I'm scared to death to Google anything about chickens. I have a little girl that have laid an egg in 2 weeks. I was too scared to look it up but I finally did yesterday and I really wish I hadn't.
@@WelcometoChickenlandia she isn't acting sick at all. She is the lowest one on the pecking order from what I can tell. I'm quite worried. She doesn't appear to have lice or mites that I can tell. I always check on them at night and I've noticed that she has been kicked off of the roost by the others. We are going to put in a higher roost so maybe having 2 instead of just the one will help with that. I hate to think of her as stressed and not being able to lay eggs but I think that is better than alternative reasons.
I wouldn't worry about it just yet. It might be the weather or something else that changed, OR she might be hiding eggs somewhere. If she starts to seem sick, then you can look further into it.
I believe mine are under a lot of heat stress...whenever i let them out of the coup they immediatly run and stay under the bushes for the whole day...it been hot with no rain for a month now in Botswana..Africa.

From what I understand tea tree isn't safe for animals. However I totally agree on the use of homeopathy. I grow herbs and use essential oils as well. Very informative video. Thank you.
Thank you! I’m so glad it helped. Tea Tree can be toxic if ingested or put on an animal without it being very diluted. Honestly, even humans should not be using it undiluted and should definitely never ingest it. ❤️
I’ll answer this in my next live! Basically, it’s when the crop cannot empty the food into the next digestive process. Chickens can get very ill and even die from it if it’s not handled. There’s some things you can do at home but it’s one of those conditions that could need veterinarian care.
Yeah, a couple of our 3 month old chickens started giving little sneezes this morning....and looking up "sneezing chicken" or "coughing chicken" certainly does paint bleak picture. Definitely gonna try some homeopathic remedies and good old nutrition before relying on meds, as they don't seem lethargic, mouths aren't remaining open, or really raspy with their breathing and chirping.
Hey! Thanks for posting this... I've got some little chicks who are about a month and a half or two months old and all 3 have started sneezing! I realized their coop is a little smelly (sorry buds) so hopefully they get over it after I clean it tomorrow. I love the tea that you mentioned for boosting their immune system, but I live in Turkey and you'd be shocked at the stuff we don't get here :( (for example, I went to 5 supermarkets and a spice shop today and no one had any nutmeg >_>). What would you suggest for some super basic immune boosting ingredients? Thanks!!
Oregano is a really good one. You can steep it and make a tea and give it to them. If you can find fresh herbs, hanging some in their area would be good. Oregano, yarrow, mint, and thyme are good ones. Echinacea as well!
Thanks for this video. I have 3 chickens, but 1 has been sneezing for weeks. She also has her mouth open a lot more than not. It doesn't look or sound like she's gasping for air thank God, however I'd still like to get her the right supplements. I heard the VetRX product is pretty good, any thoughts on that? Also, you mentioned vitamins, electrolytes and probiotics, do you have a supplement you can recommend with all 3 of those included? Thanks so much for your help and videos, I love them!!!
I have 12 chickens. One of them started sneezing and began to start cofing. We found out that all the chickens that caught it were intact really old. We gave the sick ones away to others who could treat it but kept the one who started it his name was chicken. A few days later chicken died so in my opinion you really really need to take them to a vet.
Aww I’m so sorry you lost chicken. Veterinary care is so important. Unfortunately, chicken vets are hard to come by in many areas of the country. Certainly, this video is not meant to take the place of proper veterinary diagnosis. Sometimes, illnesses are very serious and need professional attention. 🐔❤️
At what level of sneezing should I be worried? My chickens sometimes will sneeze once or twice when I am out there and sometimes never sneeze. Is sneezing normal and only abnormal when it is very frequent? I am very worried for my flock and am not sure if I should be. I would really appreciate your advice and guidance!
It can be totally normal and if it’s just occasionally and they are acting normal, I wouldn’t worry about it. People sneeze sometimes and it doesn’t always mean we are sick. ❤️🐔❤️
I found this video informative, but I didn’t care for the fake sneezing sounds. I was hoping to see what it sounds like since I’m not entirely sure my hen is sneezing since it is so subtle.
I wasn’t able to get actual hens sneezing because I didn’t have any sick chickens. There is a good video of a chicken sneezing on UA-cam. Just searching “chicken sneezing”.
Right pleeeeeasse. help you might not be able to help but my cockerel (Serama) is making a sound like this: he ho he ho really high pitched and hes really pale do you know anything to help????
Hi there. I’m sorry he’s sick! I would follow all the things I talk about in the video and hope for the best. If he’s very ill it’s possible he need veterinary care. ❤️
Hi, I have a duckling, I don’t know if it’s the same deal with both but, my duckling about two weeks old is sneezing water, is it because he breathed in water from his pool?
My chickens are fine walking right, eating and moving, it’s just that sometimes they sneeze, they are currently in a trailer that I had to make so they would be warm for the winter and they have been coupes up in their for a couple of days, they don’t look sick, so is it due to the weather they are sneezing or is it that the dust in the coop is causing them to sneeze sometimes
oml I was freaking out because I got 5 new chickens to my flock and NOT GONNA LIE i picked a fav and she started sneezing and online was technically "YOUR CHICKEN IS GONNA DIE" so glad i didnt panic and watched this video first
One of our hens has been sneezing since we got her - and that’s almost two years ago! She’s about 2.5 years old, lays healthy, beautiful eggs, her comb is bright pink... and the rest of the flick is fine. Do hens ever sneeze just because it’s a tic or an allergy? I don’t see any signs of respiratory illness.
Hi I have three 3 week old chicks at home but one recently started sneezing a lot as well as what looks like falling asleep in place and just sleeping a lot more overall meanwhile the other two are perfectly fine and very active. Sometimes while the others are eating the sleepy chick will suddenly wake up and walk around with them for a bit but quickly goes back to looking sleepy and lethargic. I’m worried he might stop eating soon is there anything you recommend or should I try the REST method first and see if that helps?
Oh no. It certainly does sound like they are sick. Unfortunately, I cannot offer a proper diagnosis as I am not a veterinarian. The first thing you should do is make sure your brooder is clean. Brooder pneumonia can happen when there is too much ammonia build up. You can certainly try the REST method as supportive care but your best course of action would be to seek a veterinarian's advice.
Can you try this with 2 week old chicks? 4 chicks, one is lethargic, sneezing, and looks like she’s struggling for breath (moving her head slowing up and down).
Unfortunately, your chick sounds pretty sick. :( The supportive care in this video are mainly for adult chickens, although separating her and putting some vitamins and electrolytes in her water would be a good idea. Make extra sure the brooder where she is living is clean and there is no ammonia smell because that can give them something called brooder pneumonia. Your best course of action would be to consult a veterinarian, I’m afraid. ❤️
Great sickness action plan acronym .......REST......not only for chickens or pets but ...good enough for HUMANS ! So when we get poorly , we remove ourselves from work or groups of people ( isolate ), start taking medication ( electronites, vitamins etc) , eat scrambled eggs or soft foods , and make sure we are kept warm or cool off (temperature control with hot water bottle, blankets or ice packs ). 😄😄😄💚💚💚💚 Remember the old saying " coughs and sneezes spreads diseases " ? .....would love them posters back for today's viruses. Get well soon to all you poorly birdies, animals and people. 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
my chickens started sneezing and i thought it was just the wind, then the blood in the stool came an i was already at the shop getting advice. I will get two of them inside after tomorrow if they dont get better cause its their last day on antibiotics
I'm not a huge fan of sand in the coop or run but I know a lot of people like it. My concern about it being in the coop is that it would be cold in the winter and also difficult to do a full clean-out. I prefer shavings or straw. :-)
I have a baby chicken who’s about 2 weeks old and he would sneeze occasionally and sometimes non stop I would check his nose if a food got stuck or he inhaled something but there’s nothing.
Welcome to Chickenlandia no I don’t think so because he’s very active and he eats and poops a lot but there’s no blood on his poop so I guess that’s a good sign.
Hey even tho I’m a couple of months late to this video, I’ve recently have been feeding some wild chickens that have grown attached to me and one of them came up to me sneezing so much and when I looked up to see his face he had a whole snot bubble on his nose, and hes sneezing every other bite of food but then goes right back down to eating. I don’t know what they do outside of my yard but I try to make sure I don’t put there food in the grass anymore and I’m going to try the egg hacks. I hope my lil chicken is okay because yesterday he was 100% okay, so I hope he’s just got into something that didn’t agree with him. I also don’t want to try to spend a lot of money on them because they aren’t my chickens, so I hope some of this stuff can work. Thank you so much 😘
How young can you give garlic? I have week old chicks who are very energetic and perky, but I noticed one was sneezing and some of them are making watery poop. They are on medicated chicken feed and from a reputable feed store. They are otherwise healthy/living their best curious perky chick lives. Can I do the garlic for them this young? Thanks!
I currently have 4 baby chicks about 4-5 weeks old. They all are sneezing and they have a clean area and they are eating completely normal but won’t stop sneezing and closing their eyes sometimes. Any advice? Just not sure what to do since they are babies:)
Good Morning from the Central East Coast of Florida. I followed your respiratory illness suggestions and within days my 3 Jersey Giants are much, much better. I still have one coughing. How long after symptoms disappear can I add then back to the flock?
I would start the reintegration process as soon as they are feeling better. The longer they are from the flock, the harder it is to get them back in without too much stress. ❤️
@@WelcometoChickenlandia Thank you! It has been a week since they became ill. I still have one coughing so she will stay in the infirmary. I am still applying VetRx and ginving the homeopathics as of this morning.
I still have 1 still coughing and not eating or drinking very much. This has been going on for 2 weeks. I've offered her scrambled eggs, oats, oatmeal, fruit, sugar water. She eats maybe 2 bites. She has a blister-like bubble on the end of her comb. She's losing feathers and I can tell she's lost weight. She is still walking around normal and not showing any other signs of distress. She's not any worse, but not any better either. I want her to turn the corner. What do I need to do to make this girl well so she can go back to the flock?
My 4 silkies especially one sneez a lot. But only when she is in action. When she is resting no sneezing. They had already Antibiotics but still sneezing. They have no dripping noses etc. They eat good. Drink good. I give them now multi vitamines for chickens and a little appelcider vinegar in their water. Aslong they are not look sick I don’t gonna give them antibiotics anymore.
My chicken always sneezes it’s winter tho and she’s acting normal eating drinking and eggs r fine and she looks fine so idk what to do please help is there something bad happening? And I only have 2 chickens and 2 roosters
My chicken is sneezing, iv done the trick with the eculptous oil on tissue up in the pen, how often do u give garlic, is there anything I can give my hen? I have stress liquid too.
If they are sick I would give them the garlic daily but make sure they are eating and drinking and stop if it turns them off from water or food. You can give the garlic to your whole flock for an immune boost!
Are aspen shavings bad for baby chicks ? Seems a bit dusty and I have 1 chick that keeps sneezing do you have any recommendations for bedding that’s safe or is this something more serious it’s been about 3 days of wet sneezing seem healthy besides that
My chicken has been sneezing for about 6 days. I have tried vetrx, steam, etc. How long does it take to recover? I clean the coop out everyday, should I add ACV? Should I allow her to stay in doors because it's snowing here.
What is the difference between a CHICK snot and a chick sneeze, one of my chicks on my hand seems like its sneezing.. water seems to splash of its beak into my hands. And its doing it continuously right now for quite a time.. its my first time with chicks, should i be weird? As i comment this i think it got alright, is it just due to dust or was it sneezing?
I love all this advice you give us, absolutely wonderful. But I'm a little creeped out about feeding my chicken scrambled eggs. That makes me think of cannibalism. Also, someone told me a long time ago that if chickens break an egg in the nesting box then you should remove it asap because if they eat it they will break more eggs. is this true?

I'm scared to death to Google anything about chickens. I have a little girl that have laid an egg in 2 weeks. I was too scared to look it up but I finally did yesterday and I really wish I hadn't.
OH no! Is she acting sick? Have you looked to see if she is maybe hiding eggs somewhere?
@@WelcometoChickenlandia she isn't acting sick at all. She is the lowest one on the pecking order from what I can tell. I'm quite worried. She doesn't appear to have lice or mites that I can tell. I always check on them at night and I've noticed that she has been kicked off of the roost by the others. We are going to put in a higher roost so maybe having 2 instead of just the one will help with that. I hate to think of her as stressed and not being able to lay eggs but I think that is better than alternative reasons.
@@tastycar not laying in winter is also a big thing with certain breeds
@@davesbackyardchickensandou3905 I was hoping that. She is an olive egger and she has never been one of the more regular layers.
My chick started sneezing when we got her. We isolated her but later brought her back to the flock, but it seems it has spread throughout the rest of the flock. I have use antibiotics in their water, garlic, lime and even apple cider vinegar but the sneezing won’t just stop and we are scared that they might deteriorate and die which is any chicken farmer’s worst nightmare. So what can we do to improve their healthy? I should also say that they eat well as well
We have one chicken who is sneezing. His name is roosty roo and he is my daughters favourite.
Won't he be lonely inside by himself away from everyone?
Lol all the sneezing sounds! 😂😂😂 Thanks for the tips of using essential oils! I use them for myself but never thought of trying it with our chickens!
They are great if used mindfully!
What is impacted crop and how do you fix it and prevent it??????? Thank you Miss President
I’ll answer this in my next live! Basically, it’s when the crop cannot empty the food into the next digestive process. Chickens can get very ill and even die from it if it’s not handled. There’s some things you can do at home but it’s one of those conditions that could need veterinarian care.
@@WelcometoChickenlandia OH SH**T
Yeah, a couple of our 3 month old chickens started giving little sneezes this morning....and looking up "sneezing chicken" or "coughing chicken" certainly does paint bleak picture. Definitely gonna try some homeopathic remedies and good old nutrition before relying on meds, as they don't seem lethargic, mouths aren't remaining open, or really raspy with their breathing and chirping.
Oh I’m glad it’s not serious and I hope it stays that way! Keep me updated. 🐔
This information is great.. but the music is too loud
Let’s just take a second to appreciate her chicken kettle. Amazon here I come...

Curious as well
I have 12 chickens.
Thank you so much for the love and support hope their all happy and healthy now x
@@theincrediblecarrennedys1287 OH yay!! That's really good news.
Yes, I’m in the Irish countryside, bringing a chicken to the vet would be considered very strange indeed.
@@WelcometoChickenlandia Ive watched the video and I was going to clean them out because the were a bit overdue but he died today.😢
Hi, I have a duckling, I don’t know if it’s the same deal with both but, my duckling about two weeks old is sneezing water, is it because he breathed in water from his pool?
How is your duckling doing now? If it seems normal and healthy and it's happening while playing in water, I wouldn't worry about it.
Mera ak chick Hai usko bohat cheenkay arahi Hai please tell
Sometimes they just have little quirks! I'm so glad she's healthy and happy. :-)
Welcome to Chickenlandia thanks for the reply!
Thank you. Ver helpful x
So glad!
My chickens are sneezing like 1-2 times when I’m around but I don’t see any other symptoms. Do I need to worry?
😄😄😄💚💚💚💚
Remember the old saying " coughs and sneezes spreads diseases " ? .....would love them posters back for today's viruses.
Get well soon to all you poorly birdies, animals and people.

Hi there! Thank you so much for this video! May I ask, what you use to cook the scrambled egg with, butter or olive oil? Or do you just do it dry?
In usually use either olive oil or ghee (clarified butter). :)
Welcome to Chickenlandia Thank you so kindly for your reply! I am making some now for my sneezing chick.
my chickens started sneezing and i thought it was just the wind, then the blood in the stool came an i was already at the shop getting advice. I will get two of them inside after tomorrow if they dont get better cause its their last day on antibiotics

Is sand the best thing to put in a coop
I'm not a huge fan of sand in the coop or run but I know a lot of people like it. My concern about it being in the coop is that it would be cold in the winter and also difficult to do a full clean-out. I prefer shavings or straw. :-)
I have a baby chicken who’s about 2 weeks old and he would sneeze occasionally and sometimes non stop I would check his nose if a food got stuck or he inhaled something but there’s nothing.
Does it seem sick otherwise? Sometimes they will shake their heads a lot but it doesn't really mean they are sick.
Welcome to Chickenlandia no I don’t think so because he’s very active and he eats and poops a lot but there’s no blood on his poop so I guess that’s a good sign.
You're so sweet! Subbed!

Thank you so much 😘
I hope it helps! ❤️🐔❤️ Wild chickens are super resilient.
I think mam it better if you sell videos for each diseases, i will support you on that. Thanks.

Thanks!
You can totally give garlic now! I would do a quarter of a clove, chopped in half, per quart of their water. :-)
I have a chick that's sneezing. I only have one because its a rescue, and I'm caring for it for a few days. Could it be from the dust in the dirt?
Possibly? If it’s too dusty you may want to clean their area out and see if that helps. Thank you for rescuing her! ❤️🐥❤️

Chickens don’t know that scrambled eggs are eggs. It’s common to feed scrambled eggs to chickens.
How long do you usually isolate for
