It really gives off the feel that they have power over them, AND OMG THE WAY HUA CHENG LOOKED AT XIE LIAN AT THE END WAS CHEF"S KISS.
The spilled water cutting across Shi Wudu's neck on the card...:! So much fantastic symbolism on top of amazing animation, song choice, and a gorgeous art style 🥰

This is sooo OMG so much symbolism alludes to so many spoilers. Everything is so well done. I can just feel the love you have for the book radiating from the art. The lenticular card of He Xuan that switches between crying alive and stone faced ghost king hurt so much (but in all the best ways) And with Shi Qingxuan, he played with him like a toy. Grabbed his hand only to push him down again just like three separate times in the novel. AAAAAAAAA The way Ling Wen's brocade immortal appeared in the dark was so good. Even the money passing from Hua Cheng to He Xuan was perfect. The Russian fandom of tgcf is so strong. Thank you for drawing the intro for all the characters. I can't wait until the the 12 copies of the volume 4 that I ordered arrive to my country aaaaaaaaa

EVERYTHING GOOD ABOUT THIS (very long list, but i'm an animation student in awe so what can you do?!): 1) 0:19 the two women opening in sync immediately drew my attention and made me want to keep watching. Amazing how you instantly hooked my attention in the first 19 seconds!! 2) 0:24 THE HAND ANIMATION??? it's so impressive!! The expression on Hua Cheng's face is golden, and i noticed throughout the animation that you characterized every character perfectly - especially Hua Cheng! 3) 0:28 as an animation student to another animator, WOW. Your animation is so smooth, it's hypnotizing to watch!! You are very talented! 4) 0:33 once again, the smoothness of the animation is spectacular, but not only that, the detail on all the cards are beautiful 5) 0:38 i am absolutely obsessed with this entire transition. it's just SO seamless and He Xuan's bored/annoyed expression compared to his almost mournful one on Hua Cheng's card, even though it's so minuet just like how He Xuan is a very closed off person, it perfectly captures his personality. It's very impressive!! 6) 0:41 im obsessed with the card revealing He Xuan's secret, hidden emotions of grief! 7) 0:44 not only is this on beat (making it extremely addicting to replay), the distribution of weight is really REALLY well done! I find it difficult to get it right so this is even more impressive to me!! 8) 0:46 I SCREAMED AT THIS PART!!!!! GOSH it's amazing!! The way He Xuan so violently *pushes Shi Qingxuan further into the water* after first appearing to help them is crazy, and it's my favorite part in the entire animation! it is so cruel and ruthless, like how He Xuan really did doomed Shi Qingxuan to a fate worse than death 9) 0:48 the wine spilt very intentionally on Shi Wudu's head/neck....but also keeping the viewer grounded in the messiness and chaos of the casino, almost as if Hua Cheng is a god or observer to all the madness (which isn't too far off how he actually was in the novel) 10) Likewise, at 0:50 Hua Cheng turns the card over, symbolizing Shi Wudu's death. How Hua Cheng *could have* prevented it, but how he prefers to keep to himself and not get his hands dirty for anyone but Xie Lian, no matter the cost. 11) 0:51 my favorite man Pei Ming!! Having him centered in the middle of the screen, bathed in red like bloodshed with the dice turning into presumably the woman he's abandoned and Pei Ming walking sternly makes it seem as though he's actively trying to dignifiely walk away, but the mistakes of his past bath the rest of the screen and don't allow him to leave. The color theory used here definitely makes my analysis brain run off, haha! 12) 0:54 personally, this reminds me of the previous He Xuan/Shi Qingxuan scene where the key frames go 1/2. He Xuan holds then violently pushes Shi Qingxuan down, Pei Ming tenderly holds a woman's hands then heartlessly blows the fire towards her. Both are drastic juxtapositions and i just can't get enough of them!!! I love it! 13) 0:57 Ling Wen stroking the brocade immortal's face, as if wiping away tears before looking over her head as if she was interrupted 14) 0:58 this card sends chills up my spin and it's really well drawn! Ling Wen's hand on her scrolls almost looks as if she's reaching for the brocade immortal's, but ultimately sticks to her papers - just like how Ling Wen would sacrificed anything for her goals 15) 1:00 Hua Cheng plucking the petal of a flower of playing cards and tosses it aside, symbolizing how Mu Qing and Feng Xin were just two of thousands of other Xian Le citizens who suffered 16) 1:03 aaaah this specific scene breaks my heart!! Xie Lian is there, waiting, with an open outstretch hand to help and Mu Qing is trying desperately to break out from the confines of the play card to grab Xie Lian, but ultimately he fails 17) 1:06 Feng Xin actively shooting away any hands/love since he dedicated himself fully to Xie Lian as a Xian Le soldier, neglecting his own personal relationships outside of Xie Lian's, therefore ultimately ending up lonely and filled with regret when a woman he *did* love died 18) 1:11 for someone who's favorite characters in the entire TCGF series is Yin Yu and Quan Yizhen, gosh this part hit hard!!! I think it's genius that they are presented as trapped in chess pieces, and Hua Cheng (despite not playing a roll in Yin Yu's banishment) uses Quan Yizhen's chess piece to show the audience that Yizhen was the thing that pushed Yin Yu so be banished (fall) and subsequently become the wanning moon officer (Quan Yizhen reaching out to Yin Yu broke my heart!! It seems there's always outstretched hands in TGCF, but character's always reach for them too late...) 19) 1:17 do i need to say anything about this to explain how AMAZING this part is??? all the discarded cards of disgraced and/or dead heavenly officials, the fallen chess pieces and the man they all make up is genius!!! it's such a smart idea!! 20) 1:20 i really like Hua Cheng's angry expression here, how he pauses in his calligraphy to grimace. No matter how cruel, depressing or horrific the past scenes have been, Hua Cheng continued to filter through them like he was watching an opera - a bystander. But Jun Wu is specifically tied to and targets Xie Lian, which causes Hua Cheng to physically stop in his storytelling with an annoyed expression! It demonstrates without any words to the audience that Hua Cheng cares to much for Xie Lian that he only gets affected by others when it affects Xie Lian :') 21) 1:22 I AM SO NORMAL ABOUT THIS SCENE!!!! WAAAAAAH!!! YOU ANIMATED HUA CHENG'S EYES SOFTENING AT THE APPEARANCE OF XIE LIAN SOSO WELL! It's adorable!! Hua Cheng's eyes changing from complete disgust to pure, uncensored love and admiration is just- AWWWW 22) 1:23 firstly, Xie Lian is gorgous in your art style!! Secondly, he is so polite the way he peers in! Brilliant characterization with no words, truly you are a talented storyteller! 23) 1:24 the small nervous squeeze of the chair 24) 1:28 charming Ha Cheng with only his smile shown, highlighting his happiness!!! The genuine smile on Xie Lian's face is absolutely precious aswell! I love the detail of when Hua Cheng playfully extending his hand and Xie Lian laughs as if to say "Have dignity" but the new blush adds so much more context to the scene that it's amazingly well done, saying a thousand words in two simple actions

THIS IS SO GODDAMN GOOD ❤ The fact that Pei Mings card does not change but the dice around him does and he's the king of hearts? Love it. I watched it like 10 times already to look for all the symbolism and I think I still haven't found it all is immaculate. I could watch both the trailers on replay so far and it keeps me motivated to learn russian to read the books in this language as well. Why are there so many stupidly skilled russian artists making animatics for TGCF?!? You all are so so good at what you do and this esspecially was masterfully done! just making a list of my favorite things about this: - the level of detail that went into Hua Cheng's hands is unbelievable, they're so full of personality, his character really comes through in the gestures - the ghost girls opening the curtain are so charming - just the concpet of hua cheng drawing the heavenly officials on the cards while playing with he xuan, just to be petty - the nonchalant way he xuan just pockets the coin without even looking at it - not only the drink falling on shi wudu's head, but the water physics and the little sprinkle falling over when the card is turned. why so much attention to detail?? the fact that he xuan and hua cheng don't seem bothered by the mess they made - pei ming walking forward leaving a trail of conflicted women - the ink stains on ling wen's fingers! - XIE LIAN FAILING TO HELP MU QING (or is it the other way around?) - and then quan yizhen failing to help yin yu - the final design putting all the cards together! jun wu! hua cheng gagging a little in his mouth at the sight of jun wu lmao - the light in hua cheng's eye when xie lian walks in!

I think it was Muqing trying to find his woman (one with the dead baby) And after him was Fengxing(?) shooting at women he's scared of. Also Hexuan on card with fish skeleton is current him, and the second one wish white fish is his previous life when he was miserable (tears) but alive (that's why white full body fish)

omfg i love how the music is silly and mocking while showing the stories of all the other officials, because hua cheng doesn't really care and at most finds it entertaining. the lyrics *literally* being "everyone is dumb" perfectly sums up how he feels about heaven. the song immediately stops as soon as jun wu comes up, abruptly bringing us back to reality as hua cheng becomes agitated because now the story involves xie lian. and then the change to the more somber, yet romantic music as soon as he notices xl's presense is perfect to show how much peace they bring eachother. i lovelovelovelove every aspect of this animation SOOOO much, i just had to take a moment to compliment your music choice as well!! deff the best tgcf fanwork ive ever seen edit: i wanted to add after rewatching for the millionth time, hua cheng calling jun wu dumb right on beat with the music as it cuts out is SO funny

The lenticular card of He Xuan that switches between crying alive and stone faced ghost king hurt so much (but in all the best ways)
And with Shi Qingxuan, he played with him like a toy. Grabbed his hand only to push him down again just like three separate times in the novel. AAAAAAAAA The way Ling Wen's brocade immortal appeared in the dark was so good. Even the money passing from Hua Cheng to He Xuan was perfect. The Russian fandom of tgcf is so strong. Thank you for drawing the intro for all the characters.

EVERYTHING GOOD ABOUT THIS (very long list, but i'm an animation student in awe so what can you do?!):
1) 0:19 the two women opening in sync immediately drew my attention and made me want to keep watching. Amazing how you instantly hooked my attention in the first 19 seconds!!
2) 0:24 THE HAND ANIMATION??? it's so impressive!! The expression on Hua Cheng's face is golden, and i noticed throughout the animation that you characterized every character perfectly - especially Hua Cheng!
3) 0:28 as an animation student to another animator, WOW. Your animation is so smooth, it's hypnotizing to watch!! You are very talented!
4) 0:33 once again, the smoothness of the animation is spectacular, but not only that, the detail on all the cards are beautiful
5) 0:38 i am absolutely obsessed with this entire transition. it's just SO seamless and He Xuan's bored/annoyed expression compared to his almost mournful one on Hua Cheng's card, even though it's so minuet just like how He Xuan is a very closed off person, it perfectly captures his personality. It's very impressive!!
6) 0:41 im obsessed with the card revealing He Xuan's secret, hidden emotions of grief!
7) 0:44 not only is this on beat (making it extremely addicting to replay), the distribution of weight is really REALLY well done! I find it difficult to get it right so this is even more impressive to me!!
8) 0:46 I SCREAMED AT THIS PART!!!!! GOSH it's amazing!! The way He Xuan so violently *pushes Shi Qingxuan further into the water* after first appearing to help them is crazy, and it's my favorite part in the entire animation! it is so cruel and ruthless, like how He Xuan really did doomed Shi Qingxuan to a fate worse than death
9) 0:48 the wine spilt very intentionally on Shi Wudu's head/neck....but also keeping the viewer grounded in the messiness and chaos of the casino, almost as if Hua Cheng is a god or observer to all the madness (which isn't too far off how he actually was in the novel)
10) Likewise, at 0:50 Hua Cheng turns the card over, symbolizing Shi Wudu's death. How Hua Cheng *could have* prevented it, but how he prefers to keep to himself and not get his hands dirty for anyone but Xie Lian, no matter the cost.
11) 0:51 my favorite man Pei Ming!! Having him centered in the middle of the screen, bathed in red like bloodshed with the dice turning into presumably the woman he's abandoned and Pei Ming walking sternly makes it seem as though he's actively trying to dignifiely walk away, but the mistakes of his past bath the rest of the screen and don't allow him to leave. The color theory used here definitely makes my analysis brain run off, haha!
12) 0:54 personally, this reminds me of the previous He Xuan/Shi Qingxuan scene where the key frames go 1/2. He Xuan holds then violently pushes Shi Qingxuan down, Pei Ming tenderly holds a woman's hands then heartlessly blows the fire towards her. Both are drastic juxtapositions and i just can't get enough of them!!! I love it!
13) 0:57 Ling Wen stroking the brocade immortal's face, as if wiping away tears before looking over her head as if she was interrupted
14) 0:58 this card sends chills up my spin and it's really well drawn! Ling Wen's hand on her scrolls almost looks as if she's reaching for the brocade immortal's, but ultimately sticks to her papers - just like how Ling Wen would sacrificed anything for her goals
15) 1:00 Hua Cheng plucking the petal of a flower of playing cards and tosses it aside, symbolizing how Mu Qing and Feng Xin were just two of thousands of other Xian Le citizens who suffered
16) 1:03 aaaah this specific scene breaks my heart!! Xie Lian is there, waiting, with an open outstretch hand to help and Mu Qing is trying desperately to break out from the confines of the play card to grab Xie Lian, but ultimately he fails
17) 1:06 Feng Xin actively shooting away any hands/love since he dedicated himself fully to Xie Lian as a Xian Le soldier, neglecting his own personal relationships outside of Xie Lian's, therefore ultimately ending up lonely and filled with regret when a woman he *did* love died
18) 1:11 for someone who's favorite characters in the entire TCGF series is Yin Yu and Quan Yizhen, gosh this part hit hard!!! I think it's genius that they are presented as trapped in chess pieces, and Hua Cheng (despite not playing a roll in Yin Yu's banishment) uses Quan Yizhen's chess piece to show the audience that Yizhen was the thing that pushed Yin Yu so be banished (fall) and subsequently become the wanning moon officer (Quan Yizhen reaching out to Yin Yu broke my heart!! It seems there's always outstretched hands in TGCF, but character's always reach for them too late...)
19) 1:17 do i need to say anything about this to explain how AMAZING this part is??? all the discarded cards of disgraced and/or dead heavenly officials, the fallen chess pieces and the man they all make up is genius!!! it's such a smart idea!!
20) 1:20 i really like Hua Cheng's angry expression here, how he pauses in his calligraphy to grimace. No matter how cruel, depressing or horrific the past scenes have been, Hua Cheng continued to filter through them like he was watching an opera - a bystander. But Jun Wu is specifically tied to and targets Xie Lian, which causes Hua Cheng to physically stop in his storytelling with an annoyed expression! It demonstrates without any words to the audience that Hua Cheng cares to much for Xie Lian that he only gets affected by others when it affects Xie Lian :')
21) 1:22 I AM SO NORMAL ABOUT THIS SCENE!!!! WAAAAAAH!!! YOU ANIMATED HUA CHENG'S EYES SOFTENING AT THE APPEARANCE OF XIE LIAN SOSO WELL! It's adorable!! Hua Cheng's eyes changing from complete disgust to pure, uncensored love and admiration is just- AWWWW
22) 1:23 firstly, Xie Lian is gorgous in your art style!! Secondly, he is so polite the way he peers in! Brilliant characterization with no words, truly you are a talented storyteller!
23) 1:24 the small nervous squeeze of the chair
24) 1:28 charming Ha Cheng with only his smile shown, highlighting his happiness!!! The genuine smile on Xie Lian's face is absolutely precious aswell! I love the detail of when Hua Cheng playfully extending his hand and Xie Lian laughs as if to say "Have dignity" but the new blush adds so much more context to the scene that it's amazingly well done, saying a thousand words in two simple actions

The fact that Pei Mings card does not change but the dice around him does and he's the king of hearts? Love it. I watched it like 10 times already to look for all the symbolism and I think I still haven't found it all is immaculate. I could watch both the trailers on replay so far and it keeps me motivated to learn russian to read the books in this language as well. All the foreshadowing and symbolisms blew my mind and I absolutely love spotting them, the cards of heavenly officials and the "bigger picture" Jun Wu that connects it all! I want to gush so much over this masterpiece ❤ truly a gift to tgcf community! I adore the art style so much and Hualian at the end makes my heart flutter
Why are there so many stupidly skilled russian artists making animatics for TGCF?!? You all are so so good at what you do and this esspecially was masterfully done! I love the way it introduces all the characters! Just a question, who are the two characters introduced right after He Xuan? I can't quite tell if one or the other of them is Qi Rong or Pei Ming.

just making a list of my favorite things about this:
- the level of detail that went into Hua Cheng's hands is unbelievable, they're so full of personality, his character really comes through in the gestures
- the ghost girls opening the curtain are so charming
- just the concpet of hua cheng drawing the heavenly officials on the cards while playing with he xuan, just to be petty
- the nonchalant way he xuan just pockets the coin without even looking at it
- not only the drink falling on shi wudu's head, but the water physics and the little sprinkle falling over when the card is turned. why so much attention to detail?? the fact that he xuan and hua cheng don't seem bothered by the mess they made
- pei ming walking forward leaving a trail of conflicted women
- the ink stains on ling wen's fingers!
- XIE LIAN FAILING TO HELP MU QING (or is it the other way around?)
- and then quan yizhen failing to help yin yu
- the final design putting all the cards together! jun wu! hua cheng gagging a little in his mouth at the sight of jun wu lmao
- the light in hua cheng's eye when xie lian walks in!

Весьма необычная кожа у Се Ляня 😅 Уже привыкла, что везде его изображают чуть ли не фарфоровым... Анимация потрясающая: казалось бы, легкая и забавная, а сколько всего в ней скрыто! Чего только стоит Цинсюань в стакане Черновода, или Ичжень, случайно спихнувший собой шиди в пропасть... Цепляет. Просто слов нет от тонкости задумки и донесения! 😍
omfg i love how the music is silly and mocking while showing the stories of all the other officials, because hua cheng doesn't really care and at most finds it entertaining. the lyrics *literally* being "everyone is dumb" perfectly sums up how he feels about heaven. the song immediately stops as soon as jun wu comes up, abruptly bringing us back to reality as hua cheng becomes agitated because now the story involves xie lian. and then the change to the more somber, yet romantic music as soon as he notices xl's presense is perfect to show how much peace they bring eachother.
