Very nice! I was never a fan of that generation Cougar and Thunderbird, but it looks great as a convertible! I've always been a Cougar/Thunderbird fan. Currently have '68 and '95 Cougars and love them.
@@kenrutherford1109 We all have our own preferences. When they introduced the 1983 Thunderbird, I defected to Pontiac for Trans Ams. When they introduced the 1989 Thunderbird, I waited for the V-8 in 1991 and returned to Ford.
I love that interior and the sound of the Ford door chime. I had a friend that owned an 88 and let me drive it from time to time. So smooth and comfortable
I love that car!! I am a huge Mercury fan, especially the Fox platform Capris and Cougars. Love the body lines of that Cougar convertible. Beautiful car in a beautiful color!
Did you know in Mexico a conversion company made some 4 door Thunderbirds for the 1986 and 1987 model years? They were sold through the Ford dealers. I saw the factory ad for it at one time, but I can't find it at the moment.
Did you restore your headlight set or ?? My '87's are ROUGH! Have to run on bright and light still doesn't reach three feet out. Can't even see the ground in the city with all the stupid ultra bright LED billboards and other automakers childish competition to see who can have the most and brightest collection of lights on their front end. 😡😡
What a gem 💎

IMO the 87 and 88 Thunderbirds aren't as beautiful as the 83-86 models

When you showed the interior, the armor all smell of my 87 Mustang popped into my nose. This thing is clean for its age.
That was such a distinctive smell all right. I know what you mean.
My mom bought a special cousin to that car in 1984. A Fila Thundebird with the 5.0 H.O. Such a great platform. I can see why you like them so much.
Those Fila Thunderbirds were so unique and likable. Your mom had great taste in cars.

Thank you for the kind words. Check out my other videos, including the Fleet Check videos. I have quite a few Fox Capris.
I'm one of the rare ones who also thought Mercury did the styling better than Ford with their Capri and Cougar.
@@unlovedautos If you ever wanted a factory Fox Body Capri Coupe to add to your collection, let me know.
@@mexicanspecI have several already but would always welcome another nice one.
@@mexicanspecOh wait, do you mean the Mexican version? I would LOVE to have one.

Holy cow, I had no idea. I would love to see one of those.
I want to see it with the top up
BEAUTIFUL, rare, great condition; what a catch !!
Thats cool
Nice 😊
Ford should have sold these as convertibles. It looks great without a top!
I've never seen a 1987 Cougar convertible
That’s what he said - with only 24 made, you’ll probably never see another one
Beautiful car.....I would not have imagined it to be so good looking. What other Cougars are in your collection? I'm a LSCC member from N Texas.
I also have a ‘69, ‘73, two ‘74s, ‘75, ‘77 wagon, ‘78, ‘82 wagon and a ‘90.
In my Fleet Check videos, all of my other Cougars can be seen.
At what time I owned a 1986 cougar 5.0. and a 1981 cougar inline 6 cylinder coupe
I just seen this in 2024
As long as you don’t jab yourself in the neck with the top of the doorpost - too bad they left it like that
Very true!
