This song totally shows hua Cheng's pov. His helplessness, his loyality,his loneliness, his desire,his gentleness, his longing,his devotion towards the man who lost everything while trying to protect it. Got betrayed by his loyal comrade, was belittled, insulted ,stabbed but the kindness in his heart never changed. In the middle of the story you will fing xie lian annoying for being such a pure white lotus but as you go deeper and deeper you will realize that the kindness he emits comes from the bottom of his heart. The saddest thing is he wanted to save everybody but at the end of the those everybody stabbed him physically and emotionally. He is one of the bravest characters i have ever seen . His kindness is something that made me his true fan. Same goes for hua cheng. Even after everything that happened he is not like those ml who would destroy the world if someone touched their beloved. He knew killing innocents was never an option. Killing their dreams were never the solution. Because he didn't rise to the top like other ml. He struggled and died. He revived and continued. He was satisfied watching xie lian be happy. He never asked for more for the fear of losing what he has now. He lived in those dark alley. Fought war,got discriminated ,trampled. He felt that he was useless the day when xie lian lost everything. Hong'er , wuming or hua cheng they were the people who were never loved but learned to love in the most tender way. Wow it became too long.

Another thing is that white lotus characters usually have their misery known and very much pitied by all and all would apologise for it. All that misery just goes for characters to be like 'oh the poor thing'. But here only Hua Cheng knows the full extent of his trauma just like in real life only some knows what you've been through and not all would even know it existed. Also Xie Lian does let others step on him but he doesn't need a hero to come save him. He is letting them step on him because it was his choice and not because he is fragile and defenceless.

oh my absolute goodness, this is INCREDIBLE! This was so gorgeous, I seriously had butterflies the entire time. Incredible work to such a beautiful song. I will be rewatching this over and over again. Seriously, you captured the mood and tone of Hua Cheng's love so delightfully. Thank you for all of your hard work, this was truly astonishing. My favourite part was 3:14 with the animation there and the swell of the music, I got so excited! and the little montage of hualian moments ending with the kiss. My heart just feels so full! I’ve read a lot of books. I’ve seen a lot of movies, watched a lot of anime. But nothing, I repeat nothing, has ever topped their love story in my perspective. The pain, the growth, the pursuit, all absolutely beautiful. This was my first BL, it touched me so much and opened this world to me. This video is so beautiful.

I highly recommend!!! Tian Guan Ci Fu, or Heaven Official's Blessing in english. There's novel, donghua/anime (season 2 is releasing this month!), manhua/comics, and audiobook. The adaptations of course havent caught up with the novel yet, so you won't learn the details of Xie Lian and Hua Cheng's past yet (which this animatic is about) unless you read the novel

Fun fact: when i first found this, i had no idea what Heaven Official's Blessing was, but I loved it anyway and added it to my playlist. It's now a year later and, though I prefer SVSSS, TGCF is one of my favorite works. Glad to say this definitely still holds up!
I know nothing about this, but I absolutely LOVE IT. I love the way the verses have monochrome color palettes, but the chorus has two main colors for every frame. I love the way your coloring looks so watercolor-y, so vibrant and beautiful and colorful yet simple and emotional too. I love your line art-it's so expressive and pleasing. I love how you've even made the lyrics fit the tone of your animatic, instead of them being obtrusive and annoying. This is so beautiful. You've created a masterpiece.

Good shit 👍 Edit: theres so much i love about this my eyes are teary my heart is hurt but also full. I especially love how gently hua cheng smiles at 3:28 and the scene after that with the lanterns and them looking at each other was absolutely gorgeous, and I love the way colors bloomed on Xie Lian after he was given the bamboo hat 2:27 it starts small then went brighter and brighter and it was paired with that part of the music omg

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DECIPHER MY FEELINGS ON THIS, BUT THIS IS SO GOOD??? THE ART STYLE, COLORING, SONG CHOICE!!!! And some of those scenes made my heart pang. This fits them so well, and I loved how it shows Hua Cheng's past, and how attached he got to Xie Lang due to how much life he gave him. The ending, or the scene with Hua Cheng falling in front of Xie Lang's body was so intense, and the ending was so soft and perfect, wrapping it up perfectly. Lovely animatic!

Hi okay I'm back because I don't think my comment was honestly enough to express how amazing this was. your color palette it is amazing and brings an almost fantasy like wistful atmosphere to the whole video, and the eyes, even though they're simple, I HAD to pause at 0:30 because of how much it communicates. He looks so so tired, and that's exactly how he felt. The moving animation in very specific part especially in time with the music was such good choice, it adds flow and direction, beautifully executed. The gentle fad of each frame works so well with the music, and the sketch waterpaint style really does it so much justice. Also, the specific parts where some of the colors seem more saturated seem to go with specific lyrics and I have to say how well this was planned. Xie Lian through Hua Cheng's eyes is always vivid and associated with warm colors and that is so beautiful. The fades between Hong-Er/Wu Ming and Hua Cheng cutting back and forth was so smart!! Sorry I've gone on and on I've had these thoughts since I first saw it and just couldn't find the right way to articulate it. The montage at the end made smile, it really was a tale from start to end and told beautifully. Honestly, thank you for making this masterpiece. P.S. You draw them both so beautifully but I have to say I have a little soft spot in my heart for how you draw Hua Cheng. You make him so pretty T_T

Edit: theres so much i love about this my eyes are teary my heart is hurt but also full. I especially love how gently hua cheng smiles at 3:28 and the scene after that with the lanterns and them looking at each other was absolutely gorgeous, and I love the way colors bloomed on Xie Lian after he was given the bamboo hat 2:27 it starts small then went brighter and brighter and it was paired with that part of the music omg
I am speechless. The music, the art, the colours, the animation...It was just so imperfectly, perfect. It was it's own unique style and feeling. The emotions this 4 minute art piece derived out of me can flow a river of rainbow hue.

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DECIPHER MY FEELINGS ON THIS, BUT THIS IS SO GOOD??? THE ART STYLE, COLORING, SONG CHOICE!!!! And some of those scenes made my heart pang. This fits them so well, and I loved how it shows Hua Cheng's past, and how attached he got to Xie Lang due to how much life he gave him. The ending, or the scene with Hua Cheng falling in front of Xie Lang's body was so intense, and the ending was so soft and perfect, wrapping it up perfectly. Lovely animatic!
This made bawl man, TGCF is such a beautiful story, the love between them is so strong and i think this video portrayed that so perfectly

Hi okay I'm back because I don't think my comment was honestly enough to express how amazing this was. your color palette it is amazing and brings an almost fantasy like wistful atmosphere to the whole video, and the eyes, even though they're simple, I HAD to pause at 0:30 because of how much it communicates. He looks so so tired, and that's exactly how he felt. The moving animation in very specific part especially in time with the music was such good choice, it adds flow and direction, beautifully executed. The gentle fad of each frame works so well with the music, and the sketch waterpaint style really does it so much justice. Also, the specific parts where some of the colors seem more saturated seem to go with specific lyrics and I have to say how well this was planned. Xie Lian through Hua Cheng's eyes is always vivid and associated with warm colors and that is so beautiful. The fades between Hong-Er/Wu Ming and Hua Cheng cutting back and forth was so smart!! Sorry I've gone on and on I've had these thoughts since I first saw it and just couldn't find the right way to articulate it. The montage at the end made smile, it really was a tale from start to end and told beautifully. Honestly, thank you for making this masterpiece.
P.S. You draw them both so beautifully but I have to say I have a little soft spot in my heart for how you draw Hua Cheng. You make him so pretty T_T
