Chinese portable emulation devices are a pretty deep rabbit hole. As a fan of the vertical form factor this device is definitely tempting but there's a ton of devices out there in all budget and form factors. Stuff like the RG35XX , RGB30 , retroid pocket 2S, RGB20S, and RG405V just to throw some more options out there
Yes, it certainly appears to be a deep hole indeed with a lot to know.
All of those consoles you mentioned are not as powerful except the new 405v maybe the new retroid 2s. why in the hell would you buy and underpowered handheld youll only see its limitations immediately and want something better.
I will definitely consider buying one of these devices when PS2 is a lot more stable, currently I'm happy playing my actual handheld consoles as their libraries are more than packed with high quality games. Even emulation up to 16bit works almost flawlessly and I have the benefit of often much better build quality than what these chinese devices can offer.
I was really hoping this would be the device that could actually handle N64 and PS1.
I'm starting to think that those systems are just not well emulated, no matter what you do.
Really appreciate this review, as I've been tempted to buy one of these on and off for the past year.

N64 Performs really well with the Android OS and sux very bad on the Linux. Watch other reviews because its pretty clear this fool is a Retroarch fanboy.
I got a diffrent OS for it and that works great, as for the sound if the single speaker really bothers you just use a bluetooth device I do

These devices look cool and I was tempted, but I know I would play around with it for a couple of weeks and then it would just sit there.

I would just get bored of it. It's funny, but when I was young, I spent a lot of time and quarters in the arcade, but I've never owned a console.
Stuttering in Zelda and Goldeneye was pretty terrible, to be honest. Which is a shame, because display and chassis seems very nice.
Display is great, the triggers on the back are claustrophobic.
These handhelds aren't even capable enough to run enjoyable PSP or PS2 games at full speed. So why bother? They've seemingly kept pushing out new models like every month yet none can actually be capable enough to run anything above 2D 8 bits games.
I'd like to see them come out with one that can do 3D games properly. No complaints on the 2D experience.
