    Really good overview of all the 28mm plastic medieval knights. Sooooooooo many choices and options.

    Thanks for this! My friends and I are getting into Medieval Wargames and I've been looking at both Victrix and Perry for a good mounted unit. Really appreciate the overview. Fantastic posing and kit swaps!

    Fantastic comparison! 🧡 Regarding to your vid we can conclude that the upcoming "Mounted Knights" box by Wargames Atlantic will match the other ranges quite nicely. I think I will get my credit card and go a banans now... 🤣

    Really interesting video. The scale comparisons between the different manufacturers are super useful so thanks for that! I'm currently working on some of the Fireforge knights myself. I also watched your video about your Bretonnians. Do you have any tips for other manufacturers that work in a similar scale to GW that could be used to convert some more unique Bretonnians? Anyway, you've got yourself a subscriber here. Keep up the good work!

      @@allbookedup8802 thanks for your comment and thank you for subscribing. I’ve heard good things about Highlands Miniature but haven’t bought any myself yet. I will be looking into GW compatible alternatives in the near future as I build my Old World Armies. I’ve just picked up a box of Fireforge Folk Rabble which look interesting and I’ll be doing some scale comparisons with those this week.

      @@PaulStanleyauthor Great! I look forward to seeing how that pans out. I'm thinking of taking the leap and committing to an Old World army, but I'm dubious about some of the old GW sculpts. Some of them are great, but there's a few that aren't really my taste. This kind of video is perfect for inspiration. Regarding the Fireforge models, one thing in particular that I prefer about the Victrix kit is the chain mail. You can really see the difference in the age of the kits there. The newer Victrix kit has so much more defined mail and it takes a wash really well compared to the Fireforge kit.

      @@allbookedup8802 I've been looking into the Highlands Miniatures, and it looks to be that printed at 28mm all the men at arms and foot troops match GW well, but you need to print (or order pre-printed) 32mm knights and horses.

    Super useful video. In some ways I wish Victrix were in packs of 12. These look very good and I’m tempted to take the plunge but the recently released Wargames Atlantic foot knights look excellent and given they are supposedly releasing the other 4 warrior types used in Barons War by the end of this year AND the possibility of Black Friday / Xmas deals (including the potential for a Barons War plastic starter set) I’ll hold off for now I think. Thanks for the link to the arms and equipment channel too 👍

      @Edward-Plantagenet The Victrix minis are generally a much higher quality sculpt than Wargames Atlanic. The Victrix Foot Knights look superb, better than the WA foot knights IMO

    • @Edward-Plantagenet
      @Edward-Plantagenet 3 місяці тому +2

      @@Alexpeterson8331 Thanks for that. I was coming round to that way of thinking TBH. I’ve seen people post about problems posing the double handed weapons but sometimes that’s down to modelling skills. I did think the Victrix mounted were too many for what I need but once you’ve knocked out a couple of banners, lords and then hand weapon and lance alternatives you’ll soon eat through 18, to such an extent you’d probably need two sets of WGA.

    • @Alexpeterson8331

      @Edward-Plantagenet yes very good points!
      If you look at the actual value per sprue between Victrix and WA, victrix nearly always wins by a mile. Better sculpts, more options, crisper details, more interesting poses, MUCH better fit and function.
      WA fill some well needed gaps in plastic, but the quality lacks for me most of the time, you can tell they try and spend as little as possible on the design

    These remind me of the Bretonnian knights from Warhammer Fantasy 3rd edition, they were basically historically arcuate warriors fighting fantasy creatures. The Perry Twins sculpted them up, they were quite nice, but GW wanted something more fanciful a few years later and the Perry Twins moved on. Are they doing these figures now?

    • @PaulStanleyauthor
      @PaulStanleyauthor  4 місяці тому

      @@maxbrandt6 The rider is a Perry sculpt but the horse with cloth barding is Victrix. The Perry plastic mounted knights have metal barding reminiscent of the sculpts they once did that Foundry now own.

    Victrix has some of the ugliest horses on the market. Seen better horses at much cheaper brands. The anatomy is totally strange and the proportions are wrong. They have the best Roman infantry though!
