    Sir! Love your videos. Anyhow, what is your take on why the trd pro is not mass produced like the rest of the trims? Here in Cali, I visited quite a few Toyota dealers and if I'm lucky I will see one pro on the lot.

    • @TundraDude34
      @TundraDude34  Місяць тому

      Thats by design. The TRD Pros have always been a smaller produced special edition. Keeps them special and the value up

    I liked the truck you ended with. I think that was peak Tundra. So many things got worse after that. The doublecab is the perfect combination of good second seat and usable bed length.

    Local dealer has a base limited 4x4 crewmax short bed (exactly what im looking for) and they have it at msrp $62,470. Thinking of offering $55,000 out the door. They have a lot of sr5’s with all kinds of options that are marked down 3-4 thousand but the limiteds they have aren’t marked down. Think they will counter that or I can get closer? Personally dont think I’ll buy if I can’t get it for $58 out the door.

      @@WillMV8893 The Toyota is alot cheaper inside and out. The rear bumper is worthless, sound system sucks, wind noise inside at speed, tons of cheap plastic, tailgate shuts, like a 1970s truck. @taylorjackson7908 massive problem . The engineers at Toyota are pushing for one trim level of the 5.7 to come back in 2026. If they do just one trim, they can meet the volume requirements needed for emissions. Gm and Ford are still pumping out v8 engines. I have 3 tundras currently and I'm on my 3rd one personally. I'm die hard, but not now. I have seen too many locally blow up and turbos go within 7k to 15k miles.

    I find it perplexing: according to Consumer Reports, the 3rd gen Tundra ranks as the least reliable among half-ton trucks. Additionally, there's a substantial recall affecting the 2022-2023 models, extending potentially to some 2024 units. While exterior appearance is subjective, the truck is considered ugly, and the interior suffers from issues such as rattling and brittle plastics. Despite these concerns, Tundra sales lead in terms of dollar transactions. Remarkably, sales of the 3rd gen Tundra have increased, gaining market share. What does this indicate? It could mean two things: either I lack understanding of the situation, or the buyers, who seem to favor it like a staple, may not fully comprehend their choices. The former seems more plausible

    • @TundraDude34
      @TundraDude34  Місяць тому +2

      In my opinion, There is another view point as well. Although there is a recall on certain 22/23 production dates, and some issues here and there in 2024, the actual problem numbers vs built and sold unit is relatively small. I also think the informed consumer won’t ride the internet hype and do their own personal research. While we see negative, there is also many positive.
      2nd, maybe people just like it. I know it doesn’t fit the forced narrative, but maybe its that simple. Thanks for watching!

      @@TundraDude34 I believe the primary reason is brand recognition. Toyota has established itself as synonymous with reliability, dependability, longevity, and high resale value. It's true that very few consumers base their purchasing decisions solely on UA-cam reviews - if I recall correctly, only 8% of buyers do so.
      However, according to this year's Consumer Reports survey, the RAM now ranks as the most reliable truck, a significant shift from its previous standing as the least reliable. I don't necessarily think RAM has drastically improved its quality and reliability; rather, it seems other brands have declined in these aspects. Initial quality numbers for RAM show little difference between pre-pandemic and post-pandemic periods, whereas other brands may have introduced new models, affecting their standings.
      RAM's latest truck remains largely unchanged except for a new engine. In contrast, Toyota completely redesigned everything: new frame, engine, transmission, entertainment system, and suspension setup. While they did incorporate a similar engine found in the Lexus LS, it's important to note that truck owners have different needs compared to Lexus LS owners, who tend to be retired individuals in Florida.
      Do I believe that the 250,000 new Toyota Tundra owners are unequivocally right and I'm wrong? No, I don't think so. However, Toyota has a strong marketing team capable of accurately assessing the market and leveraging their strengths. It's an exceptional company that, like everyone else, can make initial mistakes. The difference lies in Toyota's commitment to continuously perfecting their vehicles in terms of reliability. I have no doubt they will eventually rise to the top spot.
