I am so immensely grateful, thank you. Your brushes are among some of the best that I have, and I use them in almost every painting I make. Would you consider doing a tutorial for how you prep your paintings for print? You mentioned it briefly in your book Windows to Worlds, but kind of skimmed over the specifics, and it's the specifics I would love to get your expertise on! Thanks again for everything you do.
Im so glad the brushes have been useful for you! My process for prepping files for printing is just a back and forth of printing it > seeing what needs to be adjusted > making changes to the file (usually levels adjustments to lighten the file, sometimes using selective color to lighten specific colors that are printing too dark/light) its highly dependent on the paper and printing process, but often it takes 2-3 tests to get it right!
@@DevinElleKurtzArt Ah, ok, thank you...I was wondering how you could tell, given the vast difference of back-lit screen vs print. Lots of test prints is the trick, I guess. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer, all the best with your new book!
@@wildbriar it’s definitely more challenging with, for example, CMYK book press printing, because it’s never going to look exactly like the screen - in those cases it’s more that I’m making a value/judgment call on how the art on front of me looks, since matching the screen exactly isn’t a possibility.
But for my own personal printing, I have an in-house wide format pigmented ink printer, and that kind of printing (on the right paper, I use a semi-matte) can be incredibly true to screen - it’s an RGB printing process and ideally will look about 95% the same as the screen by the end of my trial and error!

Hi I notice a lot of pros don't use coolorus and actually just use default photoshop color picker, just preferences ?or you don't see any benefit to seeing value percentages, in built colour schemes etc?
Default is what I’m used to, I think seeing color schemes would feel cluttering to me. HSB sliders are helpful sometimes though!

Sadly gumroad doesnt let me download. Its jsut stuck in "processing" when intry to confirm any mail
Here are a few things to try:
-Incognito mode
-A new browser (EX - try safari if you're using chrome, or vice versa)
-Go through the process on another device (phone, etc) you will receive an email with the download contents that you can access from any device
-This is rare, but sometimes locations in other countries will be blocked, you could try using a VPN if you're outside the US
Hopefully one of these works for you!

Anyone who sees this: PLEASE HELP. These brushes look so useful and I'd love to use them, but I use Krita, and they only accepted the brushes in .abr format. However, they only load as brush TIPS and not brush PRESETS, which means they lose all the stamping, pressure, etc data. I don't know if this can even be fixed... but if ANYONE knows please reply!
Unfortunately, as far as I’m aware, Krita lacks the type of dynamic brush engine that these brushes run on. If that ever changes, I will definitely make my brushes compatible with Krita. However at the moment, they will only load as texture/stamp brushes
