I'd like to say I agree but I don't unfortunately! While I've had my fair share of E's and nose powder over the years while out clubbing, I could always sit at home and appreciate this for what it is, intricately thought out, space age, dimension and genre bending music. It laughs in the face of trendy minimal by keeping it's roots true....good dub, tripped out electronica. It's not trying to be anything other than thinking mans music. Thumbs up!
@Hypercatjohn, I pretty much agree with you. This track selection doesn't come easily. Rod Modell would of spent years and years digging through crates of vinyl - and the Producers of each of these tracks would of done the same. So there is a huge collective knowledge an intelligence that's gone into both the production and the track selection. So with that in mind, only the true 'Heads' will appreciate the meaning and depth of sets like these. And all of it comes down to complete passion.
I think people dont need to belong to any scene to understand or appreciate music.... Everybody can listen and understand what they listen... you can like it or not... or give it different understanding... you understand drugs and dancing people... now i understand calm and soft electronic atmosphere.... the right scene to make my job... programming... Its easy Ciaran... just try!!

It takes a certain level of intelligence and understanding to appreciate music like this, it's an extremely niche thing. 99% of people would listen to it and immediately lose patience, the little intricate nuances that they miss are the things people like us thrive on. Would you sit and listen to Lady Gaga all day? I doubt it, it takes a level of knowledge and snobbery to get to this kind of music in the first place.

I only tried to tell you that electronic music does not have the forced relation with the drug/dance scene.... that really its indeed a silly comment.... and I tried to tell you in a educate and comunicate comment way.... thats all..
