to be twisted so that the triangles don't align, then it'll come off. it's in the manual.
mine is very tight scare to spoil it if i put too much force, but you are right thanks for pointing that out, I will pin up this comment!
Hi Alex Happy New Year enjoyed your video! You are right about getting the automatic dust disposal I have 2 ECOVACS and 2 dust disposal so convenient!! Please do a review on the automatic mopping gadget would like to get one so no need to manually mop!!
By far and away the very best comparison of cleaners I have ever seen. Fabulous job and VERY much appreciated.
Wow, thank you!
Thank you for the good comparison and honest remarks. I don't own any yet and is considering to get one when my helper contract is over in a few months time.
go for one!
We just bought our first robot, compared to the robots in this video it's a few years behind current gen vacuums. But I'm fascinated by what these robots can do and where the tech is going. I think it will definitely be worth the upgrade in a couple of years to something like these robots. Love your thorough review
that's right, they are a life savior
Watch out for the robots revolution tho.
Comments like yours from people who bought a few months or a few years ago are incredibly important to those of us who are still "about to buy our first" a very sincerest thank you for making the effort and posting your sentiments. John, Perth, Western Australia.
Thats a very detailed review and very helpful! Pls make more of such videos 🙏
Sure!
Hello, after watching countless hours of vacuum robots I went for the deebot t9 plus. I was really happy to see that the main brush is now rubber and not like the one you showed in the video. For now the only concern that I have is the app, 1 out of 3 times it doesn't work correctly (doesn't open or recognise the robot immediately). Closing and reopening the app does the job but it is quite annoing.
Owned now for more than a months and I am super happy with the results. Also corners and edges are really well cleaned too. Oh one last ting, once it did get stuck with a cable, so my suggestion is always trying to put them up.
yours should be deebot T9 aivi? i don't have these problems with the app you mentioned though, but as long as you are very happy overall on your purchase then that's alright!
Hi alex that was a good comparison video. Keypoint u mentioned to get a dedicated mopping vaccum is very good idea if space and budget is ideal as these robots really keep the floors clean. I have to say the deebot app experience is really bad when the map screws up. This happens when the robot knocks and shift the dock even slightly.
when doing all the testing i shifted the dock, then i tap on the name of your map, it is able to update the location, pretty alright actually. But the multi level is a headache though lol
Good comparisons, thanks for the review and effort. Malaysia 🇲🇾
I’ve been using a roborock s6 max for some time now. It’s a champ. I set it up for auto daily cleaning at 3am and 11am. My property is about 3000sqft. Makes my house so clean. Less work. Occasionally I just vacuum the corners, hard to reach areas. Emptying the bin is much easier than vacuuming the entire house lol. And u don’t have to do it everyday. Moping does an okay job. Ofc it will not be perfect even with daily robot moping. But guarantee u will notice the floors will be much cleaner overtime. I bought spare mopping clothes to make cleanup faster. I have two floors, so I bought two. If you want to clean the rooms, u have to open the doors lah.
Still waiting for roborock or any company to make more significant upgrades. Before I replace my robo servants lol. Vibrating mops doesn’t do it for me. Maybe wait for next gen model.
Thanks for sharing! 100% agree on a much cleaner house everyday especially with 0 effort. I think the robovac tech is moving quite fast which is ultimately a good time for consumers. A replacement every 3 yrs i think is gd
New video on Christmas?? Wow Alex, thanks for the present :) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!
haha a simple comment that will make my day!
Thanks for the fantastic videos, Alex! Two thumbs up! 👍👍. BTW, I was wondering if you could test to see if these robovac scratches marble and parquet flooring. These are the more traditional flooring and they're often scratched by the old fashioned vacumms. Wonder if robovacs are able to do better in this aspect.
old models do give scratch marks on my vinyl flooring, but so far these didn't give any thank god
I think one feature you could add up for the comparison is the step avoidance. I just bought the roborock s7 and it cant avoid a floor step, I have to close my toilet room door to prevent the s7 from falling the step, quite disappointed with its performance
Thank you for the comparison once again, time to replace my Hydra S7.
Have a Blessed X'mas
Looking forward to the auto empty + self-cleaning mop robot in the next video!
Best review yet regarding these models.....i own t9+ at my house, and i can guarantee you it can save more than one floor...
hmm can I check where you are from? because mine couldn't do that. Let me check with ecovacs official support regarding this
I love your video very much. Very honest and good explaination
thanks man!
Thank you for this very informative video!
Really well done video mate! Thankyou. Your English is perfect.
My deebot t8 broke because our dog ripped up a toilet roll and it got stuck.
So I just bought the t9.
I find it has a much better navigation system because it's not getting stuck like the previous model would around our bed and one place near some curtains. It's also not as loud and has more power.
I don't care about mopping though. I use a bissell mop vacuum for that.
The next generation x1 deebot that's now out. Is much better for mopping but it's price is a bit to high at the moment.
the "floating" wall mounted storage cabinet in the living room is really clever
Thank you for the detailed review
this vid really helps! although i have a question. im from indonesia and i think im having troubles finding roborock s7+ here, but someone sells the s7 without +. is the 2 the same?
without the + means its without the auto empty station
Thank alex. I was torn between samsung jetbot (1099) and robos7 ($1499)... samsung becos of its poor life span...alot of my phone doesnt last above 2years and my washing machine broke down less than a year... but now i bought their new fridge with lcd panel. I looking forward to their home demo. No brainer for me as i also do not like mop in a robot cleaner. I was thinkin about s7 but the price was really steep and there no good deals yet at shopee and lazada. At such .with your video. I decided to go with samsung jetbot as i goimg use their smart home with my fridge and Digital lock. I will giv it a try .hope it last for at least 3-5yrs ..but i do really like the s7 bin design... Thank alex for the great video and experience. I skip alot of reserch .haha.
wow nice, that fridge is cool should have gotten that for myself as well, same for the lock. The price for the S7 is indeed too high imo but their bin is good that it is not so tall, can actually hide it under suspended cabinets. Thanks for sharing!
@@AlexTeo yes me too. S7 bin catch my eye too ...sad on the price
I just bought a RobotNox and I have to say that I am very impressed. Thanks guys for recommending.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hope the prices goes down 3 years down the road before I get my own unit (HDB extended another year sobs). Wouldn't go so bad buying the old models I guess?
The tech will probably change a lot after 3yrs, it has been moving quite fast in my opinion
really helpful review. thanks for this :)
Hi Alex, great review. May I know when will you review on the robots for mopping function ?
not so soon! probably march or april
Thanks Alex. These reviews are very useful. I have got the answer now.
Ecovacs can do multi maps! I have the N8 (older) and ut uses multiple maps. You need to save the map after first cleaning to unlock that feature.
It's unfortunate that they only allow two maps.
Brilliant video. I’ve had the Deebot T9+ for several months now and when it works flawlessly, it’s fantastic. But the bloody app and firmware is very buggy.
hahah yup i did feedback, but good thing is you hardly need to access the app once everything has been setup nicely
Hi Alex, great comparison vid! If I am intending to use SmartThings as my hub, does this mean that I am only left with one choice out of the three aka Samsung JetBot+?
not a very big deal to have it inside smarttThings hub, missing some automations only. You can still have all at google home or alexa
Nicely done review! but can you compare their charging time especially for roborock & deebot? I currently mop twice a day with my S7 due to my home size and would prefer not to wait a long time for recharges.
hmm sorry didn't really test that but definitely can be done, just make sure you give enough time between the 2 cleaning cycle else both robots support going back to dock to charge and resume too
This is a good comparison video for local content! Definitely good non bias review and it helped me to decide which robo vacuum to choose. Hopefully you will produce more electronic items reviews! Earned yourself a sub!
thanks for the sub!
Which did you choode?
Choose🤯
Awesome review video!!
Would be interesting to see a contrast video or blue light video sort showing the balance of the dirt left behind by either bots after cleaning
out of my video production capability haha
@@AlexTeo hahaha maybe next time you get sponsors for that. Wish you the best in that. I've bought some blue light torches online and find them quite strong for scanning dust and etc on my white carpentry area. Not sure if any bigger scale is reasonably priced for your filming use or not
Great info Alex👏👏👏now the difficult part is which one to get.. hmmmm
haha up to you to figure out what's more important for you, but like I said all these 3 are easy to recommend
I have Roborock S5 MAX for one and half year it cleans very good but I'm thinking to buy deepot N9 with mopping system but still I have no idea about it. Thanks for your demonstration
can you do a review of cheap/affordable and good cold press juicer. dont have to top branded names.
Merry Xmas the ECOVACS and Roborock looks good :) hope I get a Xmas present
🤭
THANK YOU!! So useful
Tks for the details vid....Keep it up....
An excellent report! Thanks to your exhaustive analysis, I have decided that I will buy the Samsung, and later I will buy a dedicated robot scrubber. I sincerely congratulate you on the quality of this test, honest and well explained. Greetings from Barcelona, Spain
wow thank you all the way from spain!
Wow!!! You live in Singapore aswell!!??? I never thought of getting myself a roomba but I currently have a vacuum cleaner.
yup haha, robotvac is the best!
Thanks for the very comprehensive video!
thanks!
Thanks for calling out the navigation and lidar tech used, other reviewers didn't mention this and I ended up buying the Ecovacs and hated it because it's navigation was so terrible it took 12 hours to clean my house! For comparison, the Neato D7 took 3. I lived with it for 4-5 months and finally left a bad review on Amazon and was surprised when Ecovacs contacted me and said I can return it which I gladly accepted. I'm now waiting for the new Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. From your review and others, I'm convinced Roborock is the better vacuum.
at least the customer service is good!
I'm moving soon and have landed on getting the S7 maxV ultra from their online store at shopee after watching multiple yt assessments. Would you say it's a worthwhile purchase personally and any pitfalls you'll warn of? Thanks (:
@@Ceryllove I love my S7 MaxV. I have two. I have the ultra on my first floor, and the regular self empting model for my basement. The roborock is my favorite robot vacuum I've owned and I've owned at least a handful.
@@AnthonyGale thanks for your reply! Gives me more confidence in making the purchase (:
Great review. Shared to my wife for her viewing and finalize on her choice of robovac. 😁👍
so what is the final verdict haha
Now she's asking me to decide since i have watched your review..hahaha..shifting her dilemma to me. 😅
@@dtographywandy2985 roborock s7max if possible and the ecovac T9
Used deebot for quite a while and found that mapping was a big issue, once or twice a month somehow the map shifted making all the boundaries etc useless so had to reset the map which is very annoying and time consuming
Did it ever resolve with updates?
Good review although I really think you should always include price comparisons in review videos
price is very different based on where you live, for eg i recommend Ecovacs T9+ for most value because of the price I see in singapore, but some countries have roborock much cheaper
Nice! I'm a iRobot user, and I must say the vacuum capability and the detangle rollers are still unmatched if we're comparing against the 3 brands you've shown. :)
Which model are u using? Yes their vacuum capability is probably unmatched especially for carpetted floors, their dual rubber rollers are being used by ecovacs currently in their latest models already
@@AlexTeo which models are those?
iRobot unmatched? 🤣 Even my two year old Neato Botvac runs circles around my new Roomba. They have definitely fallen behind other brands. I couldn't believe how dumb the Roomba is and how it still relies heavily on its bumper to navigate, bumping into almost everything. Enough videos out there showing just how terrible they really are compared to other flagships. Unfortunately I didn't see them in time. Never getting a Roomba again.
From my point of view, the S7+ is the best because it navigates the house with ease, it shows the areas it mops, as well as the areas it vacuums, the app does a great job of identifying rooms and allowing you to split/merge them, as well as add "no go" or "no mop" zones, and is cleaning very well!
I love your critique and thorough comparison between these investment products. Amazon in the USA is still having discounts on these. My house is 1000sqft and I want to get a robo-mop so I don't have to keep mopping. I can't wait to see your next video for another thorough comparison for just robo-mops. (I like the idea of full functionality and not half-half jobs)
If I were to right now, I would prefer the ecovac over the roborock - I love how the ecovac is cleaner but I hate the messy route it creates. I love the silence of the roborock but it leaves crumbs in the corners ):?! Hahaha.
but how often will you have crumbs in the corners haha, so actually I don't weight vacuum performance so much personally, as long as no issue with dust and hair which is your everyday cleaning is fine. In US, you have more options than us in Singapore for the mopping robot! Very limited choice here if I want something with local warranty
Very nice review. One question about Roborock S7 (that's the one I'm planning on getting): Does it automatically sense when its own bin is full and goes to empty it before continuing the cleaning job, or does it try to finish it even if it's too full?
ideally you want to set to auto empty whenever it finishes cleaning, no reason to wait till the bin is full
@@AlexTeo What I mean is, if the robots bin is full before it finishes the job, does it return to the dock and empty it by itself, like iRobot Roomba models do and then continue the job?
@@finnishfatman I have used it for a while and it empties the bin everytime once it returns to the dock after cleaning
@@dr_920 Yes I know it does that, but I meant does it do it automatically at once its bin is full, same way as iRobot Roomba does. That was the question, but I've checked elsewhere and apparently it doesn't have those same sensors as iRobot, so it doesn't know when its bin (the robots) is full and will continue cleaning even when no trash can fit in it anymore, which is kinda disappointing. But hopefully newer models will have those similar features as iRobot has and it can also autoempty it once its sensors says the bin is full and then continue the job, just like with charging.
Is there much difference between the t8 and the t9?
Deebot got to be my fav. Cheapest is the keyword 😅
Very useful review, appreciated. Would u have a chance to review clean robot with mapping function?
hmm what do you mean by 'clean robot with mapping function'? able to elaborate more?
Just bought a Deebot T9+, it vacuums well. Still haven't set up the app features because I'm waiting for my internet to be set up at home. New house, just moved in. Unsure if it works directly from the mobile phone without home internet, instructions aren't clear on that.
I went for jet bot. Cant wait to try it out!
nice!
Thank you this video was very healthful
A great review!
Have you tried Electrolux pure i9? It has laser too. But will be interest to see how it compares to the rest
seems like a super old model already
Hi Alex, would like to have your opinion on Mijia price range robots. Other than the price factor, are there any good in getting those models if I’m not into thorough complete cleaning, but rather reducing the effort I need for manual cleaning?
if you are not particular with cleaning performance, then you have to ask yourself what are the other features you are looking for
Great review!
Wow! This this by far the most exciting comparison coz I hvn decided which to buy...
Sadly after watching your video putting them to various tests, these are my opinions:
1) most quiet, that I prefer - Roborock
2) object dectection, important coz my house has clutter left behind by family members - Ecovacs
3) edge cleaning, fairly important as I am currently using tineco ifloor to vacuum + mop, so if I were to get a robo vacuum, I kinda hope it can clean the edges well coz my ifloor can't get that close to the edges...
I am yet able to decide if I will get a robo vacuum or just a stick vacuum & the Black+Decker steam mop which you recommended... Thought to just get 1 more item to complement my cleaning routine on top of using ifloor... Unless.... Maybe if ifloor breaks down then I get it's most recently released cousin which can vacuum-mop edges, then I will get Ecovacs. Lol... I should just wait la...
Btw, thank you for doing this comparison video as it answers several of my concerns/questions!
haha all have their own use case. I will always recommend a robovac first if your household is suitable for one. My stick vacuum is mainly for surface cleaning only, then for mopping I still go with a steam mop weekly. But if you have an ifloor already then a steam mop will not be very useful for you
Have you looked into the newly released Roborock Dyad wet/dry vacuum? May not be as intriguing to you since you own an ifloor, but it appears to be good for edge to edge cleaning. I just got one and I’m using the Roborock for day to day cleaning on fake hardwood (apartment).
Hi Alex, where do u recommend buying Ecovacs or Roborock from? Any physical store? Thanks
buy online using the shopee links in the video description if you are based in singapore
Does anyone know what's the app he's using to measure how noisy they are?
A very good review and was contemplating between Ecovacs or Roborock, but i recently saw on shopee, they have ILife L100, do you think this is a better and cheaper option, whats your take.
didn't try that before, but in the case of robovac I will prefer not to go with a very budget option
Hi, thanks for all the awesome video which helps me a lot for my planning of moving to my new house. I’m only left with the last piece of puzzle which is a robot with vacuum and mop. Will u still recommend debot t9+ , I am really leaning towards this as it’s cost is around my budget and from your review it seems to be very solid. Any advise?
yup the T9+ or the S7 are all good robots, however my last robovac video is my latest recommendation
Hi Alex, wonder have you tried airbot vacum robot ? I used their vacum with self cleaning, its good.
nah didn't try before
Worth noting that Ecovacs T9 has a razor + brush included on the robot itself that you can use to cut tangled hair.
Yeah it does though i didn't feel its worth mentioning haa
Tnx! 👍
May I kindly ask how often/frequency do I need to top up the water tank? Or topping up is required after one normal vaccum+mop session? *For Ecovacs Deebot T9
it depends on how big is the cleaning area and the mop water flow setting. 1 full tank can complete around 550ft2 at default setting
Great review thanks
Great review 🔥
Hi again Alex, Thanks for another useful video. I can't wait for the day when the robots can vacuum and mop effectively, and with very little post-cleaning maintenance. I mean affordable robots. 😂 By the way, I've given up on using my Hizero.
hahah right now robots are good for daily use. What's wrong with your hizero?
You covered so much details except the main one (at least to me) - the retail prices of all three.
Price keep changing due to all the different ongoing promo, i have included product links in the video description if you are based in Singapore, else go with your local distribution channel
Can all of these 3 robot vacuums overcome low steps / thresholds? I have a small step down from the living into the kitchen of about 2-3cm. Would like the robot to be able to vacuum the kitchen too. Thanks!
hmm this is hard to answer, would have to refer to each individual product' safety instruction. That said, i think its more of whether the 3cm will trigger the anti-fall mechanism. The best way is to just do an actual test haha
Great review! I notice you are charging all 3 robot vacuum at your living room. Does each robot vacuum come with a auto empty station + smaller charging base?
the ecovacs and roborock do come with the small charging base but not the samsung
I got the Samsung during a black Friday sale. I like everything about it except the app. It uses the smart things app instead of it’s own proprietary app and is kind of clunky. For instance: you can schedule the robot to run automatically but you cannot set schedules for each room which would be nice. I emailed Samsung support for this and they said it might be added in the future but had no plans on adding it anytime soon.
you can actually set schedules for which rooms you want to clean, it is there. DM me on IG if you can't find the options, I send you screenshots
@@AlexTeo I will do that thank you! I cannot for the life of me figure this out.
I have the Samsung because I found it half price and new.
The first ever auto empty bin robot vacuum was a Robot from Kärcher made in Germany: Karcher robo cleaner RC3.000
So thankful for your reviews here. It really helped my family to make a decision. And that’s NOT to get a robo vac. It’s just too stressful to clean out from the ‘work’ they do. The roller clean out was my deal breaker at 9mins of this review. But else, thanks a great deal. Otherwise would be a totally waste of money.
if your family has really long hair then ya no choice, no issue for short hair
I agree, would rather just get a basic vacuum that doesn't store my hair in the roller 🤪
Hey Alex, thanks for sharing your expertise, we’re about to invest in a Robot Vacuum and Mop and I’d love to hear if you have any favourites today? We have all tile and vinyl flooring, no pets currently. What do you suggest? We really value you’re opinion. Thanks
Perfect timing, my updated robot vac video coming this sunday
Can you compare Dreame Bot L10s Ultra and Xiaomi Roidmi EVE Plus in detail ?
Do you have any feedback on which robot vacuum is the best for the house with carpet flooring?
didn't test that because that is not common in singapore
Hey Alex could you please help me to decide? I am not sure which1 to get, I can have Jetbot+ and T9+ for same price but I am so confused, which one is overall better value for money?
If you are going to have only one robot and you need mopping then of course get the T9+
Impressive amounts of tests! I'm Korean but would never buy a Samsung because they are severely overpriced in Korea. So I'd stick with Xiaomi or Roborock.
On a side note, very interesting Singlish accent. I have quite a few Singaporean friends and find the accents vary quite a lot from person to person. Wonder why that would be?
maybe your friends are actually from malaysia or hongkong? Because singapore accent all sounds the same to me haha
Hi, did you have any mapping issues or map dropping when it came for the deebot t9?
Encounter once. But you can backup map now and do restore
I have the Roborock s4 max, that LiDAR system is amazing. Roborock builds the best robo vacuum’s to date IMO
I am only going to use robots that use LiDAR
Do you think it'd be possible to put the S7 brush on a S5max? The sides seems exactly the same, so that would be just a question of overall size.
As the S7 brush handles hairs in a much better way, that would make a great upgrade for the S5max for a very small price :)
that would be awesome if you could try that please!
unfortunately my S5 died...
I experience with Xiaomi vaccum cleaner on the hair tanglement, able to open both sides is extremely helpful. Just wondering on the Samsung jetbot type of brush, that video shows a stress test and both end are sealed. I'm just curious how about usual day to day cleaning, how bad is the tanglement, or it's close to none?
i will say its close to none unless you have really long hair in the house
Just to put into perspective, Xiaomi vaccum that uses the normal brush, I have plenty of hair tangled and have to remove it once 2-3 mth. If have long hair in the house, will you still recommend jetbot?
@@ho888sg it is not so bad because the jetbot does come with a self cleaning grinder that helps a bit. Frequency to clean is longer but its harder each time you want to clean it compared to the other 2 models
My biggest problem with robot vacuums is when my dogs poop while the machine is running and I do not notice. Somehow my deebot and arbot both cannot sense the poops and create their own art pieces all over the house - total cleaning nightmare. Wonder if you have had that experience, and if any of these 3 models did a good job avoiding said poop?
my dog poop timing is pretty fixed so no issue. The way robovac detects poop (if they have this feature) is using AI object recognition, AI result is never 100% accurate. Since poop also come with various shape and sizes, sometime it is just not obvious enough for the robovac to detect as a poop
Thx very much! It's very useful. I noticed scratch marks at 7:00 , is that because of Roborock 7??
yeah but it is from my roborock 5, i have no idea how it happened
@@AlexTeo thx a lot. Relieves me! As i am planning to go for Roborock s7.
Thx for very good review and so quick reply indeed. 👏🎉👍😊
Like your comparison although Robot vacuum not suitable for my lifestyle. Too many misc things on the floor. I rather just vacuum myself with a wireless vacuum.
After watching your vids, i decided to buy Samsung. Cos i prefer to separate mopping from vacuum. So far loving it! But i observed some rooms were cleaned in dual direction (horizontal and vertical), others in 1 direction (vertical only). Do you experience that?
hmm... can't recall that but most likely its your settings
