That what happens when your whole business revolves around catering to jobless soap dodgers.
Love it....soap dodgers. 😂
Weatherspoons does alright
@@unusedsub3003 Weatherspoons have economy of scale. You can be sure they are very hard-nosed with their suppliers
@@greenpedal370 Dunno, never go in them. The clientele isn't exactly my scene 🤢
You don't know what Anarchist actually are do you?
Nothing screams anarchy like a moccachoccafrappachino.
..and a chocolate muffin.... "Death to Capitalism"
with sprinkled cinnamon?
It's so weird to see this kind of stuff where a guy claiming to be anti capitalist is running a for profit cafe. The whole 'pay what you can' was for a mug of regular coffee; everything else on the menu (and in the shop that was on the property) was being sold at a considerable mark up.
@Dildo Insaney anti-capatilist sticking true to form.
"Pay what you can..." results in poor goods and services. Eventually, a vacant building.
Liberals are mental.
I went to a cafe in Paris run by existentialists and asked for a coffee without cream - the waiter came back and very apologetically said "Ah am sorry Monsieur, we are out of cream - would you like it without milk?" (At least they are still in business) - It's a cruel world.
That joke has whiskers.
well they are french
That's human nature. Many years ago a ship I was working on was in dock in hamburg Germany. One of the crew said he knows where there is a nice cafe. So of we went. It was in the vault of a old church. All money Went to repairs on the church. So there was a donation box. I took a very nice apple cake and a coffee. And put ten euro in the box. My friend took a bottle of cola in his pocket a coffee and a cake and put one euro in the box. When we sat down to eat he said he comes here daily. I was ashamed. Never went back .I hope they got there church repaired.
If that's true he's been more helpful in the long run than you have. 1 10 euro payment vs 1 euro a day is around 300 euro a year given weekends and off days
@@almalone3282 would be the case if their supplies are magically restocked lol
@@almalone3282uh, no, he's been far less helpful in the long run. did you miss the part where he's eating there daily and only paying one euro? over 300 days worth of food and only 300 euros? you're funny 😂
There is a reason why businesses need to produce a business plan and stick to it.
I think this cafe owner did hence their current predicament.
@@GeorgeyTheApeI guess his goal was failure lol
I did some boatwork for someone a while back and told him to pay me what he thought it was worth. Turned out he did not think my labour was worth very much.
That happens ..it's usually people (friends) close to you, who you find are secretly meaner in spirit. Strangers are at least a little more generous
@@thomridgeway1438 Reminds me of when I did a fun run for a charity. Some people were "jaw drops on the floor" generous. Gave me £100 just for doing a half marathon, and paid up front. Others moaned when I got the form out although they were under no obligation at all to sign up, then moaned again when I came to collect the money and insisted I provide then with all kinds of proof that I'd done the whole distance. These were all engineers and managers on at least £45K plus. It really split between people who are generous and those that are tight-fisted, there was such a dramatic difference in attitude between the two types. A large majority were tight-wads.
Perfect definition of an oxymoron.
A grilled slice of oxymoron on gluten free rye bread with smashed avocado and a spiced apple juice please.
When anger and hate are the starting blocks for an endeavour, it rarely ever succeeds in the long run. Both Nazism and Marxism are similar in this regard.
Nazism and Marxism are both socialist in nature, hence the bitter, twisted, murderous ideologies
Put everyone into poverty under severe control and sell it,like an equality movement and that they are ‘taking care of us’.
Marxism is succeeding in the West.
Not just hate, but also divisive
difficult not ot hate the people who had killed off ten million in the Ukraine and butchered their intellectual class, some hate is entirely justified.
I actually work with a very senior manager who genuinely believes that people will want to work even if there is no incentive for doing so… he genuinely thinks people don’t work for money, but for a warm glow and sense of contributing. I have no doubt there are some folk out there who do so, but in my 45 years of life on earth I’ve come to realise that the vast majority of people will gravitate towards doing as little work as they can get away with without being sacked.
If I'm going to work for zero pay, or even pay far below market value, it sure won't be to help increase some other joker's paychecks. I'll help my neighbor clean or something.
Definitely not me.
They say that money can't buy you happiness. I disagree. Have you ever seen Richard Branson unhappy? I rest my case.
@@Ibanez-nt5rq Money buys some happiness, but the truth is that the poor man is the one who wants more
That's the foundational problem with socialism in all its forms. They're delusional when it comes to human nature.
Also, only the drip coffee was pay what you can afford, they recommend $3.
The anti-isreal stickers are free and very repugnant.
Pay what you want 😂😂😂

The problem here is not hating and complaining about capitalism while still living in it.
The problem here is hating and complaining about capitalism while being clearly unable to live without it.
The owner was expecting a government subsidy. But, not this time. F him!
Should have had Eat Out To Help Out....

How’s anarchism woke? Do me one better define “woke”

You are not complaining about society while also living in it.
You are saying you hate society, but in reality, you are loving it.
Cafe owner "im going to bring back Communism"
One year later , opens till "And theres no money in here"
Worked perfectly he owned nothing but hopefully hes happy.
Who could have ever guessed this would happen
What a giant surprise. An anti-capitalist business failed.
I Love This.❤
It's still open, i was there today
Ironic from start to finish.
Colour me SHOCKED.
I’ve lived in Toronto all my life and I’ve never heard of this place. Must’ve been in Kensington market, the Mecca of the local wokery
We had an anarchist candidate up for local election, he said he would never call the police and could sort out his own problems, we sprayed his car all over with bright neon pink anarchist symbols, he lost his deposit and was never seen again.
Socialist economics defined...
Good to see the business go bankrupt, good ridance.
So he was basically an entrepreneur with a niche business idea - the very essence of Capitalism.
Struggling to keep the lights on and to pay the serf workers their rations….. sounds like a communist success story to me….😂
Oh my god this is karma
Karma for what?
The nerve of him charging common people money for hot bean water 🤣😂🤣😂
Bell ends like this deserve to fail.
At the end of the day the numbers don't lie. Your business can either pay it's bills or it can't. The financials don't care about your ideology or emtions. Neither do the suppliers. Pay me my money.

@@laurenceBDontYaNo They blame everything on socialism these days without understanding it and often confusing it with communism or stalinism. I doubt they can explain the differences.
It's not socialism, it's called being a cheapskate and not paying for your order.
There was something similar where I used to live and it did OK it shut down last year and it had been open since 2012. It's a pay as you feel cafe... as in you pay them in what you feel was a fair pay for the effort they put into the meal.
But you couldn't really eat for free there.. you were expected to pay something
I hope the 'anarchists' smashed the place up after they left just to keep 'authenticity' alive.

Never trust people to "do right by you". Ever. It is not that people are bad, most are not. But they are almost always clueless and will never see things from your perspective. I am sure most people did not pay enough for the coffee shop to stay open.

Anti capital doesnt mean communist in every scenario. There are lot of schools of thought that supprt property bit are only anti capitalist in reapect to profit, rent and interest.
God, the long winter evenings must just fly by in your house...
@@somebloke13 eh?
Actually you are right.... there is mutualism which believes in money and private property but as usufruct. And banks being run on a mutual credit basis... we has a food hall/ makers space that ran with this system....it lasted 9 years and was pretty successful. But still not as successful as the capitalist cafes
The irony is, even been anti profit, rent and interest, is that they are against the fundamental form of economic growth for the poorest. The basis of a taxi or bus is that you rent a seat and they transport you to where you requested. Or imagine parents asking for rent on borrowing their spare room because they didn't legally give ownership to the adult child they have in their house to own said room, simply to help pay for basic maintenance of the property etc. Renting is giving trust to a stranger and hoping they don't trash the place while you're repaying the bank for lending you the money to buy it, the price hike is because so many people trash the house... if they didn't it would be cheaper.
@@bigmouthstrikesagain4056 yes I'm a right leaning Mutualist. Not a hardline mutualist. I don't consider those 3 things theft but economically inefficient.
On contrast to the hypercapitalist society COVID brought about, the UK was always soft mutualist, especially before the year 2000. But we never used the word.
Historically, mutualism is a type of anti capitalism, but I became a Mutualist after being an ancap for 5 or so years. It strikes me that the parts of mutualism that are "anti capitalist" are just the parts that wouldnt require a welfare state as a corrective mechanism
Canada the wokest nicest country, until you refuse to obay Trudolf.
These lot are truly delusional
Canada isn’t warm and nice
I still look at all other animals with envy and wonder why they can live freely and happily in abundance in a world, while I have to work and pay tax! I do wonder who laughs at who. I accept Capitalism to some extent is successful, but I don't ever say it isn't slavery .... it is.The answer isn't Communism or Socialism either (because they are always let down by innate human stupidity, greed and selfishness), but there has to be an alternative to capitalism someday. Besides we don't have true merit based capitalism right now anyway ... we have corrupt corporate fascism.
How you lot relish when an altruistic idea fails. Look at yourself and ask why you think that way.
Human nature. With most people, stuff that’s essentially given away has no value.
Because timmy Boy, it shows that communists and anarchists can't run a business, let alone run a country. No wonder every socialist utopia descends into hell.
