Tip for the Lake of Rot: equip the Beast Repelling torch and the Basilisks will no longer be a threat.
Yes! The lake of rot is so easy to traverse and totally harmless with the correct setup. Beast Repelling Torch in one hand and a seal in the other with Flame Cleanse me at the ready. Equip the crimson seed and blessed dew talismans for passive regen and better flask healing. Allocate more health flasks if needed. With this setup you can easily collect every rune, smoothing stone, and crafting items without worry. Just fast travel back to the shore when you need a refresh.

Calid dragon farm: Grab Poison mist ash of war in south Limgrave. The Elder Dragon takes 10 bleed proc’s to die. On the very last 9th proc, cast poison mist on him and then you can easily make it back to the grace without fumbling torrent. I’ve accidentally jumped off the horse turning around a bunch of times and been too late to cancel the death animation.
It throws me off that some people don't always use Mohg's shackle or Margit's shackle to reveal all of the hidden paths (and activate all of the fire/frost towers) nearby.

Activate the item, you hit the ground with it and it opens all of the secret doors in a radius to you.
I'm not certain what the radius is, but I know it's large enough to usually only activate once per dungeon.

I've been doing it since my 1st playthrough and it's just part of the game for me to the point I forget other ppl don't know it reveals illusory walls and more importantly imo it activates flame and frost towers so you don't have to throw stuff at them. It always throws me off when I see a content creator throwing knives at the towers.
But maybe it's a choice? Ppl prefer to do things the harder way maybe. Idk
about the monk ashes: Amon is just the better fire monk, no reason to use the regular one. But something clever to know about that catacomb: You can use the traps to kill the watchdogs, lure them to the corridors with the ice sprayer and run away, the watchdog will take a long time to leave the corridor and be damaged by the trap.
Also you can use mohg's shackle to activate the traps remotely

I mostly agree but if I could give a piece of constructive criticism, in the later areas in the things you missed series Dom seems to have grown tired of making them. He doesn’t show locations on the map which is a bit of a problem in say the consecrated snowfields. I love what he does just wish the last few areas had the care that the others got.

Dont forget with those fire/ice pillar traps that you can trigger them with either the margit/mohg shackle from a safe distance! Also works for detecting illusory walls!
A surprising number of people still don't know that Y --> X --> A in the map screen takes you to Roundtable Hold (Triangle --> Square --> X on Playstation)

The means by which to get to that Deeproot Depths entrance is a spiritual callback to the original Dark Souls, where that's how you found your way into the Great Hollow from Blighttown, which is thematically a similar location; that's also the means by which you'd get to Ash Lake.

Never heard about the lesser rot, its actualy realy interesting because running and cleasing all the time is kinda anoying, while you could use a regen spell, regen talisman, regen flask, stuff like that, that would better counteract the dot and for a longer time.
As we are in a secret reveal video, when you talk about the fire ash monk, overall theres is a way to make dungeon with fire pillar way easier.
Use a mogh or margit shackle and it will trigger the pillars from like VEEEEEEERY far, you can make the chariot collide like that in the ancient hero tomb i beliece is the name.
It also work to open hidden walls
First time I found it, I fell from above somewhere and landed where that Rune Arc is. Thought I was stuck for a second haha.
It's my favorite game ever. I enjoy creating new characters and running through the entire story and end game over and over.
NG+ also disables some of the pillar traps in catacombs

Went into this thinking the secrets would suck and I'm pretty sure the first 4 in a row weren't just news to me, but are things that will be immediately relevant to my next play session cause i literally just discovered the rot lake for the first time this morning. 😂
If you're using the flail to kill Greyoll, use Spinning Chain, it's much faster. it will still spin and apply bleed.even if your FP runs out.

About the one of the map ( i already knew it), reminds me of my first playthrough where everytime i went underground i had to go to the overworld to fast travel 😂, glad i wasn't the only one who did this
Running through rot also works if you get summoned to someone elses ng+ and you are not on ng
if you use Poison Mist on Greyl as well as bleed you get constant damage ticks and bigger bleed chunks.
I'm so glad you're back to ER content. The secret I've used most is using the shackles (mohg or Morgott) to dispel all secret doors and move all flame/ice spitting columns in an area.
I tried using the Spiritspring jump to get down to the Redmane painting location several times. I kept hitting an invisible wall that would stop my forward momentum. This was less than two weeks ago.
I eventually just got practiced at using the roots and pillars to get down there to grab the Rune Arc and the Ash of War painting reward. Didn’t manage to down the Lazed Golem though. Tough SoB that one…

i accidently killed greyoll after wrinching 80+ levels so i am thrilled to use virgin abductor chainsaw on NG+ on her.
After playing for 2 years, realized the map actually shows all the giants littered around at the mountaintops of the giants. Love this game
I was looking at the video, all proud and nodding in a "yep, found that alllll on my own" way, and then you just had to show that stupid little rune arc room I NEVER EVEN KNEW WAS THERE!
Ive never played souls like games before elden ring and I’m still on my first play through since I’m still stuck at the radagon/elden beast boss fight which I’ve been trying for over 20 hours 😅😅

I didn't notice the map while @ grace access til I was 220 hours in lol 🤙🏻 also, lost 200k+ runes being too brave on the mogh platforming section and gave up, might give it another shot ty for sharing grace. accidentally found the fire monk ashes while searching for the glovewort pickers bell bearing (2) in preparation for NG+ and good Lord are those burial watchdogs tough! like bro. i know u have a job and all but i literally just killed the god of this realm, how are you spanking me so bad

Just didn't know the map one, though in that case I usually just jump to were I'm going before leveling
the room behind the hidden wall is easily seen from the roof tops.. thats how i found it out in my first playthrough..

8:38 why wouldnt you just teleport to the grace you want to go next and level up there? Youre going unnecessary to the nearest site of grace to level up.
The rot run I’m not 100% convinced, I, on a 1st run tested it at the pool before the drainage were Melicent is (to help or invade ) and AFTER killing the rotting tree, I was able to walk through it…….maybe behind killing something??
Giant's Mountaintop Catacombs watchdogs can be killed pretty easily by the frost pillars
Imp head long tongue was a brutal farm
About Fromsoft being 'nice', I'm still surprised they gave us a map for ER.
Wait... what's a rune arc?
They are a consumable item you can find or buy, and using them activates the effects of whatever great run you currently have equipped.
So godrics great rune or whatever, when you equip that it actually does nothing for you until you use one of these rune arcs. But be wary how often you use them - their presence is finite, the effect goes away when you die and they aren't always easy to get so if you're using one every time you die and respawn you can run out of them very quickly
I have OCD and over 15 characters...so literally nothing in this video has surprised me.

Fire Monk Ashes? Mehhh, generally has low dps. But the only time I use him is against those pesky Erdtree avatars, who are massively weak to fire.
Yo Dom , the frenzied flame area platform section.. that'll be the THREE fingers (in audio and chapter text) not Two. Definitely gotten rusty haha . BINGO!
Missed that illusory wall in the academy through two playthroughs, then on my third time through I noticed the courtyard from the roof and had to deduce approximately where it was, run around looking for a possible survivable drop into there, then finally rolled into every wall on that side of that room until I found it.
Something I missed on my first play through the Tree Sentinel Armour in Auriza Heros Grave. Pretty cool armour.
And I also thought the invisible path in the snow fields area to get to tower to get the Founding Rain of Stars was really cool too.
Both can be easily missed.

You don’t have to sneak into Stormveil Castle. Gostoc can open the Main gate for you. Quite useful at NG+.

Crystal Darts turn Imps and Watchdogs against other Imps/Watchdogs. Also stuns them for a few seconds.

Try rolling while you're in the rot and leaving when you're near your rot proc.
