Finally, I found the type of microwave(or something close to it) I have. There are so many different types of microwave and different ways of changing bulbs.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. 🙏🏼 I’ve been searching everywhere for instructions on how to replace the lightbulb in my microwave, although it was not the same brand as yours I anticipate it is going to be pretty much the same instructions as there is no access panel on the inside for the lightbulb. This video was a great resource, 😊 but if I had had one wish it would be to have a more close view of everything you were doing but I completely understand how difficult that may be at times I am grateful and appreciative of the information you shared in the time you took to upload this thank you so very much!
Hi April, Glad you found the video useful. Good feedback - I will definitely incorporate this into my future videos. Thanks for watching, and remember to subscribe.
Thank you! I'd replaced an electric stove oven light bulb before, but was hesitant to take apart the microwave to change its bulb. Now will go ahead fully confident I won't wreck something!
Thank you, for the quick turn around on the answer. I tried getting the bugger open but it seems I need a torn with the anti tamper hole in center of bit. I'll see if I can snap the pin off with a needle nose plier. Thank you, Sir. Steve, Plymouth, MA USA
This was a helpful video, but he should have provided some advice about how to get that bloody Panasonic cover back on. The first time I opened up the microwave to check the bulb, I never did get the cover back on correctly.
ATTENTION : you can see the bulb.. BUT before you remove it, look which wires go where..the writing on the bulb faces forward, and the yellow wire is on the left, red and brown on the right...just pull the plastic casing away from the terminals.. If you are at all worried..get a professional, but it is easy if you're confident...take care, after all, it's a microwave!
Hi @antonbothma242 if you meant bulb, just plug your microwave model number into ebay and you will find one. That worked great for me. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video. Our Panasonic 1250W light on the right is on. Though it looks to be a half lit filament. Do you know if there is a setting for light or is there a second bulb blown? Thank you.
Hi Mate, there definately is not a second bulb (well certainly not in my microwave or any that I have come accross before). I also do not think there are any light settings in Microwaves, they are usually either on or off, as simple as that. I would guess your problem is that the bulb could be a bit dodgy. For the cost of a new bulb (about $5 max) I would pull it out and put a new one in and see if that sorts it out. Thanks for watching.
Question: Does anyone know if the connectors for the bulb are straight or at a 90 degree angle. I haven't opened the case so I really am not certain. The way that the How to Man is holding the old and new bulbs doesn't allow for determining that info.
Thanks for the effort, but I am a very mechanically-challenged person. The camera view is too distant for me to make out detail, & your hand impeded my vision of the machine's interior guts.
I used the Howto video to replace the light bulb in my Panasonic microwave. It looked easy but it did not say that the casing is sprung so when I went to put it back on it doesn't fit back correctly!
Thanks for watching mate. I'm not too sure what you mean by sprung, but you are right in that getting the casing back on is the hardest thing. It is a bit trickey, hence from the video you see me messing around for a couple of minutes getting it in the right place. But once you push the panels in the right spot, it does seem to work right. Hope the video helped mate.
I meant that the cover was under tension and when I took it off, it sprung out. It won't go back in. Thanks, anyway. I am taking it to a service place because my bulb is unavailable and they will have to adjust the fitting so the new bulb will fit. Maybe they can fit the cover back on properly. Cheers.
Howto Man thanks. looking for 462 but eventually found it by finding the service manual, cross referencing to part number and googling it. saved a few pennies as espares etc cost a lot for p&p. cheers.
My bulb has worked for over 20 years, turned on my trusty microwave, which I use very often and nothing but darkness, I was truly taken a back, I have been joking for years that it would never run out, anyway shouldn't be that hard to replace hopefully, but I don't know if the new bulb will last another 20 years. It's a wee cookworks microwave I bought from Argos I think, but the thing must have been made very well to last for so long.
That's awesome. You cant beat Argos. I would take the back off and check what bulb is inside it, and hopefully it should be easy to replace. Thanks for watching.
The bulb is really obvious how to plug in, once you get the cover off you will see it is really easy. This video is to show that if some average guy wearing a white shirt can do it in 4 minutes, then anyone can do it. The hardest part about this job is simply deciding that you are going to do it yourself. Once you have got past that bit, you are on your way :-) .Thanks for watching.
Got it open. Forced torx in. Bulb filament was half lit. Flicked with finger and went to full bright then cooked. I'll get another tomorrow. Thank you. Where are you, bud?
Thought I recognized the Aussie in your voice. Have enjoyed many visits there and find everyone seems to DIY! Former Newport RI, USA resident, now living inland and trying to get off the grid!
I cannot see the area in the microwave you are working on. Your camera is way too far away not to mention your hand is blocking the area you are working on. This entire video is useless.
Sounds like it's some kind of loose connection. I would try replacing the bulb to see if that fixes it (the new bulb is not expensive). If that does not fix it, at least you can completely rule the bulb out.
It sounds like your microwave isn't the problem, but your power circuit is the problem if it is tripping the main switch when the microwave is put on. Maybe time to get an electrician to check this out.
Just type in 'T170 Bulb' into ebay.com and you will get over 50 different sellers. They range between $3 and $10. If you are in the UK/Australia/New Zealand/Japan then the 240v is the one. If you are in the US, then I guess you will need the lower voltage, but it is worthwhile getting it from a us seller to make sure you are getting the right one. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
This is dangerous! the capacitor in this microwave even though its unplugged still stores high voltage, we always discharge the capacitor before any work is carried out and the general public should not even attempt as this can kill even when unplugged, at least advise people of this.
I just purchased a new Whirlpool Microwave in use 1 month THE LIGHT IS NOT WORKING, I replaced a GE Microwave over 30 years old still working good and with the same LIGHT that it came with. So now I guess China making all of our light bulbs can not make a bulb burn more that an hour. that is all it has be used. So In this case it will cost Lowe's a replacement Microwave because of the Bulb. This is really bad business. I can not try to change the bulb because it voids all warranties and extended warranties. WOW american bad business. we purchased all new Whirlpool appliances now I am worried.
Hope you get it sorted mate. As you can see from my video, the hardest part of changing the bulb is simply getting the backing off and then putting it back on. If you know what you are doing it is very easy, but the first time you do it, it is always a bit fiddly.
can't believe have to take the whole thing apart just to replace a bulb !Thank you for the video

Thank you so mutch, because my light bulb also broke, and now i got an new one.
Exactly what I needed to know thanks! $10 for a bulb, wow, that's expensive....but gotta be done...
$14.38 +$6.50 shipping on Amazon but it's for 2 bulbs.Might be the only thing that is cheaper or about the same price in 2022
Fantastic thanks so much! I would have been lost without this video!!!
No problem, thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing. Now I know what to do.

very helpful thanks alot
if the camera would've a closer focus.. then multiple times better!
Thanks for the feedback mate, watch out for my other videos, I will take this into account for the next one I do. Thanks for watching.

Be careful with the screwdriver inside the microwave! There is a high voltage capacitor inside there!
Thank you for the video. Very helpful!
Thanks for watching.
Great upload.
How do I clean the front grill on spacemaker xl 1800 microwave?
camera is too far away ... can't see location of bulb!!!!
Please zoom in or get closer so viewers can see what you’re doing.
THANKS - very helpful thanks alot
Thanks for watching. Great to hear it helped.

Unable to find bulb for my CMW 100 microwave!
I'm surprised mate - they are usually pretty much all standard.

Take the old one out and match it.
Why do you fix stuff wearing a shirt and trousers? Also can't see what you're doing! I learned that i have to take the side off mine, that's about it.
Wearing a shirt shows even a pen pusher can do this job. Hopefully you will enjoy my more recent videos which are a bit closer. Thanks for watching.
How to change frigidaire microwave language settings from Spanish to English
Thanks for the effort, but I am a very mechanically-challenged person. The camera view is too distant for me to make out detail, & your hand impeded my vision of the machine's interior guts.
You really don't need to see exactly what he's doing - it will become apparent once you lift the case.

Alexandrina Williams hi which model is it as my Panasonic bulb died recently and doesn't look like an identical replacement is available?
The microwave model number for this video is a Panasonic NN-ST663W.
Howto Man thanks. looking for 462 but eventually found it by finding the service manual, cross referencing to part number and googling it. saved a few pennies as espares etc cost a lot for p&p. cheers.

What wires go to which terminal on the bulb!??? Were you going for a world record or a tutorial??

Title says 10 seconds but I see it too 7 minutes in total. 😁
Bad lighting can hsrdly see anything

Thanks for your feedback. Thanks for watching.
You don't really need to see exactly what he's doing - it will become quite apparent once you get "under the hood." Press on - and smile!
plus I have trouble hearing him
Anybody knows what it means if the light works for a week, goes off for a week or 2 & then comes back on & keeps repeating this cycle?
Sounds like it's some kind of loose connection. I would try replacing the bulb to see if that fixes it (the new bulb is not expensive). If that does not fix it, at least you can completely rule the bulb out.
Couldn’t see anything. Too far away
Long distance camera work, cant see
it wasn't necessary to show the cover being replaced
Cant see it
I have delonghi microwave when I plug in power it switched of main power what should I do please anyone know to be fixed

Hi mate. Can I have the link to eBay for buying the bulb/lamp replacement? Cheers

Thanks for your comments and insight - Take note of this comment everyone.... very useful.
Sure wish I could have heard you talking ...
useless,cant see a thing
I'd be concerned with being contaminated by radiation or simular particulates emitted by the oven!!
Do you use a microwave to cook things in?

wanted to see the bulb replacement area, not your hand!
Bulb £1.19 on Ebay.
Clickbait, it took me 4 minutes and 11 seconds
Hahaha....nice one!
Great Skill, but honestly a bad video. Should have focussed on the lamp unit etc. What a pity
Thanks for watching and for the honest feedback. Hope the video was in someway useful.
Can't really see much
7 and half minute video of not seeing anything.
And that is 7 and a half minutes you will never get back in your life :-) Thanks for watching.
Torx
Hope you get it sorted mate. As you can see from my video, the hardest part of changing the bulb is simply getting the backing off and then putting it back on. If you know what you are doing it is very easy, but the first time you do it, it is always a bit fiddly.
Easier to buy a new one....geez what a pita🙄🙄
Easier yes, but buying a new one costs $200, replacing the bulb only costs $5. Thanks for watching.
BAD for Mother Nature! Give fixing it a go - you'll be proud of yourself!
