I’m a 70 year old grandmother & I found myself so touched & in tears while watching the series 1 & 2. Looking forward to series 3. Everyone should watch this!
Same with me. I only started watching it over a week ago and l found it so beautiful and amazing ❤❤. I sm 52 and have watched series 1 and 2 three times in a space of a week.. l am hooked now .. roll on series 3❤❤
Never seen more perfect casting in my life. Joe Locke IS Charlie!! He's sooo perfect. And Kit is just amazing as Nick. They were born for these roles! Their on screen chemistry is insanely good and so glad this series is getting the recognition and praise it deserves! SOO ready for season 2!
The maturity both Joe and Kip express during is amazing. They are two remarkable young men, and so deserving of the accolades they are receiving for this wonderful series.
As a 36 year old happily married mama of 1 I love this show because I want to strive to be like Nick's mom. I don't want to judge my daughter like some parents do, I want to allow her to be herself. And also I love their friend group! I needed a group like that growing up but congrats 🎉 !! xO
if you’re worried about judging your children you already know you an amazing parent. On another note, i’m like 1000% sure every parent who has watched heartstopper wants to be like nicks mom
Yayyyyy!!! Love Victor made me feel the same way, and made me come out to the first person now it’s been 4 years and been out fully for 2 years. Heartstopper makes me be free in my happiness and yea cheesiness, and laughter and enjoy of life.
33 yo bisexual here! I watched this show and had a completle mental breakdown I'm talking panic attack at work. My PTSD kicked in and every feeling I didn't evan know I had surpressed for over 15 years just bursted out of me and I completley lost it. I still haven't picked up the pieces of myself.
I love how they brought up the almost sense of melancholy those of us who are older and didn't grow up with this kind of representation feel. I'm 31 and representation for LGBT when I was growing up just wasn't really a thing, and it does make me sad while also making me happy to see we have it now.
It’s true. I’m a little older than you… I felt this feeling hard in the movie theater a few years back during Moana. What an excellent kid’s film, about a girl with no romantic plot at all, just adventure, identity, responsibility, determination, figuring out her place and calling in her world. I cried because it was sweet and sentimental and I loved it, but also shed some wistful, almost sad tears thinking about not just how badly needed kid’s movies like that were, but how I wished I had that movie when I was a little girl! Representation is so powerful.
Absolutely. This reminded me so much of my child hood in the 80s - the rugby, hiding my sexuality and the problems that can bring internally. A wonderful series that can only do good .
@@Muzzy68 I was born in 91 but it was still much the same for me, too. I feel like if I had had some positive representation like this as I was growing up, I would have come to the realization of who I am earlier in life. I really resonated a lot with Farouk when he said "when you don't figure out you're gay until your late 20s, you tend to miss out on those beautiful gay teenage experiences." I'm glad younger people are growing up with stuff like this now.
im 33 and same with me! i am bisexual and i only realised this when i was 21 and already had my daughter, who btw came out to me as lesbian and had absolutely no problem to tell me so😊 and this is what makes me so happy cause even tho we didnt have these experiences wwhen we were younger we are doing better for the future!
@nattieriri I was in my early 20s, as well, when I started realizing who I was. I have 3 kids. The youngest is still too young for that, but the older 2 came out to us a few years back and are living their lives (mostly) out in the open. I'm so proud they're growing up in a better time than we did. Even if it's still not the best, we're getting there.
Watching the show made me realise so much about myself. I’m pansexual and also none binary. It’s crazy how a show can change your life so much…for the better.
Joe interviews so well and is so relatable to all demographics. What an amazing young person! :) You're going to go places. Beautiful inside and out! :)
It's one of the best series I've ever watched in my life, because it's filled with LOVE. My heart was filled with love as I watched it, and I cried many times, though I'm a 50-year-old man who doesn't cry so easily. And John and Kit are so perfect for their roles! Not only are they excellent actors, they really embody their characters perfectly. I look forward to watching the next instalments (I heard they are working on them) and hope many more series like this one will be made in the near future. We need POSITIVE LGBT stories more than ever.
like millions of others I can relate to Charlie, I was molested from the age of 6 to 10yrs old and didn't know what I was as a teen. I was bullied relentlessly at school and self-harmed. But I never found my Nick and buried my sexuality. I ended up meeting and marrying my wife and we clicked because she too was molested as a child. We have 7 children and 9 grandchildren. I have never been with a man only when I was molested but have over the years wondered what life may have been like had Nick came along. I wouldn't change my life for anything. I felt sorry for Charlie and its good he got Nick.
I have a million of thoughts in my head about this show, but in a few words, my heart beats really fast every time I rewatch the show…thank you to Kit and Joe, Alice and Netflix for all these 🥹🥹
Definitely tells something when an lgbtq show like Heartstopper can get into top10 most watched shows in countries where even gay relationships are yet to be decriminalized. Don't usually cry on shows/movies, but Heartstopper (and Young Royals) made me giggle and cry so much.
