With all the UK madness at the moment, the fact that there are chaps in plain buildings making these works of wonder, warms the heart. Keep the great work up.
People like them are the only real way we get out of this mess. Build and create our way out of it.
@@sh010272 if only we had stayed in the EU hey?
What UK madness? Nothing has changed.
The only difference between this government and the last one is the name. It's just more capitalism.
What madness? Literally nothing has changed. The Labour gov. is almost exactly the same as the Tory gov. That's the problem. Capitalism is the problem.
@@julianevans9548 An utterly mindless comment. And the exact opposite is true. This is 'capitalism' (a la Adam Smith). Men (i.e. entrepreneurs) in sheds doing stuff.
Proper Jaguar is still alive. Thanks to TWR
There are people who can design a Jaguar we all aspire to drive. It's not that hard when you employ talent over DEI quotas.

@@rodhalligan5136 Agreed, looks like a Transformer that got stuck mid transformation.
Others have covered this car but only Harry could pull up to factory with a modified V12 Jaguar. The true automotive GODFATHER. ❤
I prefer his car to the XJS, quite honestly.
@@racketman2u my parents had both and the XJS, while it got a lot of eyes on the school run, it was problematic.
@@trenchtown69 We had a mk 3 cortina estate 😂
Harry's car is a legitimate resto-mod, built in the spirit of the original. TWR has made a fine track car with their XJS, but it bears only token resemblance to the original.
I had the opportunity to have brunch on Saturday admiring the featured car (it’s been delivered across the pond). It loooong and spectacular! The wheels are particularly stunning and the whole car just oozes high build quality. Hats off to the TWR team!
My jaw actually dropped and I gasped "bloody hell" when he revealed that engine, what an absolute monster, fantastic.
I literally said "f*ck me" 😂
This company should be called Thundercats
Should be a 1600hp engine
Thank Heavens for TWR. RIP Tom Walkinshaw. I'm Australian, and regularly watched the Bathurst 1000 back in the day. The Jag that Tom won with in 1988 is a legend of Australian motorsport.
This car embodies Tom's spirit. Great to see Fergus and the team keeping the proud Jaguar tradition alive.
Me too mate. Tom Walkinshaw Racing worked wonders with the XJS, and many other cars. He truly loved racing. Does his other son still have a team in the supercars series?
Thanks
@@lesflynn4455 Walkinshaw-Andretti-United are indeed still kickin, still winning races, and finished 3rd in the teams' standings behind only Triple Eight and Tickford this year.

This review is in a different league to the Top Gear attempt a few days ago. Oh, and with no BBC budget. Well done Harry.
I was litterally just about to comment similar. The top gear one was awful in comparison to this. Top gear one was just a car journalist being told to go to a car release. This is a proper car enthusiast and normal guy making a video of him being shown the car
@@chrisdovey4041
Totally agree and was thinking the same.
BBC is just some blokes, who were told to do this for they paycheck.
They might like cars but they not enthusiast.
Clarkson, Hammond, May, Needell, Buttler-Henderson, Plato and Smith - they made of a different type of "wood", something what is getting rarer with newer generations.
...and Mr. Metcalve falls into the same group.
Wait, are you telling me that there are actually real journalists in too gear? I though they were just keen amateurs and clebs?
though TG's review was inline with what thy do. Harry's reviews have always been more niche and less dramatic. Pointless dig at TG and the BBC.
That V12 start!! Every time :) I drove an original TWR it was very cool indeed.
Good timing with jaGuar content this week Harry!
So what's with the capital G -- they were making fun of it on the Chris Harris podcast and suggesting it might represent somebody, perhaps whose name begins with a G, if I understood correctly -- could anyone clarify?
No one has any idea, least of all JaGuAr. The plan seems to be trying to out-do Bud Lite to ensure they have no customers at all. @bostontranscriptioncenter7756

@@bostontranscriptioncenter7756 Have you seen the new Jaguar Ad hahaha
I was sure this was going to be priced 800k plus... But 270K? For that level of engineering, history, attention to detail and with such a beautiful design, that's an absolute bargain.
TWR get their money back later if you blow the engine up or bin the car! 😂
Was sceptical about this but having seen Harry interview the brains behind the build I’m a convert. Hope it’s a success for all involved.
@@integralevideo Yes but most "influencers" can be bought. You can be certain Harry's certainly not one of them; he has integrity.

Not sure which I'm more in awe of, the sight of the engine or the level of detail.
I think this car is fantastic.
This IS what Jaguar should be! Amazing
Nah - The New Jaguar is great. I haven't laughed so hard in ages.
This is what Jaguar was once. No longer - sad.
A run of 88 cars at £300k+ each isn't going to do anything for Jaguar.

By far the best automotive focused YT channel. A true car enthusiast who isn’t annoying, obnoxious and truly enjoys a car for what it is, not for the attention it may bring.
I’ve been watching the story around the new Jaguar brand unveil over the last few days. It’s good to see a better perspective. When I was a kid, there was sometimes an e-type parked down the road from my granny’s house. Can’t remember the colour - might have been red or might have been BR green, but I do remember the 4 exhausts at the rear. For me, that was exotic, exciting and desirable. 50 years later I can still remember exactly where that car was the last time I saw it. That’s what Jaguar was about and what Jaguar needs to find again. Thank you Harry for helping keep that spirit alive!!
What a car and at 270k is a bargain for a totally bespoke car like this, well done to the team for not charging 500k, just shows the profit in the other restomod cars on sale today.
I think TWR has an opportunity to dig into a huge and amazing catalog of Jags for restomodding purposes, becoming what Singer is to Porsche. May this be that start of many great things to come!
I'd like a TWR line of factory Jaguars that don't suck in all the wrong ways.
@@MWPompert they need to get a better designer this is a freak show of a car.
Or you can go to Jaguar Heritage and they will build you a car. Look up what they did to Nicko McBrains XJ, that is beautiful, this is a clown car.

A wonder , Stunning, Sounds great, looks Stealth , cabin just right, peddles for dancing, exhaust note at the side of your ears what could be more benefitting than that ... 360 degree video at Bathurst IN THE 80S is incredible!
I remember when TWR were huge
Onboard cameras were pioneered at Bathurst. First in 1979 and the 360 version was developed later - ua-cam.com/video/NUqN1xsZymc/v-deo.html
Beautiful car. Swoops and angles. Swangles, if you will. Really well done all around.
Just imagine taking cars from back in the day and just installing modern engine control systems, modern shocks, springs, and, most importantly, modern brakes and tires. Its a great way to recycle cars, and enjoy their beauty.
I agree with you on that!
Yes, a neo-retro or neo-classic mod, not these way over-the-top conversions.
In America, it's called Resto-mod. I do appreciate the over the top rebuilds. It paves a way forward for otherwise forgotten or unappreciated cars.
Agree
They’re cool and sound great I just wish there was a company that would do one a little less extreme and more affordable. I go agree with them on not lengthening the bore. A short stroke V12 sounds absolutely glorious
I only started to watch Harry because of his motorcycle passion, but his knowledge and style on exotic cars is impeccable
From the second he's on camera, there is a level of Petrolhead excitement on Mr. Metcalfe's face that's made my week, and it just started.
Respect .these are the the kind of blokes that build the spitfire..work of art
No one can deny , this car is a head turner extraordinaire , and my new fav restomod. What a machine to own , while the V12 supercharged is music.....This TWR Supercat is worth every dime for me.
Much cheaper than a Singer by 1 million. You can get 4 or these for 1 Singer....bargin.
@@TheNorville2 I'll take the TWR then. No brainer.
But you can't make an ugly car look pretty. This looks what a teenager would have cooked up in Need For Speed Underground.
@@blondiebxl My one critique is the front splitter could be shorter otherwise it's a looker for me. Never ugly....But hey that's your view.
That's glorious. Done properly!
The team at TWR have done an absolutely fantastic job. I love that they haven't just created a one-dimensional track car, but a useable GT for the road, albeit track capable. As I was a teen in the 80's, the widebody (Koenig, Strosek etc) look really appeals, and yet they haven't lost the heart and soul of the XJS. It's a Lister Le Mans brought bang up to date! The fit and finish is also incredible, and all from a team that's only been together 3 years. And the icing on the cake, Podium Place is 5 minutes from home, so whilst I've been enjoying their coffee and car meets, they've been creating this beast in the background. Bravo TWR, bravo!
What a great team and what a car. I've always had a soft spot for the XJS timeless design. Good luck and I wish these guys every success sounds like they're on their way with interest at a global level.
10 year old me absolutely loves this. Current me wants them to turn down the max power slider on the etch-o-sketch about 75%. Jaguars should be beautiful and understated and for me, this is a bit too shouty and look-at-me in the styling department. And the screens in the interior just don't match the vibe, in my opinion - I think genuine dials would look so much better. I'm sure the guys at TWR and future owners won't loose any sleep over my opinion though! Thanks Harry for bringing these in depth looks at cars I could never normally get near!
We're in agreement! Let's do lunch! 😁 As well as the OTT looks and the digital v. analogue instruments, I'd also prefer the engine without all the juvenile pops, bangs and crackles.
It's a JAGUAR!
I'm all for a V-12 that screams (nice kitty!), but a Jaaaaag that sounds like one of those modded 'car meet' toys with a remapped engine and a switchable exhaust full of fireworks (🙄) is just saaaad.
Yes!
I agree. Though I doubt anyone would've come up with this design in 1941.
I'm sure they'd be more than happy to tone it down if you asked; a few hours of dyno time is nothing if you could afford a car like this.
Yup! Chav box driven by a certain demographic in Birmingham!
I saw this car at the LA Auto Show this weekend. Its very impressive - looks fabulous in person. The team are 100% enthusiasts and were very approachable and enthusiastic. Awesome - just awesome! Thank you for the video!
Harry - your son (I guess) is really good at filming.
With another UA-cam channel channel - the same car looked ugly.
It is amazing your video is so much better . . . its possible to appreciate what TWR have achieved.
Wow the price is actually quite affordable for a loony V12 carbon fibre race car. Great video, I wish them all the best of British at TWR
There's a strong Basil Fawlty-esque "Don't mention the war!" vibe throughout this video...😁
I think he got away with it once 😉
@@CovKid2K10- 😁.
Yes, what war that is being avoided or dodged is un-clear 😂
"You started it!"

Wow, what a project. I started off feeling a bit cynical, thinking it's all puffed up but hearing Harry and the guys talking it through you can see what a labour of love it is and the beauty shines through.
That interior layout with a couple of screens and lots of real switches is really nice , still not a fan of screens instead of gauges for speed and revs but this is nice
Mr Walkinsgaw jr. seemed nervous to start with but didn’t he seem to grow with confidence as soon as it got technical. That chap knows his stuff and what a thing they have built. Harry nearly had his chequebook out at the end. “Where do I fill up the oil?” He has already decided it’s one for him🤣
Fergus is a very cool guy with so much technical knowledge and has his own racing background. I've had the good fortune of having him work on one of my cars in the past. He's not loud and showy but has a calm charisma. Jaguar should have had him running things for them.
What an absolute belter, I believe that Sir William Lyons would be very happy to see it...brilliant tribute to him and all the TWR team..well done 👏👏👏❗️
I bet he wouldn't. Far too much aero.
Cool cat! That engine is a true work of art. Not a single wire or lead is visible from above. Balanced, beautiful and raw.
OMG the sound it makes revving up is amazing
I agree 100%. It sounds as good as a Ferrari V12 which has always been the standard.
baby zonda
Sounds fantastic 😍
I'm using the OG zonda engine for my V12 build 😎
£275,000 is a ton of money, and I hate to say it, but that actually seems like a really good value.
Everything a Jaguar should be. Amazing what people can do when they really understand the heritage of the brand.
True, I get what Harry says about this car always living in the shadow of the E-Type, but I think this car can definitely stand on its own
What heritage? its been deleted.
I was initially opposed to this car. This changed my mind. Talent isn't dead in Britain, its just hiding. What a beautiful thing.............
The looks are 50/50 for me but the level of engineering especially doing the majority in-house very impressive
Agreed , I suspect a different colour scheme ,wheel colour and stripe work could beautify it perhaps ?
Kyza's design language hasn't ever resonate with me, didn't really surprise me when I found out that he designed this. Over styled imo, but obviously that's subjective.
@@NitroNuggetTV Find him to more of a decorator than designer, the car still has a 'body kit' feel to it and the hood looks completely unresolved. Under the skin is a completely different story.
Thank you TWR!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Please make it in multiple pieces!
One great beauty!
This is exactly the way to build back the public enthusiasm for Jaguar and make us forget the disaster of the past week's nonsense. Spot on Harry. You have done more good for the brand in 34 minutes than JLR have done in the last decade. The Jag looked so amazing amongst it's competitors.
And then how it went on the track!
Who'd have thought it was possible.
That TWR looks astoundingly good.
Aside from door handles have they kept the interior lights beside rear vision mirror too?
Surely one will have to get a position in Harry's Garage?!

One of the best cars you've had on the channel Harry, Absolutely Beautiful 💖
this is glorious. XJS was my favorite car as a boy . As I got older and appreciated engineering I lost interest and grew away from it. This is just jaw dropping.. a perfect balance, stance, its retro while precise. Those wheel!
I am officially back in love with my XJS 💓💯
Sunday evenings always good with harry 🎉
Brilliant video Harry! My dad had an XJS and he loved it I know, he’d have loved the new TWR version.
Seeing all these "restomods" follow the trend of Singer leaves me feeling the same way each time; you could get 90% of the driving/engineering experience without all the excess jewellery, 'look at me' aero, and ridiculous power for a fraction of the price, and probably a purer experience too with less crazy power and smaller tyres. But these are built to be scooped up by millionaires and appreciate, which is not the same as the technical exercise of the XJ220s and 959s and F40s of the past. Something deeply cynical about it, even if they sound great on paper.
True, that happens. But actually I have a hard time seeing that happen to THIS car: If you don't drive it what's the point? It's not pretty and it will probably loose value as well. Fortunately it is a GREAT reinterpretation of the XJ-S!
An absolute beast. I’d go for different wheels, but the bold design just looks better and better every time I see it. And that’s no mere engine - it’s a proper powerplant! This, my friends, is the very essence of a Jaguar - power, theatre and style.
Bloody hell, some DECENT Jag content this week........... 🤣
I miss my xjs. My first one was a 1980 with a chevrolet v8 conversion. My second was an 84 with v12. Loved the v12. So smooth. A dream to drive. Did all my own maintenance.
If only Jaguar made cars like these ….. then they wouldn’t need to make hair product adverts
The DNA is a Jaguar and don’t forget The E type. So Jaguar made this cars.
Wincingly ugly to my eyes.

I’ve seen many videos on this car and each time I love it more! Great video Harry, great to see the TWR name on a car like this Tom would have loved this!
I much prefer the look of the mule to be honest, the actual car looks a bit X pack Capri in my eyes- but its great that the XJ-S is receiving some 21st century retro mod love. It would definitely suit a period TWR racing colour schene.

Then I saw Harry’s thumbnail.
So glad I watched.
Love it. Got to remind Jaguar where they are going wrong

As per my comments on the Pistonheads thread, much as the engineering is top notch and it will no doubt be amazing to drive, personally i think this is gopping to look at.
Aesthetically awful!

I love the super cat. I just seen that at the Wynn hotel for F1 this week, it reminds me of the Lister jaguars back in the '90s 👍👍
It’s good to see more cars coming in under the half-million price range. There are enough over a million cars that most people will never be able to afford. These, while still very expensive, could be aspirational dream cars that normal folk might be able to afford one day.
Nah 😂😂😂😂 it will go up second-hand, buddy. These are going to wealthy people's collections, not regular people
In this day and age the price is very reasonable. It looks brutish. Love it.
I love the XJS and I'm very sure the work on this car is of the finest of quality... but I'm afraid it just looks like a bad 90's Max Power body kit to me. The XJS already has visual presence and character, so they really should have gone simple with it. Give it a road-racer stance on simple motorsport wheels, keep the lines clean and any thing should be subtle and sedate.
I prefer the XJ C . 😊
So true, sadly
That's what you get when you use an instagram AI rendering dude 🤦♂️... instead of an actual automotive design house... I would love to see a manufacturer put this in their testing and wind tunnel, as I bet the test engineers would all fall around laughing at the aero and drag coefficienty results.
True
The Xjs is considered an old man’s car. I think younger folks will like this, it has DTM vibes and a bit of Miami vice. I am 30 and think it’s cool lol. Sadly I don’t have the money hahaha
I can't believe the price, just incredible. In the proper jaguar tradition, Grace, pace and great value ,not to mention pedigree with historic links to legendary racers from jaguar, honestly mind blowing, she's a beauty 🎉🎉
There's absolutely NO grace or space. Lots of brute force and power. Back to the drawing board for the exterior. It's too Cartoonish !!
