I always loved how Jerry would give his finale thoughts at the end of each episode. It would always be some positive, uplifting, and profound. A stark contrast to sex, violence and madness that went on during most of the show.
I'm crying so much at only just finding out about his passing. I met Jerry, 23 years ago while he was filming a pilot dating show here in Australia. I was pregnant with my 2nd child at the time and myself and two other girlfriends who were expecting at the time were sitting next to me on seats in the front row. Everytime they took time out for a break during the filming, Jerry would sit next to me on the step and we would chat and we had a good laugh together. I'll never forget the warmth and sincerity and sparkle in his eyes. I really don't remember what we even spoke about, silly things I assume, but afterwards, he waited behind to chat to everyone who wanted to meet him (which was everyone) and I was the first to go up and ask him if he could sign a piece of paper so that I could remember that moment. He personalised it and I asked if I could give him a hug and he was more than happy to. It was one of those real, sincere bear hugs that seemed to last for forever. Dear Jerry, I'll never forget the warmth and kindness of your character your laughter and your smile and the sincerest love that you have for others. I'll never forget meeting you and it was always something I spoke of so fondly whenever your name was mentioned. I am so sad that I won't ever be able to see you again on this side of eternity, but I am sure we will meet again in heaven one day. I really look forward to giving you the biggest hug again and catching up. You were truly an amazingly kind and wonderful man here on earth and you will be missed by so many, including me. May God bring comfort to all of your family and loved ones in this time. 😥❤
