The guitarist is called Slash. It's argued he's one of the top guitarists ever. Axel Rose is the lead singer, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. They rocked the 80's no error.

GnR is one if fav all time bands. I love Slash. But come on. Go watch Eddie Van Halen's "Eruption" solo and Slash can't hold Eddie jock in comparison. And Eddie is one of many like Hendrix, Page, Clapton, etc. Not saying Slash isn't great, just a giant leap behind some others. :)
The "where do we go now" part was meant to be filler until they could write some lyrics. They literally didn't know how to end the song, but it worked, so they kept it in.
Cool story. Other than the opening riff, that where do we go repeating over and over is icing on the cake. I'm glad they kept it in. That is so much part of the track that I can't even imagine it not being there. Too bad those guys didn't stay together back in the days. SMH yo, peace to you and yours bro

That guitar solo rocks way harder than it has any business doing on a song like this
It's been said that Guns N' Roses took over rock music without even really trying, and this song might have been the biggest reason why. And the craziest thing is that the song was originally an afterthought. The opening riff was originally a warmup, while the final "Where do we go now?" lyric was Axl literally asking what the next lyric was supposed to be.
Izzy, the dude doing the windmill arm on the guitar, was their secret weapon. He co-wrote so many of their songs and was cool AF
The band sadly went so down hill when Izzy left modern day gnr still rock but Izzy will always be missed

True story: when they went to the studio to record the track, there was a drink machine with beer in it instead of soft drinks. Guess what happened next. And Axl wrote the lyrics about a girl he was seeing at the time - Erin Everly, daughter of Phil Everly of the Everly Bros. "All I Have To Do Is Dream" for one.
Off the top of my head, the 2 movies that I KNOW this song was in were 'The Wrestler' and 'Big Daddy'
I saw GnR (Guns N Roses) in 1993 on their Use Your Illusion tour in Chapel Hill, NC. Was the best rock concert I’ve ever been too.
If you remember Blind Melon, they opened up for GnR. Not long after, the lead singer Shannon Hoon overdosed on drugs and we lost him. Was glad I got to see Blind Melon in concert.

Fun fact: The lead singer is named Axl Rose and their first lead guitarist was Tracii Guns. Hence the name Guns and Roses. Though Tracii Guns was kicked out of the band and replaced with Slash before Guns and Roses became famous. Tracii Guns went on to form the band L.A. Guns, and has played in several other bands too.

Every girl had a crush on Axl Rose and Jon Bon Jovi back in the 80s. I remember my bedroom wall was covered in rock posters, a good 1/3 of them were of Guns 'N Roses (though i think i leaned a bit more towards Bon Jovi).

The guitarist, Slash, has a solo career and is touring next year. The band Plush will be one of the opening bands on tour with him. Plush is an all girl band that are all under the age of 21. The base player was the session bassist on Slash's new album. The lead singer was on the Voice and sounds a lot like Ann Wilson of Heart. The drummer is an awesome UA-camr that has been covering songs since she was 12. The guitarist is awesome. Plush's first album will be out this month I believe. You have to check them out! I am going to see Slash and Plush next year in Boston! 😁

Check them out live you got to do it Paradise City and Knocking on heaven's door back to back from the Freddie Mercury tribute concert in 1992 then you'll see what they're all about. Lot of people can do it in studio that don't mean s*** check them out live. And they're doing a tribute to Queen which I know you love so it's a can't miss
Guns N Roses can arguably be considered the Led Zepplin of the 90’s.
The only movie I know where "Sweet Child O' Mine" was used, is Big Daddy with Adam Sandler. Thing is though, it was sung by Sheryl Crow and not GN'R. 🤘🤘🤘

Late to THIS party, and I'm sure someone has mentioned it already in the comments but I'm too lazy to look...Honesty is important lol....Anyway, the "Where do we go" outro of the song has an interesting story, and the bandmates themselves have told. They had the MUSIC for that part of the song, but weren't sure where to GO with it lyrically...Yanno, "Well shit guys, the lyrics kick ass til the end part, but WHERE DO WE GO NOW", so, while rehearsing he just sang "where do we go now" and it stuck.

Please do Paradise City(official Video) next, as it is my personal favorite G n R tune, but you can't go wrong with most things from this band. Their debut album "Appetite for Destruction" is the best selling debut of all time, so that should tell you a little something about this band.
