Portland is a charming historic city on the western shore of Portland Bay. It is a wonderful holiday destination with beaches, cafes, restaurants, parks, and a bustling seaport. In 1834, Portland became Victoria's first permanent settlement, and you can discover its history around the city.

Portland is located 350 kilometres West of Melbourne.
Take a ride on the Portland Cable Tram, and enjoy the historical commentary and scenic views along the foreshore.
Visit the Portland Maritime Museum, which was developed to house the Portland Lifeboat, built-in 1858. The Lifeboat is one of the oldest lifeboats remaining in the world.
At Whalers Bluff, you can see the lighthouse and stunning views over Portland, the bay and the port.
Wander through the beautiful botanic gardens, established in the 1850s, one of Australia's earliest botanic gardens.
The Graham Husson Fauna park has a great playground with a rainbow slide, and you can see albino kangaroos, wallabies and emus.
A short drive from Portland is the Cape Nelson State Park, where you can see the Lighthouse and look for Whales along the coast.
You can enjoy beautiful sandy beaches at Cape Bridgewater, see fur seals along the seal walk, and explore the Petrified forest and blowhole.
