"perform" is the most difficult step. planning things out is always easier because most of the time you want to do those things, at least ideally. But when the time comes to actually do the thing, you may feel tired, exhausted, distracted, overwhelmed, etc etc, which is what makes carrying out the plans so difficult.
I'm so glad you didn't cut 10:16-10:31 lol it really made my night to just see you be relatable and goofy and have an almost Nathan Zed little humour break in the middle of all the usual stuff!
@@ZachHighley This might be a time consuming thing to make a vedio for UA-cam, but trust me you're literally helping a lot of students to become successful doctors❤️
I gotta tell you man, you are the goat. Your videos have helped a ton when I feel overwhelmed. It’s great to finally watch one while I’m chilling for once
There is just something about his videos that I click on it the moment I find it on my recommendations. The subtlety of his filming is so beautiful, to say the least
This makes so much sense, when you workout you specify the days and the movements, and when you're on a program, you have a coach of some sort. You need back off / hard days. If you workout, you can just apply everything, making it very relatable
The best thing about Zach is that he both gives really useful information and is hilarious at the same time. Sometimes he does things that seem a little out of character (like fighting with a flashcard or reading a book upside down), but that's what makes this video golden.
At least to me, I only find this good advice if you’re life situation requires you to be maximally time efficient to meet your goals. You Zach, are in that category and are doing a great job of maximizing your time. This video is a fantastic explanation of the strategy that allows you to do what you demand of yourself. However, most people aren’t in this position. I’m a fairly productive person. It’s great to have goals and build healthy habits. But on the flip side, there is great value in relaxation and spontaneity in life. Most people won’t be able to hold themselves to this extreme standard and will be left feeling like they never achieved enough. Time to do nothing is a priority for me. And I believe most people would find it equally valuable.
All these advices are for people who don't have fulfilling life yet, and trying to achieve it. For example, I know a lot of mothers who their children is their whole fulfillment, their pride and their joy thus these kind of things are not needed for them. Some people are just lucky to achieve thier happiness early in life.
Hey Zach, I truly love your channel; I actually became addicted. Thanks for all the superb quality content. Your videos, especially ones on Anki, had a positive impact on a massive part of my life. Please, continue to enlighten us. P.S. congrats on getting sponsored; you deserved it! All the best! 🙏🏼
Zach, you rock! I’m loving these tips as I am transiting out of nursing school having graduated last month- I noticed being out of school my priorities have shifted but I find myself even busier! Hopefully this can help re-shift my life back!
I think the main takeaway from this video for me is the bulking, I think meditating with my book on the head to let all that knowledge seep into your brain is one of the best ways to use time
I'm a 2nd year medical student in Egypt and I like to see your videos . Sincerely you make me realize that I can do anything besides studying and that's cooool thank you🥺❤️

Such great advice thank you! I’ll be applying to PhD programs in the fall, have a coaching business and Im a single parent. The one thing I don't like is how everything is the same color on your calendar. I am going to take all your recommendations and also I think color code my "Must Do", "Absolutely Want" and "Want" on my calendar.
Zach!! WOW, the "BE RUTHLESS" section at 4:26 is awesome. I need to do this. What is the most surprising thing you learned that you waste a lot fo time on? For me, it's getting sidetracked once I do start with a given priority 🙄
@@ZachHighley PLEASE VISIT City Tap House (where the founders celebrated after signing the Declaration of Independence) and McGillin's Olde Ale House (first pub in Philly). These need to be somewhere on that priority list 😂

I loved your Anki flash card video but can you explain the rhythm you do? Do you do them everyday? If so how to pick which ones or do you do all of them? What’s is your goal with anki?

I'm not sure if it applies to everyone, but also include play/rest time in your daily priorities, just make sure to perform the hi prio ones first. For me, it's completely alright to play games 2hours before bedtime, because I really love playing. I tried one time to put only work on my calendar and got really burned out

The new rich is available time. Most I know are on a cocktail of psyche meds to cope, from lack of available time to unwind for example. To your example of having available time in the evenings spending it on video games. Well, think of it this way. How would the quality of studying be in the evenings after rotations. Low quality. So now we actually have less time in the context of the quality of time for a task. Depressing to think about because I think most believe they have time, which they do, BUT the needed energy applied cannot be willed 24hrs a day.
