That would be THE ONLY one in the US ! Being from NZ, I recognised the number plate instantly. I've had a handful of Aussie Falcon's, but my 2001 XR8 with the Tickford Hand Built 5.0L Windsor is the most special. These last pushrod engines took the builder a whole day per engine, and made 295hp, 55hp more than the '94 Mustang Cobra. Came with Gt40p heads with bigger intake/exhaust valves 70mm throttle body, roller rockers, mild port matching, unique camshaft and headers as standard. Every engine was hot run tested, and has a plaque on the rocker cover saying HAND BUILT WITH PRIDE, and the builders signature etched in !!

In the 1964 James Bond movie, "Goldfinger," the villain's Korean henchman, Odd Job, used a Ranchero to recover the crushed cube of a Lincoln Continental. Although not the biggest stretch of imagination in the film, the viewer was led to believe that a 4,927 pound car, containing an unfortunate, 200 pound American gangster, could be easily transported in the Ranchero with no visual suspension strain. The third movie of the series also featured more of Ford's 1964 lineup, including a Country Squire (woody) station wagon, a T-Bird and the recently introduced Mustang. While the Aston-Martin DB5 stole the show, the film also introduced the new Piper Cherokee line of aircraft and spotlighted an emerging business jet fascination with a Lockheed Jetstar.

@@ronschlorff7089 My aunt had a '55 Ford station wagon. I remember the folding rear seats and the tailgate. Then she got a '57 Ford wagon with the bigger taillights and speedometer. A '60 Dodge wagon followed and the tailgate window rolled down rather than lifted up. Her next two cars, following her divorce, were a '62 Pontiac Catalina convertible and a '66 Pontiac GTO. I'm thinking maybe the wagons weren't all her ideas.🤔 I was old enough to drive the Pontiacs and may have inadvertently set a single-wheel, tire-fire record with the GTO.🤫

I would think a more comfortable daily driver then a Mustang. I was kind of shocked to learn how in the toilet Mustang sales are. I think Stellantis pulled the plug on the Challenger at just the right time. Time will tell if the new Charger can produce some good sales figures. From what I understand the Hurricane 6 is pretty potent and should have no problem keeping up with the V-8 Mustangs, Pretty sure they will also bring out a Challenger replacement on a smaller chassis them the Charger and that will be the real Mustang Competitor.

the last of the "V8 Interceptors" is based on the XA to XC Series (so 1971 to 1979) Falcon sedan. Here is the issue though, the one everyone remembers and wants is actually a "Super Pursuit" black XB Coupe with the "Concord" front end design treatment is not an "Interceptor" which was the regular Falcon 4 door sedan, moving along. What you have (Falcon ute) is basically a "XD" chassis (1979) with "XF" body (1987) (save for the quad headlight treatment) with an "ED" engine (1993) with the quad headlight treatment which also came from the same era "ED Falcon XR8 Sprint" sedan which was also a Tickford* enhanced vehicle. *Tickford during this time was a 51% owned by Ford Australia 49% owned by TVE United Kingdom (Tickford Vehicle Engineering) company that Ford Australia contracted to make "enhanced" Ford Australia cars like Falcon, Capri, Laser and Telstar (not sure if the USA ever got Mazda 626 from 1980's 1990's era), the Australian made cars rolled off the production line in Campbellfield Victoria and then went across the road to Tickford were they were enhanced. Engine wise Tickford did: head, extractors, cam upgrade, different engine and fuel map , extra cooling for radiator, transmission, enhanced the steering and suspension and of course the exterior and interior, they also made the XR8 version where the 8 was for V8 as in a Windsor 4.9L (302ci) enhanced fuel injected V8 which was also used in various North American Mustang but heavily revised for right hand drive and fit into the Falcon engine bay, yours being an automatic its a 4-speed electronic (2 drive modes: Power and Economy) control BTR (re: Borg Warner) torque converter made in Australia. Power and torque (in metric) for this particular engine is 161kW at 5,500rpm and 364Nm from 3,000 rpm to 4,000rpm (yes it has a flat torque curve), its a simple 12-valve (so 2 valves per cyl) alloy head with SINGLE OHC on an iron block 4.0L displacement with Multipoint (batch fired) EFI. This example being a New Zealand specification does not have to comply with the ADR (Australia Design Rules) so there are minor variance differences like steering wheel and number plate holders. Anyway nice video, please try to keep the ol Falcon in decent condition and if you want more history about these cars just ask.
