I mounted the Weboost in my Wrangler and will be trying it out this week. I didn't do a permanent installation as I also bought a different type of antenna so I can also use it with my travel trailer when camping.
Yeah they are cool. One of our guys has one one. Has the antenna for his car and then the overland antenna on his teardrop. Then just moves the unit from the car to the teardrop when at camp since we usually hangout around that.
That interior antenna should be near the phone you are using. It would matter where you put that base station and where your phones will be. The cable to the interior antenna is pretty long. You would have options. I have it attached via velcro, so I can move it, if I have to.
Originally it was mounted to my roof rack using the based that comes with this WeBoost overland edition. It worked OK, but I have switched to somethign a little more solid. I now use this: www.rhinorack.com/en-us/products/roof-rack-extras/brackets/aerial-brackets/folding-aerial-bracket_43196
It will not make something from nothing, but it has helped us in the mountains of TN & GA for sure during out trips. I would assume that with the signal boosted, it could help with streaming.
The inside and outside antennas do not have a distance requirement. Document station has stated that they should be as far as possible (my new setup on my new rig is set up better). The inside antenna need to be close to where your phone is mounted.

It has worked out well for us in the N GA and TN mountains. We feel it was money well spent.
Great video Marc! Perfect explanation on how it works!
Thanks Phil!!!!

That is a cool idea!
Good video. Any knowledge on if this would help from a roof top tent or camper? Can you get the boosted signal when much more than 18" away?

We boost sells a different type of antenna that's more suitable to interior trailer/RV use.
How close to the phone does that interior antenna need to be? I am looking at getting the overland kit for my sprinter
WeBoost recommends that the interior antenna be placed in a spot that is within 18 but no more that 36 inches of where your phone will be used.
@@FiveAngelsOutdoor thanks. Going shopping going to give it a try
Any chance of you hooking up a VNA and giving some numbers as to how much signal increase?
Man, that is a great idea. I should have thought about actual numbers. Let me work on that!
How do you have it mounted links

Does this help.with using your cell.phone as a hotspot for streaming?
