  • AverageJoeBourbon’s crew does a blind tasting of Weller 12 vs Van Winkle 12 year Lot B. Plenty of action in this one that leaves the two bourbons battling for the top vote!!! Watch and see which bourbon comes out on top!!

Great choice of whiskey, instead just picking one…. Don’t try to guess which is the Lot-B, it cheapens the video. This is the problem with all these “blinds.” I would like to see videos of a pour without knowing what it is and pick one.

Just recently got to try both and agree with you whole heartedly. I'm not near as experienced as you guys at this but these are two of best bourbons I've ever had. To bad I can't afford em.😁

I think you have solid content. I enjoy your videos. If I could be so bold, I would give you a kindly suggestion. I would change the name of your channel (unless you mean it sarcastically). It is clear this channel is for anyone but the “Average Joe”. The channel’s name disconnects with your intended audience. Kind of like if I had a channel called “Average Joe Autos” and I showed my garage full of $100,000 cars and my reviews were regarding such cars.

Again, Nothing wrong showing off an amazing collection and reviewing bottles most won’t have access too. I enjoy seeing your Arsenal, but clearly it isn’t for the “Average Joe / Bourbon Collector”

I get what you are saying and my collection isn’t average I know, but the man I am is Average because I choose to be and want be average. I never want to appear like I’m trying to be “above” someone. AverageJoeBourbon is us reaching out to all the bourbon community of beginners, experts and average drinkers. We are trying to help them in any and all ways to keep and get involved in bourbon, and hope to show that all levels in the community are really all the same. We are trying to encourage everyone in every way to enjoy what you have and maybe after watching some of the videos make a mission to obtain 1 or 2 unicorns to share and enjoy yourself. When we taste bourbons like this we hope that we let them viewers know that maybe they should try to find it at a bar and treat themselves, or know that it’s worth maybe trying to acquire. Some of these expensive secondary bottles aren’t worth it and I want them to know that too. We have a video where we found 3 bourbons under $20 just last Sunday to help guys know that they still can drink good bourbon without sitting in lines and feel good about it. We try to let everyone see top shelf and lower shelves both need to be opened, shared, and enjoyed. I also set up tastings for guys that can’t get the hard to get bourbons so they can have the opportunity to get to try and taste good bourbons without having to mortgage their house. My goal at every tasting with a new bourbon friend is to try and make sure that they get to taste one bourbon they may have never tried, or ever get to try. I also am Average in knowing mashbills, who makes this what, etc... because I just want to be a taster that shares opportunities to others and not be an expert that wants to tell others what they should and should not drink. At the end of the day I want everyone to feel ok with being the Average Joe Bourbon guy themselves and just enjoy the fellowship that the bourbon community creates. I have had to answer this a lot and have actually answered it a few times in a few of my videos. If you ever had the chance to come to my house, and me set a tasting up, you would see how way more average I am, than not. In other words no matter where you are in your bourbon journey, no matter how much allocated bourbons you have, as long as your sharing and enjoying bourbon with others that you do and don’t know in the bourbon community you are an AverageJoeBourbon yourself. It’s my handle but realistically it’s the way I want everyone to treat each other in our community. Encourage each other and don’t discourage because we may like different things. Be happy when a friend gets an allocated bourbon even if you didn’t get it, because if he’s your friend he’ll be like AverageJoeBourbon and makes sure your at the bar when he cracks it. Thank you for feedback. I love discussing bourbons and my videos with everyone. I wish more people took time to do that. I hope you continue to watch us and please don’t hesitate to spark more conversation.
      Thanks
      AJB

Here is to sharing liquid cigars with good people having great conversations. Your channel is a model for that! Brian.
