Abusers do it all the time. The victims also put on a front for the world. The hatefulness & abuse occurs when no one is around. Often the controller rarely leaves his victims. Paul abused others often. He drank a lot. He was a mean drunk and didn't care about anyone but himself. Killing Mallory Beach and the others injured was preventable . When a mean drunk underage alcoholic attacks others it sure isn't what I would let my kids hang with. Buster killed his gay lover to try to hide it. He got away with it. Then Paul kills the housekeeper of 25 yrs. & got away with that. His passing on most likely prevented any other innocent ppl. dying due to him. BTW you can kill calmly when it is planned out. Him driving is no reason gives him no reason to be out of breath. This session needed more objections from DA was needed.
My question is how do many people allowed Alex murdaugh to fool them for decades. You know a lot of rumors circulating constantly about crap he did. And they just ignored it. For decades. His character surely showed when Alex was not alert to ACT SO INNOCENT. I know I recognized a long time friend eventually when she didn’t know she just told me she didn’t pay a fozr hundred dollar bill she owed. A freezer full of prime meat. And never paid a dime. She lagged said come get freezer. Otherwise she was so sweet fun loving gal with children I adored. But THAT RIGHT TGERE TOLD ME EXACTL WHO SHE WAS. NEVER FELT TGE SAME SINCE. SHE NEVER KNEW SHE TOLD N HERSELF. THIS IS WHY I DONT BELIEVE ALL OF TGEM DID NOT SEE ALEX REAL CHARACTOR. JUST DONT BELIEVE IT. THEY ALL KNEW BUT CHOSE TO IGNORE. WHY. ??? Well he isn’t that bright needing alexes approval as friendship so much. WHY is TGE big question.
What is the evidence that he had a drug problem? It’s weird that it has never come up about how he obtained this massive amount of opioids. Not one witness has even mentioned addiction. If he was using as much as he claims, there is no way that no one noticed. At least in retrospect.
And where are the drug transactions? Dealer? Physician? Etc.
And most people addicted to drugs are thin, almost painfully. All of the pictures I’ve seen of him before the murders, he looked well fed.

Many of the 404, 403 "bad acts" objections Def raises pertain to details surrounding Rehab specifically: which then is odd that Defense brings it up here, which doesn't damage witness testimony ,, but does expose another possible mistruth issued by AM, their own client. In attempting non-addiction argument, Defense damages portrayals of AM'S 'honest' character in order to assert how family oriented he is. I think Def opened the door to rehab discussion. (I haven't heard about AM Gambling prob in trial , but read in comments )
He admitted having a problem with opioids. I was married to an opioid addicts for 10 yrs. Much depends on the levels they ingest and their growing tolerance to the drugs. Some people in his office testified to noticing changes in his moods, but it may not have been the levels that some addicts take. My ex could barely function, towards the end.....and it becomes very noticable at that stage. My guess is that Alex was using enough to cope, but not to the point where he couldn't walk a straight line or slur his words or have the hallmark "pinpoint pupils" that they get.
Its a shame alex had all of these genuine friends..he did not deserve any of them

Chris knew exactly what Alex was doing. Yes Alex did have the authority to tell him to write checks to him but he knew that something was not right...especially if he was his best friend. These guys are all into making money,keeping money and taking money without being detected no matter who loses.

His law license has been suspended by the states of South Carolina and Georgia since 2021. Mr. Wilson, the man testifying, is Alex’s victim. Alex essentially stole $192,000 from Mr. Wilson, his friend. The true mark of a sociopath.
Alex was surrounded by some decent wholesome people. If only we were all as fortunate ❤️

And this guy on the stand has already said he is an attorney who primarily handles cases where he has invoke sympathy in jurors to win cases. So maybe we are seeing a really good attorney doing just that, but as a witness.

CHRIS is not heartbroken about the money. Just the deaths. He must have done this before. Don't praise Chris. Remember he was his cut buddy. He knew Alex was slime. If Alex didn't pull the triggers he certainly knew who did it because he had to be in on it. The only reason why he balled so much is because he didn't think that the guns would do so much damage.

AM shot them himself and he KNEW what damage the weapons would to, hence it was important that the killing would happen in the kennel area where he could easily preclean. (but the worker noticed the hose had been used after he had used it last time 4.30 pm).
These were weapons used for hog hunting. he expected it to be a big mess, shoting wife and son from close distance.

Ahem ... Chris Wilson supported very fishy activities he stopped short of things that could be proven to be criminal intent. He VERY likely instructed his secretary to stonewall after she unintenionally had blurted out inciminating information * (on the phone with the paralegal of AM's team). Settlement money (belonging to a client) was supposedly deposited at Forge Consulting (Wilson's company), but the paralegal and the CFO had started doubting if it was even there.
That client's money should not have been transfered to Forge Consulting in the first place, the services they usually rendered were not needed or even legal in that case. CFO asked AM several times for paperwork, never got it, but eventually she got a mail by Chris Wilson in which he confirmed that the money that belonged to this client was there, on an account. Chris Wilsson did not say WHEN that money had been deposited (we can assume the missing money was paid in in a hurry, and that AM had confided in Chris Wilson that he had "redirected" the payment to his private account. If Wilson would not help him he would be fired, lose the licence and be tried in court).
But Chris Wilson did not LIE in this case or make any claims that were not true (like: the money has been deposited months ago). so he was smart enough not to set himself up for a trial and losing his job and licence.
* AM's paralegal already had picked up the scent, another case: she asked the secretary of Wilson on several occasions if certain cheque had really already been sent (while AM insisted it had not yet arrived).
This was a cheque for shared revenue because Wilson from Forge Consulting and AM from the lawfirm had worked on it. Wilson was responsible for distributing the money coming in from the insurance company, he should have issued a cheque (to the lawfirm !) and mailed it.
Then the secretary of Chris Wilson read out loud that the cheque had been issued at a certain date and it had been issued to Richard Alexander Murdaugh (not the lawfirm). And that she knew for sure that AM had received the cheque in person. AM's team knew how sloppy he was, they first suspected he may have lost it.
Chris Wilson had won a case with a settlement, AM had also worked on it and Wilson had to distribute the money correctly and had to send the lawfirm of AM their share (a lot of that but not all would go towards AM's December bonus. But overhead, costs for the case would be deducted, and 7 % went into a pool and were redistributed evenly to all partners. Smoothing out extremes. Lawyers that had a bad year or cases that dragged on got a little more, lawyers with very good results got a little less. Helped also to smooth out income taxes a bit.)
Chris Wilson / his team had issued the cheque (revenue for the shared project) but to AM personally. - Not to the lawfirm. Which was like it was ALWAYS done.
That was unprofessional and highly unusual, contradicting normal procedures.
The secretary of Chris Wilson read that out on the phone to the paralegal that questioned again the whereabouts of the cheque (Wilsons company Forge said they had handed it over, AM insisted it had never come by mail, nor had he gotten it, and accounting had not gotten it either). So the paralagel was sent in circles so to speak, lots of phone calls to track down the damn cheque. She said the Wilson's secretary read out loud the name - then heard herself saying it, realized what she just had read - and shut up. The paralegal could not believe what she had heard and said: Excuse me, what did you say ? But she would not repeat it.
In other words, the secretary had been instructed by Chris Wilson, she knew (or suspected) that something was not right. And she no doubt went back and asked for more instructions.
But that blunder was enough, the paralegal was completely shocked, she went to the CFO who had the higher position and more leverage. CFO confronted AM, asked for paperwork, asked Chris Wilson for paperwork - and from then on Chris Wilson and secretary went silent.
They protected Alex Murdaugh to the best of their ability.
Another trick AM used
AM had instructed her and her collegue that certain cheques that were paid out were not to be issued to "Forge Consulting" (the legit company, Chris Wilson works for them and was the contact when the lawfirm needed their services).
The case I mentioned before was different: There Forge Consulting had to pay out money TO the lawfirm.
Most of the time it was the other way round: The lawfirm used Forge Consulting's services and THEY got a cheque. Or AM imitated a payment TO Forge. It is unclear if Chris Wilson knew of that - I think not, he would not have risked that. AM made up costs (services never rendered not needed) and than directed the payments to "Forge" (the fake company) to his private account.
AM instructed his team that they had to issue cheques to "Forge" (which we now know was a private account AM had set up that mimicked the legit Forge Consulting company name, so that it would fly in the lawfirm. Many times accounting issued the cheque to Forge Consulting and AM's team members had to go and demand a new cheque issued to "Forge". They had asked AM before because of the difference (that confused them) but AM told them that Forge was a subsidiary of Forge Consulting.
AM allegedly delivered those cheques in person (he claimed he would meet Chris, but in reality he cashed them in and had his account Forge Richard Alex Murdaugh credited. He had that account at a small bank and the manager was also a close buddy.
Of course the cheques for fake Forge could not be sent to real Forge Consulting. First they would have noted that they had done nothing to deserve them, they could not associate them with a case. The paralegals had not reason to cheat, they likely would have secondguessed it and would have pointed out the obvious mistake to their business partner.
Second: even If the had cashed them in - let's say they were inattentive - AM pulled it all off so that HE could get his hands on the money. And there was a high risk someone would pick up the phone and ask: What is it with the cheque - and why is our company name not correctly written ?
LMAO we are watching Injury lawyers . These are extremely slimy people . He has no problem suing for millions but when it is his own money 192000 becomes a huge amount . In the Mack truck case ,over a million went to the wife who wasn't even at the accident scene LOL . I had to laugh when he said the accident victim kicked the bucket 4 months after the verdict . Nor was murdoch detoxed in jail. He was watching sports and gambling, not dope sick. You can't even get opioids, it's all fentnyl. No way he could function, in court as a successful lawyer, active in his community, manipulating money with high level of financial calculations etc, full of fentnyl... Which is often laced or kill shots are mixed in, plus the level of money missing would be enough drugs for half the county or state. No way. They'd need to have him detoxing and on a very high level of saboxone at the jail. Never overdosed... Nope. Not twenty years and not drugs. This money is hidden somewhere or something. What the heck are they hiding? His friend on the stand knows a ton more, he's clearly gaslighting the court and lying, very deceptive, filling in emotional crap where precise answers belong. It isn't hard to believe. It's IMPOSSIBLE to be believe. We must be intentional in our word usage. No human could withstand literally ingesting $50k/week of oxycontin excepting each pill cost about $3500 each supplying AM with an a.m. pill (pun intended) and a p.m. pill X 7 days...one week. I mean during this trial the great lawyer comes off as maybe he wouldve been a decent warehouse manager, but he couldn't be THAT stoopid to overpay to that extent...ijs. I'm not buying what he's selling. The AM himself TOLD US that he is a LIAR...Believe Him on that one truth and question everything else. Either way my basic education self understands that even a liar has nuances about himself.

@@ericafors6039 Turns out the judge thanked the jurors for their service and commended them for having weighed the evidence _correctly_ and that he agreed with their decision (after the verdict was read and all the legalities had been carried out, the judge adressed the jury).

I believe that he hired people to do it but unfortunately was there at the time...and this is why he talks about his family life while sulking so much. The killer Chris Watts constantly talked to the police about his 2 little girls when he knew full well that he had intentionally murdered them,threw one in a tank and buried another.

Betrayal is gut-wrenching. Especially when it's committed by someone you trusted and loved. It took a lot of bravery for him to get on that stand. Betrayal is an emotion that takes a long time to move past and heal. I wish Mr. Chris and his family all the best ❤

A true best friend forever is a rare, special gem. A genuine BFF never let's you down. Trouble is, these gems are especially rare. When we're blessed enough to find just one in the course of our lives, nothing breaks these bonds when they are mutual and love trumps all. Any person who would even think of betraying another person like AM did to numerous ppl is no " friend" and never was...

True, it happened to me. My BFF needed money she came to me, I was fortunate to be able to help her. She never paid me back and stopped talking to me for 4 years afterwards. It was not a little, this was thousands of dollars. Very disappointing, we've been friends since the 7th grade, we are now in our early 50's.
What a great witness: stand up guy right here. Such a nice man, and what a great friend he was to this Murderer. I feel for this man and how horrible this was for he and his family.

Never mind that there are some super brainy ppl who are employed by the law firm. We've heard these ppl and others not affiliated with the AM Firm on the witness stand. In a little town where everybody there grew up together, families know each other, " prominent" or not, it's not rocket science to know when a person has serious substance abuse/ addiction problems. Let's face facts: AM had his mental faculties in tact to have pulled off the years of horrific schemes he initiated and implemented successfully until the house of cards collapsed due to many ppl unraveling the financial scheme. And, his drug supplying " dear friend" he calls himself hired to kill him? Flimsy evidence from AM when he calls 911 asking for help not sure where he was shot. A white fella, short, much younger than me." Now, that's a great description with no mentioning of shooter's vehicle. And " I'm OK, but bleeding a lot," doesn't know church name on a 2 lane road he no doubt traveled a zillion times. My hunch is lots of gambling debts, murderer for hire appeals.
And, telling 911 dispatcher his wife and kid had been shot and how he had to get back over to the kennel where they were...why not remain at the kennel to make the call? Interesting AM never mentions he's done cpr, only says "I touched them to see if there were pulses." And " gotta get off the phone to call family." Odd how dispatcher never asked if cpr had been, was being done.
I feel awful for Chris. I cannot fathom how betrayed he was feel in every way. We should all be so blessed to have a friend like Chris. He trusted his long time friend. I can understand why he said " I'm so mad." His testimony was fantastic. He did a marvelous job handling the Defense attys. He wasn't about to allow the Defense to get any nonsense by him. Loved his statement to the effect "...A 5 year old could understand" as one of his responses to the Defense.
Bless you, Chris, your family too. I'm cannot fathom the rightful emotions and toll the AM horrors have taken on you, your family.

going back and listening to testimony like this, chris’s story in particular, after hearing the entire case, is so chilling. alex called chris at 9:15. he had only just washed paul and maggie’s blood off of him and chris says he sounded normal. shocking to imagine what chris feels today.
Somehow I missed this testimony. I agree with you. Shows what a Monster "Ellic" is. I never doubted it for some reason. Well, I know the reason...I have a discerning spirit. For non believers, that sounds strange. That's OK. The jurors see his aura, used their common sense and put an end to this evil. It will be interesting to follow his life in prison. He had just signed that property over to her for 5$ not long before she was murdered. Murdering her would give him the property back, precisely what he didn’t want since Mallory Beach’s family was on a mission to take everything from him. The motive still isn’t clear. The only thing I can think of is he knew he couldn’t murder Paul without Maggie knowing it was him and turning on him. Maybe he had brought up getting rid of Paul to avoid the lawsuit and she was appalled. I did hear she had visited a divorce attorney a few weeks earlier. I think it would have been impossible for him to convince Maggie that Paul died by a “hired asassin”, “revenge killer”, “random intruder” or whoever they’re claiming it was. Maybe he knew she would go to the police and turn on him if he murdered Paul and not her also.

The lawyer on the boat case didn’t buy Alex story that he was broke and couldn’t afford the to pay compensation to the family that lost a daughter in the boat accident. The lawyer demanded financial records and told Alex that if he was broke he would file a lawsuit against his son Paul who drove the boat and his wife Maggie who was part owner of the boat. You can not sue dead people. Alex was hiding money and pretending to be broke but knew that would not get him out of the lawsuit because the lawyer would go for his wife and son meaning he would still loose everything. So he got rid of them

It's ironic the way the defense attorney brags on and on about what a great family man Alex was and what a great colleague and professional Alex was. He killed half of his family and he stole from his firm, colleagues and clients!
I would pay close attention to whom he also labels the same way. They may be guilty of crimes as well.
This is what we have heard all my life! These people and/or enablers feel if they keep saying, "he is a great family, friend, colleague" it makes it true! Also, by saying it, we are to forget the evil they have done!! I will say it again, that is why for all of my life I was never impressed with some white person standing on some soap box trying to talk AT OTHERS about good families AS THOUGH THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WITH GOOD FAMILIES. We would laugh then and will continue to laugh at that erroneous mind set. BTW we tell ourselves and family, morality matters more then your money, career, toys, etc. As a teenager, I had several wonderful friends from families like this Murdaugh...those kids stated, they hated their prideful, lying, hypocritical parents😯. I use to say, "no you don't" and they would say, "yes I do"!! Be careful...the very people you think agree with you may not! This witness stand during this trial is a great picture to keep in mind! Look at the kind people hurt by this psycho!!

I think one of the things that makes this case compelling is that almost all these people are lawyers. Alex's friends, family, and colleagues.

The way they handled this crime scene is so bizarre...I guess it's the country thing b/c no one should've been in that house or on that property until it was processed and cleared...i mean it was a darn crime scene.🤦🏽♀️

The basic addiction had to be gambling. That’s an underestimated problem. It underlies many continuing behaviors but multiplies deception.
This guy claims to be innocent but as a seasoned lawyer he didn’t really ask alot of questions when these unusual requests for payment came up by AM. Why didn’t he call someone else in the firm to see if these requests for payment were on the up and up. He in a way helped his buddy AM hide money .
I hate to say it but his testimony was convincing to me. The members of the Murdaugh family all spun a tale, lied, and prevaricated. They made sure that a certain message was sent. What this guy says is pretty straightforward and he didn't minimize his involvement. It all seemed logical to me.
I love the whole aspect of lawyers taking the stand. Riveting. His face and voice says it all. He is heartbroken and I really feel for this good man
Please! He lied and sent the letter saying the money was in his trust account the entire time. He covered for Alec and it cost him $192,000. Chris Wilson isn’t innocent. Crocodile tears!!
This guy's a stand up guy even when no one is watching and he has every right to only worry about himself. His actions speak volumes. I don't feel bad for him at all because I know the strongest people are those who love and care even though some people will try to prey on them for that. What a legend, I hope he finds better friends and lives well.

@@locadisa I think it's far more likely this guy was manipulated by him like everyone else. Look at everything he stood to lose vs gained. He's either a terrible con man or he got tricked like the family, firm, and everyone else. The amount of times the firm gave him the benefit of the doubt when there entire practice could be on the line is crazy. I think it's much more likely his best friend would be fooled.

Of course he is but it makes sense in a twisted Alec Murdaugh kind of way he needs to have a reason that could somehow show some kind of reasoning behind the extent Alec went to ie; killing his Wife and Son
Nor was murdoch detoxed in jail. He was watching sports and gambling, not dope sick. You can't even get opioids, it's all fentnyl. No way he could function, in court as a successful lawyer, active in his community, manipulating money with high level of financial calculations etc, full of fentnyl... Which is often laced or kill shots are mixed in, plus the level of money missing would be enough drugs for half the county or state. No way. They'd need to have him detoxing and on a very high level of saboxone at the jail. Never overdosed... Nope. Not twenty years and not drugs. This money is hidden somewhere or something. What the heck are they hiding? His friend on the stand knows a ton more, he's clearly gaslighting the court and lying, very deceptive, filling in emotional crap where precise answers belong. How can the state miss this? It's so obvious!
Chris Wilson & Alex Tinsley appear to be extremely honest forthright men. I believe you could place your complete trust in either. They were both screwed over.

There needs to be an investigation into how and where Alex was when the former nanny/housekeeper fell and never recovered. Now I doubt that was an accident involving tripping up over dogs. BUT she was a simple woman and high society doesn’t care.
Alex was the only one at the house. He probably pushed her and snapped her neck then blamed it on the dogs. Then testimony is he stole the millions of liability homeowners insurance. This was premeditated murder for profit while his good ole boys all cover for him including this thief attorney. They are highly paid actors ripping clients off.
It wasn't. At her funeral ALEX attended and approached her two children and told them to file a WRONGFUL DEATH SUIT against him which in turn he gave him an attorney which was one of his best friends and they also had their own insurance company were supposed to pay out to children which ALEX S

If you search interviews of people connected with the case, you’ll find that when Gloria fell down the steps, Maggie and Paul were there, but there was a groundskeeper (about 30 yrs old) who was there also! I heard his interview, because he actually saw Gloria walk up the steps! But he turned his head, just as she fell! But he ran to help! He helped Paul move Gloria from the steps so that she would be laying flat on the ground! Alec was not there! The groundskeeper said that Alec was not there when Gloria was put in the ambulance! He was there Maggie was there and Paul was there. Yet Alec told the police that Gloria was able to talk and told him that the dogs had tripped her! Alec lied again! Alec was not there! Investigate!

Which they did and HE plugged them into HIS COLLEAGUE which were both in one the play which they stole 4 to 6 million dollars and HER CHILDREN didn't receive the funds
