Having just discovered your channel, this video caught my attention as I not long bought a 65" Oled Panasonic and installed a Govee immersion system. I have not really used the Govee so thought I'd just wasted my money. lol Your description of what it actually does has got me thinking I better start using it. Thanks for the great info.
No worries, glad you took something from it 👍Yeah it’s a great little hack. Not long after I did the video, I actually bought a cheap Govee system from Amazon for 9.99 for my 55” OLED that I have in another room. No remote and it only does 3 sides of my TV but for the price it was a great wee buy. OLED as you’ll know doesn’t really need the contrast boost but it’s great for nighttime viewing as opposed to sitting in pitch black room! Lol I have more tv based videos planned but it’s just getting the time to make them! Promise there will be more soon tho. Thanks for checking out the video! 👌
😂 well thanks all the same! I’m glad u enjoyed urself 👍 lol I’m from Ayrshire so similar to ‘Glaswegian’. Luminoodle sounds like something u’d boil the kettle for after a night-out 😋 But it’s in actual fact quite a good tv backlight 👍☺️ Thanks for your comment 😃
@@ElectricGeek Just installed one. Excited to see how it works this evening. Wasn't familiar with Ayrshire, being from the states but now I know the distinction. Thank you for the review and Cheers of some luminoodle to you!
Yeah i’ve heard only good things about that product. I remember seeing a great review for it on AVForums and actually went to buy it but was sold out at the time. It’s quite expensive for a backlight but it is the kinda ‘pro’ choice. Luminoodle do a pro version which also has 6500K mode for half the price if budget is a concern. I can’t actually speak for the medialight MK2 personally. My understanding is the 6500k temperature is the most accurate backlight in that it’s neutral so won’t skew ur perception at all of the on screen colours. However unless ur a total cinephile, pixel peeper you’ll probably be ok without i’d suggest. Check out the avforums review. If u struggle to find it e-mail me and i’ll send u the link 👍
@@ElectricGeek you are great mate. Thanks for the prompt reply. I have read the review there. I’ll check the luminoodle pro as well. We only watch Netflix and Disney + as a family plus UA-cam as well:) We love family movie time at the evening so sport etc is our type of watching TV. I bought 65 inch Hisense u8G from Costco and will flushmount this weekend:) Greetings from Glasgow
@@travellerseko Awesome! Always good to get another Scotsman in the comments! 👌lol I’m down the road from u in ‘the shire’ 👋 Checked out your tv, good choice! 65” same as my Sony👌. Whatever bias light you go for i’m sure it will look sweet and really deepen those blacks 😍 Enjoy! Be dropping more tv tech videos soon… 👀 Thanks for watching! 👍
Just bought the light's. The white isn't very bright, is actually looks slightly off White. The different colour modes are a bit distracting as they don't match what's on the TV . The lights definitely help with contrast and eye strain. I should have bought the Philips ambilight TV instead
Nice one Neil. Hopefully get the better perceived contrast at least. Ambilight is a nice feature on their tvs but yeah u won’t get one of those for £40 lol The ambilight light kits are nice but u pay for them
There’s three different white settings remember and not to insult ur intelligence but there’s like 8 different brightness levels for the lights if u hold in the centre button. It will double flash went at it’s brightest and again when at dimmest
@@ElectricGeek I've tried the different settings. The remote control is easy enough to understand. My TV is a bit of the wall though maybe better if it was wall mounted
It's probably best to get the white led version. This one doesn't go to 6500k. Having different colours other than white can spoil the viewing experience it's just a gimmick.
Yeah ur totally right from an accuracy perspective mate. Serious movie watchers should use the white light at reference 6500k temp but some people like the option of the colour purely for aesthetic reasons. I watch personally with white light but i like the colours (mainly pink lol) for my girls. Keeps them interested 😃 Thanks for the comment 👍
I can’t say for certain Neil, i’d need to check the packaging again but i’m out just now. I do know it has 3 white settings. Warm, natural & cool. I use natural as it seems the most neutral. Warm and cool have yellow & blue accents respectively. Hope that helps mate 👍
This is really useful, thanks. I'm gonna order some now!
No problem! Glad u found it useful Jim. Cheers for watching 😊
Nice, I have a hue lightstrip on my tv, but this is a good alt
Phillips stuff is awesome, just too expensive for me at the time 😅
Definitely food for thought.
Van damme reference in there for the faither! Great video. Odeon 1 looking immense at night
Thought u would like that as i slotted it in lol Glad u enjoyed. It’s made a big difference to my setup 👌

Came for the review, stayed for someone saying Luminoodle in a Glaswegian(maybe?) accent.

Great, actually would be something we would be tempted by! Feel we need a bigger TV before sorting this :(
Cheers man. People use it on gaming monitors etc so don’t think size matters (😉) Smaller the tv, the cheaper the kit 👌💸
Alright mate,
I was told to buy MediaLight MK2 for the best light at 6500K. Have you tried that? What is your recommendation?

I’m forgetting the remote is easy. My kids knackered mine so i use the in-line control 😩

@@ElectricGeek what is the Kelvin brightness on the white? Is it a true white? Might not be far of the recommended brightness
