Last week, my coach mentioned that my technique was mostly good except my roundhouse kicks needed work. I was surprised cuz everyone who held pads for me would always say that my kicks were super strong. So I recorded myself kicking on a heavy bag and noticed that my kick looked slow - almost like acceleration curve of my leg was incorrect. I did some research after and found your channel which fixed 3/4 of my problems. - I wasn't light enough on my rear foot at the start of a kick. I fixed this by putting more focus and weight on the step in. - I wasn't getting enough rotation. Fixed this by changing my arm movements and aligning my shoulders + hips at the end. - I needed to retrieve my leg back quicker after I kicked, otherwise it just looked sloppy. - And lastly, the angle of my kick was too wide. I researched a lot on this and found out about the "golden kick" which helped me tremendously. Overall, I'm so glad to have found this gem of a UA-cam channel. Keep it up!!! :) Much love

Came here by accident but this is GREAT video! I was wondering why my back hurts a lot after each kick training.. I even visit physiotherapist and he said that I have overloaded one side of my back. I didn't know why exactly because I didn't carry anything heavy. At some point my coach even told me that I am pushing my shoulder in opposite direction but I just skipped this advice and continue because it just felt that my kick is stronger. Can't explain it but it just feel like you are using some kind of lever or smth. I need to definitely improve my kick technique. THANKS!
1:40 the worst part of that bad technical kick: it totally fukcs you up from the joints/hips/back perspective. Typical from karate : make it fast and snappy (not kyukoshin but many others ). I would have done Muy Thai 30 Years ago, I wouldn’t have those back problems .

7:56 yeah. I don’t want to even do that anymore. When I am in the ring if I kick , I need damage .
