I tested all these and the Srixon ZX7. Came down to Srixon and Wilson. I had a tighter dispersion with the Wilson's and they were cheaper so it was kinda a no brainer
That's what I find all the time when fitting, the Wilsons performance is up there with anything else and there's a significant price advantage. Theyre easy to sell.
@@golffm6924 Not when you would like a different shaft (like Nippon NS Modus Pro). Extra uplift for Wilson, but not for Mizuno or Srixon. Same for grip update
I ended up getting the st pro after a fitting. felt the best and especially for its price i felt it was worth it. i tried out the cobra ltd, taylor made stealth, taylor made p790, ping i525, callaway apex pro, mizunos and i felt the rogue st pro was what fitted me best.
Just picked up a set of wilson 4pw like new for 480.. had the cbs before but felt like unless u flushed them i was in trouble and i play on a mckenzie designed course so not ideal for the greens set up..
Great matchup of clubs . Curious if the peak height of the Ping 525 were much higher than the Wilson’s D9 forged? And did one seem more forgiving between the Ping and Wilson? Thanks for the video !
I dont have the actual data to hand now but my general feel and through speaking to customers etc. that the Pings do fly higher like for like over the D9 Forged. I have found one or two potential D9 Forged players find they're not quite able to get them up very easily. I think if youre a very low spin, shallow swinger the D9s are possibly not the best fit.
Yes I think they look great, the sound (which we perceive as feel) is higher pitched in the swing room than some of the models with a forged face, but it's good to hear that you think the feel is good when actually using them outside. I maybe need to get outside with the clubs to make sure I feel the same about the sound/feel when hitting them off grass.
Living in England for past 35 years, but i do recall the golf hotel in/near North Berwick. Just ordered some St Pro’s…. Thanks for the review, always nice to get some independant view that VFM is there. Local pro shop, got me 5 - GW for £850 after a fitting. Don’t even want to look at my ancient clubs since i picked up the St Pro Demo 7.
Good choice, they're really nice. Horrible limbo land you're in at the moment, where you're forced to play with your old clubs whilst waiting for the new ones. Knowing that you're not going to be using the old ones soon.
I found the Pings so easy to hit especially in the long irons over all the other models. I don’t think any other manufacturer makes better long irons than Ping. I think it’s because of the amount of bounce their irons have. However when you get into the shorter irons I find them difficult to flight them down. i525 are ideal for a combo set.
Good point actually yes, you just need to maybe adjust some of the lofts a bit, especially if you were mixing them with S59s. There should be a replacement for 210s aswell next year some time I would think.
Lightweight steel stiff, 105 grams approx. They were nothing fancy, just the closest thing to what I use. I'll check tomorrow exactly what they were, did I not say in the video, it was a while ago.
Yes, the Pings are really nice, I'm very tempted. I've only had one set of Ping irons, S59s I think they were and I really liked them. Callaway then offered me a free set through the business so I didn't use the Pings for very long. If I was buying them privately and the money didn't matter I think I would get the Pings.
That Callaway is so ugly. Looks like a billboard on Nascar full of text and so on. They need to look st cobra tec or ping i525 p790 and try to copy their style. Will never ever buy Callaway clubs just beacuse they are so bad looking.
It's funny how different everybody sees things. I think the Rogue St iron's overall shape and blade like appearance looks really good. And the text etc. doesn't really bother me. The only thing I would say is its a bit of a long winded name, not very catchy, but it just shows you that you can't please everyone. Your opinion of them is of course fully valid and I will make a point of noting that someone may think the polar opposite of me in future videos.

@@iemeler Wilson will still be a lot cheaper than corresponding Mizunos. Srixon is maybe a different story. Never stocked Srixon so not sure.

Wilson for the swing!

Good price, have you gone with a slightly different shaft this time? Hopefully they work out this time.

ST pro... the look at address and feel. Had them since the end of May...

Just got fitted and the Pings won out for me. Can’t wait to play with them
Yeah they're really nice. What did you have before?
Awesome. Work. Thanks for the help
Thanks for the comment, much appreciated.
Great video this, just ordering up a set of Ping, thank you 🙏
No problem, thanks for the comment.
Fantastic video Fraser
Thanks very much, glad you liked it.

Sorry to be late: what shafts are these tested with please? Standard stock shafts? I m just about to order the ping with Alta cb shafts. Many Thanks.

Seems like those pings worked out really well for you
