This is exactly what I was looking for I always want my timeline as 3 Video 1 Sterio 1 5.1 3 thru 8 as Mono and 3 Buses 1 Stereo and 2 5.1 surround. I worked great FINALLY. Now what I need is the same thing when I add a New time line to an existing Project. I saved a Blank Timeline and then Open a new time line and then IMPORT that saved timeline. I may have as many as 15 time lines in a Project, Just some slightly differant the others to see what works best. So Thanks Jason
Hi Jason @ :37 onward you may want to blow up your demos a bit larger so the UI text is easier to read. They're rather small even on a maximized laptop screen. Closing out the bottom Page icons would help a lot since you do a good job saying where you are. Thanks.
I wouldn't be so confident about setting optical flow and speed warp as default. These options are not that accurate but very resource demanding, and rendering with optical flow and speed warp takes forever, especially long projects in high res. And what's more important, not all projects require optical flow.
Hey! Thanks for the video. Was very useful. I have a question, for having the template on the desktop. If I double click it to open.. how do I get the new project to go to a different database for example? Because I have 4.. 1 each for different companies I worm with
I'm not sure, that may already have the settings in the DRP file - but if you save your settings as a preset, you can always apply the project settings preset and then you are good to go.
Hello Jason: Thanks for this great video. You, Alex, Casey, and the others really help all of us greatly. But Question: I noticed the color of the video changed at 9:24. Was this my imagination? I am not a color expert so please forgive me if my question is inappropriate. If the color change was intended, let me know the purpose. I’m still learning about styling my videos. Thanks again, Jason.🙏🏼
Thanks,Jason, for your response. I don’t know enough about video editing to assume something is a mistake or is a stylistic choice. But, your video is very useful. Thanks again. And, once again, I have learned NOT to let perfect get in the way of good enough. That is a major problem for me. 😊

You're welcome 😊
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Jason! Would this also be applicable for Davinci Resolve for iPad?
Sure, this should work there too. Although I haven't used the iPad version - my iPad is pretty old. 😜
@@JasonYadlovski thanks for your fast response, appreciate it!

I totally agree. That's why I typically wait till the end or do it on a clip by clip basis. 👍

Thank you, Jason. Do you think that this will work if you are bringing in a DRP file from an ATEM Mini Extreme ISO?
I'm not sure, that may already have the settings in the DRP file - but if you save your settings as a preset, you can always apply the project settings preset and then you are good to go.
@@JasonYadlovski Thank you, as always.

Hey! No reason, just a mistake. Forgot to update that last clip. Nice catch. 😁

On the default project on the desktop, what if I want to add new settings to the default later? Do I just make them and save without creating a copy?
I would just make the changes you want, then export out a file for the desktop.
Hey been scrubbing UA-cam looking for a way to include predefined bins as part of the project defaults (clips, audio, music, timelines, etc) possible?
ha ha didn't watch far enough before I posted... Thanks! been looking for a long time for this.
Glad you found the answer. Thanks for watching! 😁
Video starts at 4:50
Thought it starts at 0:00? 🤔
Another sponsor!
Gotta pay the bills. 😜
@@JasonYadlovski Yeah!
How would I do the project preset if Im using a custom launcher with scripts, so I can't launch davinci the normal way
That I'm not sure about. I've never used a custom launcher with scripts.
thanks for this
