other mclarens have active aero they dont cost a million 765LT and down. and also not necessarily air brake but active aero is on a lot of porsches and Lamborghini has the ALA active aero. technically ford gt if picked you can get for 600k has air brake and active aero. oh and those Chrysler crossfire has active aero and spoiler. so a bunch of cars under a million that have active aero including a used high mile veyron and CGT

I'll just go ahead and officially address this here since the comments are already rolling in about car UA-camrs who buy supercars. No, I'm not a supercar only channel now. My next few videos are on my Grand National, DSM builds, my $4,000, 200,000 mile Chevy Van, etc. I like a little bit of everything and fixing a broken supercar has always been on my list. So the channel is still the same, I won't be doing supercar rally videos or videos where I visit my friends house who just bought a new supercar so we can rev it and talk the entire time. I will always buy broken cool cars and have a blast bringing them back to life. Hope you guys enjoy the McLaren series and can't wait to show you the next video!

Those channels are just a reflection of where the car scene is at right now. (Back in the 90's) We used to meet up, and then go drive. Now car guys meet up and then either stand around talking or do stupid s*** in parking lots. I don't go to many car meets any more.
It would be my personal opinion that anyone who is concerned about Alex being a supercar channel after this video obviously has not seen any of his previous video's and his love for the GN, turbo T/A, etc, etc. Personally I am excited to see what Alex does with a Supercar as it just adds to the channel.

Good idea. Please hot rod a dump truck like a crazy Russian/easter bloc man. Spin donuts in parking lots and freight train fuckers on the highway with it.
You will also want to replace every coolant hose clamp. Do not use the OEM ones. Thorney motorsports sells a kit.

Growing up I was never into supercars, but man the MP4-12C immediately grabbed my attention the first time I saw it as a concept. Since then it's been my only dream car, and I've become such a nerd about it I've memorized the reasoning for naming scheme. M = Mclaren, P4 = Project 4, 12 = Mclaren international performance index, C = carbon. Best of luck on the project!

You have the ESG, external sound generator delete. There is a block off plate on the side of the intake. The ESG pipes intake noise into the cabin. There is a bladder in it that fails. Most just install the block off plate and delete the ESG.

I couldnt normally care less about supercars, but I'm hyped to see what you do with this. The exhaust and turbos sound AMAZING.
Based on the engine sound, it sounds like the OEM foam that lines the air filter boxes has been removed. You will want to check them. The foam breaks down and clogs the air filters.

Even though I watch all the way from a small nordic country in Europe🇩🇰, I couldn't care less what car you buy and fix/mod. I personally drive a 2013 RS6, so I would love to see some (for you RS7) content in the future!
Joke aside - it REALLY is not about what kind of car you guys bring on the channel. It can be broken up into a couple of short sentences
1. Knowledge (you guys share alot of knowledge. I'm a diesel mechanic at 25 years of age, but I have still learnt tons of new things from watching your channel).
2. Entertaining. (Just grade A stuff really)
3. Humor. - needs no explanation.
4. Down to earth. (It doesn't matter if it's a 4000 dollar workvan or a 300k supercar. Cool cars are cool cars)
I hope I can help shut down all the nay-sayers that forced you to make a statement.

Absolutely love the content! Love the car. One thing McLaren's are notorious for is breaking alot but I think you guys can handle fixing it. This could be the most interesting series yet!
I have heard that as well. However, I've had 2 friends who have owned them, and they have not had problems. We drove one a 120 miles away to a track day, beat the piss out of it, and drove it home. No problems. Something tells me they are having some consistency issues more than anything. If you get a good one, you're lucky great enjoy it, If you get one that's built on a Monday, well, good luck. As amazing as those cars are when they are working, I personally wouldn't roll dice. It's perfect for Alex since he can fix it.
When money is no object. As the saying goes, if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Well, if you decide that 615hp isn't enough, the Evo Motorsports MP4-12C turbo upgrade is an awesome route to have a good jump in power while spooling a little better than those stock turbos.
It'll be interesting to see the fix and modding progression on this car alongside the DSMs.

Just something to consider on the fuel pressure code. Check the filter because if it’s plugged it causes the pump to work above the desired duty cycle

What a fun episode! Back when there were full service gas stations they would usually turn the pump nozzle upside down when removing to keep from spillage, try it works every time!
As a car enthusiast I can find something to like about almost every car…I have no desire to own a McLaren but it’s nice seeing you discover and enjoy it…I’m sure you will get some great content out of it and improve it before sending it down the road. Personally I’m looking forward to seeing the CTSV Wagon or more Caprice PPV content.

Variety is what makes this channel so great. Can't really name many car restoration channels that fix everything from a Chrysler Conquest to a McLaren. I hope this thing gets bulletproofed and driven :)

I love this channel and look forward to each new video. To me the channel’s concept of buying something broken and making it roadworthy again remains sound regardless if you are working on super car or the cars from the 80s and 90s. I love the repair and cosmetic videos. I’m not as much of a fan of the super car just as I’m not as much of a fan of the Japanese cars, but the concept is the same and I love the repair videos regardless. Still one of my favorite channels. Keep up the awesome content!!
