@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs do you have a video of that? I have a 2000 Chevy pickup that has a random misfire that I have been trying to figure out
If I buy the x7 hd can I use it on normal gas passenger vehicles also? I really am trying to get one that does diesel and gas because I work on both in the shop
Not on all cars! On some cars it will go into every sub system, but there are certain years, makes and models that not all functions work. They update the tool so they fix stuff like this as they go.
I bought mines 2 years ago from OBDspace, and free lifetime upgrades was advertised. After owning a Snap-On Modis Edge at $900 a year I thought was kool so I gave it a shot. After 2 years of ownership they now want $99 a year. It’s a small price to pay but it’s not what I was offered at the time of purchase. I’m more of a VAG guy so for me this doesn’t do it. Thought I share that!!!
Get the Launch or Autel, and don't allow updates, just like Ivan at Pine Hollow, turn off the wifi and don't update it ever.... I thought I bought it, in fact I seem to have rented it instead.
A print out for the current customer, and future customer offers a media we are used to, especially now Service Data has moved away from a book, a till receipt just doesn't cut it.👍
Agreed. It's simple to send a report to a customer from this via email. Then follow up with a call to explain the needed repairs. It adds confidence that your a good tech.
You need to go with what you think you need for the money- if you are a general tech, you might go with the lesser model, if you are a more experienced tech, then go for the one that does more
Mine shut down and wants $99 bucks to resume operation, it's just like BMW charging for heated seats, I believe I will obtain another tool and "air gap" the thing. I don't want updates, nothing good comes from them, and I don't remember being told it was subject to a continuing subscription fee. "Air Gap" it, shut off the wifi, see if that helps avoid extra fees, I wish I knew it went like this, I would have saved some aggravation and money.
I went with the X7HD for the big stuff and a V6 pro+ for the automotive OBD stuff....the V6 does a lot for the price..on point with autels(and better) ...id recommend the V6 pro vs the X7 (12v obd)....for $60 more, its worth it.....The X7HD for heavy diesel does a ton of stuff...both units for around $1000 ....that what it costs to update a snap-on😂
I was wondering about the comparison between the X7 and V6 Pro+ and whether it was worth the price difference as I didn't read anything which was convincing enough to choose one or the other. Thanks for sharing a firm opinion.
Can you view live data to diagnosis 02 sensors not reading and a TCM reset?
Yes, and on most cars yes.
Does it have special functions to check actuators on HVAC motors?
No, this one has some limited bi-directional controls, but not many.
Will this show live cylinder misfire and which cylinder is misfiring along with how many misfires? Thanks
Yes.

i am waiting for unit to come in and am wanting to know if it work on most fords chevys
Most, yes. All? No. It's better on Asian cars for sure.
The X6 said it did CKP, but they lied, it won't do a CKP on a chevy, Get the Autel or Launch.

My understanding is that the X7 is only HD or regular. Not both.
Izzi all the special function is on lifetime for long to use ?
Not sure I understand. Sorry!
How can i connect to VCI . My scanner is Ancel X7 hd
You have to link the two via software.
Thiis scanner is to see the tampered mileage ?
On some cars yes. The actual milage is listed in the details screen for the car scan.
@@FarpointRestorationsAndRepairs so this ancel x7 is to work to tampered ?
what do you recommend for troubleshooting Toyota Hilux?
This tool or the Ancel DS series would be perfect.
Wait, the description for this computer says it runs air bag & srs codes! And you said it doesn't go onto airbags?
Not on all cars! On some cars it will go into every sub system, but there are certain years, makes and models that not all functions work. They update the tool so they fix stuff like this as they go.
does the X7 work on Mercedes S series?
Yes. Not all features, but yes most systems connect.
will it do any older cars and trucks like 2007 chevy and 99 s10 ????????????
Yes, 1996 and newer.
Can this monitor live cylinder function?
Misfires? Yes, in livedata it shows up on most models.
Will it work on a 2000 7.3 powerstroke

Hmm. I wasn't aware of that. Did the screen pop up and tell you your sub had expired? So far the updates have been free for this one.

I have a 1999 Mercedes Benz S 500 can it read my ECU
Can't say for sure as I haven't worked on one of those yet, but I'd guess that it could.
Looking at getting my own scan tool rather than using the shop tool. Debating vetween the x7 and tye otofix d1 or d1lite 🤔

Will this allow you to monitor emissions systems on gm diesels and check diesel injector performance?
I have not had a chance to use this on a US diesel vehicles. I only use it on gas engines. I would reach out to Ancel directly to see if it will
They is a new version update 13.2give some information about new version
Not much changed to be honest. Some functions work better, but many still have issues.

I looked at the V6. It reminds me a lot.of the Autel unit. Maybe next time!

Is the X7HD only for commercial and agricultural? Or will it also do passenger vehicles as well?
@@eap.productionsI’m looking for this answer so I work on diesel and normal gas burners I don’t wanna have to buy two rigs
Well, this worked out of deleted Eco.Diesel
Cool!
I bought the x7 hd to use on daf trucks well this is pure garbage.
I am sorry you feel that way
Hello there .I got a 2008 Nissan Altima and I think I need to replace the ecm whit this scanner I will be able to program the key and the ecm ??????
