Thank you for the help but also note once you change the battery you have to allow 24 hours for it to charge it will continue to say low battery after you replace it for the next 24 hours then it will be good

I found this video in Aug 2020. After restoration from a 28 hour power outage at my house, our panel was beeping every minute or so, and the panel had a message that read something like, "console battery low". So, I just figured I needed to replace the battery and went searching on You Tube for a video that told me how to remove the panel and find the battery, etc (as I didn't have a manual). But this guy's suggestion - after watching the entire video - to contact our security provider FIRST, was a game changer for me. I went on to call the provider, told them about the power outage, they reset from their end, and within 30 seconds the beeping stopped, the message was gone, and the CSR told me that the battery DID NOT need to be replaced, and that it would recharge itself since the house power had been restored. So, this video kept me from a trip out to purchase a new battery. Thanks...very helpful for my circumstances.

This one is identical to mine. I just ordered a new battery. The original lasted 3 years, 10 months. It was installed in early 2012, the date I see in this video inside the panel.

Thanks for the video. With the rolling black outs due to that storm I found out all the batteries were bad. Changed them all and still had system low battery warning. Went into the system test, backed out, system OK!!

    THANK YOU!
Your method is simplest and most efficient!
My original installer buried the alarm AC switch inside the wall, so I cannot turn the power off before the battery swap as others suggested. Your method bypasses this step and everything was a breeze.

If the replacement battery is not charged, it might take a few hours to fully charge the battery. So, the low system battery message may still be there until the battery is charged.

My battery required a charge. After battery install, the status light remained on and the alarm light next to it was blinking. I am assuming this is related to the low charge battery system
    notification.

This exact procedure will not work for the Frontpoint Security Simon XT. Additionally you have to unplug the panel from the wall outlet and unplug the RED wires that stick out of the bottom of the panel. Then reconnect the wall plug and red wires. I had to call customer support to get it right.

I am grateful for your observation... I spent several hours trying to make his directions work and came up empty. By disconnecting the power line and reconnecting completed the cycle the system needed to recognize the new battery. With different model it is critical to have the correct process... Thanks again for saving up a service call.

After connecting the battery I still had the low battery alarm so I had to power down the ac power supply before connecting the battery. It must reset the system from having the low battery alarm by powering down the whole thing. Then after connecting the battery then plugging in the ac power supply all alarms were gone.

Days after changing the battery the annoying "system low battery" alarms kept going off. I checked the voltage and it was at 7 volts so battery was well charged. Pressing disarm and status didn't change anything and the frustration continued. Because it happens every 4 hours my sleep was interrupted for over a week. I wanted to take a hammer and smash the panel to bits! Over the weekend I did a sensor test and that made things worse because on of the sensors now gave a tamper error that wouldn't go away even though the lid was put back on securely. I was about to delete everything and start from scratch, feared the motherboard was defective..... BUT I didn't give up and removed the panel completely from the wall for a while to inspect things on the inside. After powering back up things FINALLY went back to normal. OMG What a NIGHTMARE! I now hate my simon XT and next time it gives me trouble I am replacing with a more modern 317MZ unit so I can still use the existing sensors. (Nice touch screens on the market now.. I now know why interlogics went out of business! Simon XT is obsolete garbage! Posting this incase some poor soul runs into the same issue. Good luck and thanks for the video!

To close my panel, I had to put the top in first.

If it's still reporting a low battery after the new battery is in. A sensor test may need to be ran to resolve the issue.

Why does it take five minutes to show how to open the panel, take the old battery out, and then put the new battery in? Took me one minute.
