    The "choke" on this particular carb is actually an enricher.
    Lever up/plunger up/valve open let's air into the bowl to atomize with fuel and return to the other side of the carb. More fuel/less air/fuel RICH environment causes it to idle lower(bogging with more fuel without more air)
    Lever down/plunger down/valve closed keeps air out of the bowl which means no extra fuel. More air/less fuel/lean environment causes higher idle(just like cracking a butterfly valve or a vacuum leak is more air with same fuel)
    This is usually the case when a bike can be started lean until it idles up, then hit the lever, it idles down.

      @@apexiblaster do i take the choke off right after its started? or does it have to stay on until its warm?

    • @apexiblaster
      @apexiblaster 3 роки тому

      @@silentlyfe3660 usually if the outside temp is warm enough, choke is not needed. in your case once it starts you can lift the choke after 30sec-1min once its warmed up. cheers!

    I appreciate this video so much. I just got my first pit bike on Friday, and couldn't find any help specifically for the 22mm Mikuni carb. This helped a whole lot.

    That's a chinese copy mikuni,..I have one,...the real one has a big idle screw with a spring around it and the mixture screw is on the same wall as the idle screw,..and the real one is bigger,..but the copy runs better than any stock carb at least !! The copy has a clip to hold the needle down,..and the authentic one has a plate to hold it in !!

    Hello, the throttle cable will not come out from the top of the carby. Even though I have unscrewed it and used some force it won’t come out. Any suggestions at all. I’m trying to replace the carb on a 150cc Chinese pit bike that isn’t running but can’t get the throttle cable out.
    Any suggestions would be great please.

    • @tittan1500
      @tittan1500  4 роки тому

      Cole TRICKLE the slide that the cable is attached too has a title channel it rides in to hold it straight push up and wiggle the slide in the carb while pulling up on the cable.
      Should not require a lot of force
      Also the screw on the side of the slide is the slide stop it sets the idle position maybe that is pinching the slide back it out a few turns

    Hey bud great video, it was useful. I have a problem on my pit bike dream speed 150 yx. My main jet is a 150. When i keep the pit bike on low rmp i have no problem, the problem comes when i accelerate little bit much the pit starts to die, it feels like that there isnt fuel. Sorry for my grammar im italian.

    • @tittan1500
      @tittan1500  6 років тому

      Mr.FlyMan _ could the carb be flooding with such a large main jet? If you pull the plug is it wet?
      If it’s lean a larger main jet or raising the needle up a notch
