  • In this video, we'll guide you through the 5-step process of changing the battery in your Frontpoint Control Panel.
Step 1: Unplug your panel from the wall outlet and disconnect the red battery wire located at the bottom of the panel to fully power down.
Step 2: Open the control panel by holding the panel so the buttons are facing you. Locate the two smaller buttons that look like grains of rice, press both down together, and open the panel.
Step 3: Press back on the white clips holding the battery in place, one at a time, to release the battery. Then pull on the red and black wires to complete disconnect the battery.
Step 4: Slide the plastic terminal covers off the new battery and reconnect the positive and negative wires-red to red for positive and black to black for negative-and position the battery so that the black wire is closest to the green circuit board with both wires underneath. Push the battery back into position and check that the white clips have locked into place.
Step 5: Snap the panel closed, reconnect the red battery wires and plug the AC power adapter back into the wall.
    It's as simple as that!
PRO TIP: You may notice a low battery warning for up to 24 hours after installing the new battery. This is normal, as your battery may need time to reach a full charge."

Helped a friend with this. It's stupidly easy. Little pinchy on the fingers if you have weak hands though. Which is why I'm guessing she ask me to do it lol. I had a question for frontpoint. She called. They weren't in. We left a call back and they got back to us within an hour. The tech on the phone spoke English well. answered the question quickly. Without us asking, the tech noticed she needed an upgrade and mailed it out for free. So, I really have nothing negative to say.

Impossible to cancel service! I have been on the phone for over 2 hours. When I looked them up in Reddit, everyone says the same thing about cancelling.... they make it very hard.
I had them for 4 years and the equipment became obsolete and outdated, so I decided to cancel. What a nightmare! Be forewarned!

I have called several times to their technical dept for help. They always want me to leave a number and they will call me back. They never do. I used to be happy wirh their service but now I am thinking of canceling. Another company gone to hell

Good luck canceling I've been trying for over a year. Front Point is a fraud.

Good luck with the Do It Yourself aspect of Frontpoint. Every time I have to swap equipment or make any changes, it always takes a call to Frontpoint due to their crappy online Help files, and their "we'll call you back" support line. You have no idea when they will call you back, so you have to stay home all day, or even the next, awaiting their call while you are at the security system. Very disappointing. And good luck changing the batteries on a wall keypad.

It was a tug of war to separate battery wires from those hooks.I had to raise each hook up slightly and walk wire off. I look 40 but I'm 72...my eyesight and hearing are not what they once were...I had to stop and replay instructions about 6 times. This lady sounded like an auctioneer, sayin' stuff, a mile in a minute...Note: why is this orange wire freely floating with only one end attached, and a flat bar with double sided red tape attached to a black wire freely floating around too?
