Spear of Destiny were the first band I ever saw in Leeds 1988. Really good memory. I was 15. I saw loads of bands in later years but your fist gig always stays with you. Loved every minute of it.
Oh, Kirk ! (Or someone else...), could you inform me, when you will come in France, near, Toulouse or Tarbes, cause i missed you, there's some years ago ! ... And i was completly disabused ! ... so i'd like so much, not to miss you a second time ! ... Cause Spear and Theatre are ones ofvmy favorite bande, with The Clash... thanks for having so much well played, with your band, on the Strummer's camp of 2013 ! It was really giant for me ! So thanks to you all and of course, for my idol, the great Joe ! And i don't want to forgot too, the great, Joey Ramones, that i love so much and the most important for me, you, my dear Kirk ! ... Long life to you ! ... Your friend and great fan, called Franck, from Southwest of France ! ...
The biggest influence on my mid to late teens. Obsessed with music, image ...all of it. Hate what he’s had to endure over the years. Keep on keeping on Kirk and thank you.
He got on my number 5 bus in Brighton! I was so taken aback to see one of my all-time heroes from back in the day, I never even said "Hello Kirk. Thanks for all the brilliant times me and my mates had going mental to your music." Scum-sucking money mad music whores like Simon Cowell should be made to listen to the likes of Kirk Brandon, Colin Hay and Dave Stewart on a continuous loop, until they finally get it. Pure talent isn't about money, or texting in your votes, or air headed boy bands. I weep for modern pop music.
He wasn’t mainstream enough for the time,,wham,Elton John ect ,,his music had abit of a cool edge when all the rest was cheesy pop ,,that’s why they never took off big time
@@leeetchells609 yer but they deserved more success than they got ,I guess at the time they were maybe abit cool to make it huge with the music trends at the time been realy cheesey the like of wham ,Mel n Kim erasure ect ,spear were more cool edged music and I guess the kids just didn’t realy get it ,,I was into them and my mates were like what the hell is this ? @@chrisarcher6972 is your arse still hurting? I love a lot of music this man has made & lyrically he's fantastic but he's never had the greatest of voices & here he sounds awful in places. It's my opinion that's all.
Guy is up there on the top 10 unsung heroes ! Brilliant talent hugely underrated !!!

1 of the greatest people and singers to come out in my life sing on Kirk Brandon.
I could listen to that guitar all day.

Such an incredible voice. He hasn't lost anything of his edge.
I'm still listening in 2018, because he's still got it x
Beautiful tune..dark but beautiful

Hello Night owls. this is for you. The one and only KIRK BRANDON singing Never take Me Alive. Yes he's a legend.
keep em coming , olde punks stand at the back , sometimes ...
glad i fount this its a theatre of destiny packed evening , missing london
Kirk was a powerful force when he performed..he's what I'd call a punk opera singer
Great song.....one of the greatest then . And still.
Absolute classic.. always loved this song.
“Never Take Me Alive” and “Do You Believe in the West World” are two of the best songs to come out of the era
Brilliant!!! Just bloody brilliant!!!!
25 years ago... and still one of my favorites - dear Kirk I wish I could meet you, you're fantastic - come to Flanders Belgium
SUCH a talentet guy. I LOVED this song when it came out - and still do!❣️
Beautiful song, loved it since the day I heard it many years ago. Well done Kirk...
Incredible voice, I love watching these guys
Still touring and gigging! Top bloke! Couple of my mates bands have supported him ...... Southern Approach and The Red Eyes Acoustic
This song is almost a metaphor for life struggling against a rabid system of lies and corruption
Jeez - that is talent. When music was artistry.
Such a moving song and the same performance. It's so heartening that someone out there really means what he says. All the best to you and your family.
Superb Kirk. Electric Circus was awesome.
More than a legend, a true being...
Dont forget his songwriting second to none...right up there with the big boys
Keep going m8,the band too.The whole worlds waiting.
Absolute quality !!!
Awesome song

👏👏
I think this sounds better with age...he looks like a man who has experienced enough to catch up with his own song.
Pet Shop Boys 'Disco' album on shelf to our left.....
nothing else matters from him would be great
To those carping on about him being out of tune, he often was. Was all about the feeling, the songs were still incredible.
Kicking Mr B
What's the strumming pattern for this. I'm a complete novice and can't find it anywhere online tab or tutorial. Any help greatly appreciated
the phrasing and timing he chooses is always suprising .. morrissey does it too .. chooses off beat to start a line etc.. just interesting
And STILL GAWJUS :)
as good as it was first time around.
mother ....
~ come check out Gag-bit Vinyl in Bushwick NYC for forgotten early 80s/post punk/new wave ~ :-D
never take me alive....
Outland is brilliant: Not Gary Numan - Spear Of Destiny : )~
Gary Numan couldn't carry a tune in a fucking suitcase.
Good song he wrote but terrible performer and singer, good thing paradise lost came in and made this song better.
yes always thought he was a good geezer - however, he has questionable micro-expressions that make me suspicious of him
Such as?
Some tone deaf people watching & listening to this. He sounds awful. Out of tune & weak voice.

He's lost it - very weak voice and well out of tune - shame :(
Exactly my thoughts. Terrible in places.
